Lazio smiled smugly at Magnus and Kiara's stunned expressions.

"Welco to the city of the resistance!"

He cleared his throat when they didn't give him the reaction he expected.

"Ahem, anyway. Friend, could you, uh, tone that aura down a bit? If we walk in like this, people might think we're under attack."

'I almost forgot.'

Atticus still wasn't completely used to his viscount powers. He'd been unknowingly letting out heavy pressure and heat.

"Alright."

As Atticus reduced the effect of his will, Lazio nodded then ushered them in. A golden do surrounded the entire city, but the group was able to phase through it without any problems and entered into the city.

'It's her.'

Atticus could feel her familiar will instantly around the city.

'A will art that turns the entire city invisible.'

He wouldn't expect any less from her.

'This is how they survived until now.'

As far as he knew, the Redflas ruled this entire region. Resistance or not, Atticus doubted they could go toe-to-toe against the Redflas.

As they ventured deeper into the city, Atticus soon started noticing the nurous eyes on them.

'Other gods.'

Considering the number of territories he had under him, his passive reach had expanded to such a level that he could feel the entire territory.

'They're a lot.'

Atticus hadn't seen the true extent of the resistance during his visit to Asterra. He had never truly imagined they'd be so many.

'At least a small army.'

His eyes cooled the next mont as he felt the hungry gazes settling on him.

'My beacons.'

"Don't mind them," Lazio whispered quickly. "They're just stunned by how many territories you control."

Atticus nodded, but he wasn't fooled.

'They're probing .'

He could feel the hunger and greed in their eyes.

He could understand the sentint. The number of beacons behind Atticus alone would grant one a passive reach that spanned an entire territory. It was an advantage most would desire.

Unfortunately, due to Lazio's request, Atticus had retracted his overwhelming aura. To the other gods present, he seed just like any other lower viscount.

Still, the resistance gods weren't the only ones with greedy eyes.

'They're all I need.'

The gods currently in the city were the answer to all his problems. He needed non red fla viscounts to kill and grow stronger. And the resistance viscounts were exactly that.

Killing and absorbing them would raise him to the peak of the viscount level. But…

'I have to hold myself back.'

He couldn't do that to her. Especially when she'd just saved Magnus.

'Let's just focus on the matter at hand.'

Atticus cleared his thoughts and silently followed behind Lazio. As they neared the middle of the city, the number of gods they saw grew. Atticus soon sighted a large building in the middle of a vast field.

'She's there.'

He could feel a strong aura coming from the building. Aside from the Saint, the other powerhouses of the resistance were also gathered there.

As they landed and approached the entrance, a small group clad in radiant golden armor stepped forward.

"Only he can enter."

Atticus fixed his eyes on the man leading them. He was tall, broad and muscular. He had a stony figure to him, like nothing could shake him.

'Just below middle rank.'

For what it was, the man was strong. And from the way the others stood behind him, he was clearly respected.

"What is the aning of this, Scalar?" Lazio asked, frowning.

"You heard ," Scalar replied, still not taking his eyes off Atticus. "The council mbers are in the middle of an important eting. Only he may enter."

"The Saint ordered to bring him. Are yo—"

Scalar finally turned to Lazio. The air grew heavier instantly.

"Which is exactly what I'm doing. He may enter. The rest of you will remain outside."

Lazio's brows creased.

"Bu—"

"No."

All eyes shifted to Atticus.

"They co with ."

"I'm afraid that's not your decision to make, boy," Scalar said, his frown deepening. "Yo—"

Atticus turned without another word.

"Let's go."

As Magnus and Kiara followed imdiately, Scalar's expression darkened.

"Where do you think you're going? The council summoned you."

Atticus didn't respond, and his silence only irritated Scalar further. His eyes glowed, will churning around him.

"You—"

He was about to step forward when the doors slamd open and a woman clad in radiant golden armor rushed out.

"L-Lord Atticus!"

She dropped to her knees before him without hesitation.

"I apologize for his behavior. He doesn't understand his place," she said sharply, glaring at Scalar, whose eyes had narrowed to slits.

"Your companions may enter with you, Lord Atticus. She's waiting for you."

Atticus looked down at the woman kneeling before him. She was one of those who had fought with Anorah against the sentinel, aning she had witnessed his strength firsthand.

"Alright."

Atticus didn't spare the shocked Scalar a glance and walked through the door with Magnus and Kiara behind him.

"I sincerely apologize for that," As they made their way down the hallway, Lazio bowed deeply.

"Scalar is one of the new allies of the resistance. He's a bit… arrogant. He thinks acting like that will earn him a seat in the council."

"It's fine."

Atticus didn't waste a thought on the man. The only reason Scalar still had his head attached to his neck was because of the Saint.

Lazio let out a quiet breath of relief that Atticus wasn't angry. Soon, after ascending a flight of stairs, they stopped before a large door.

'She's there.'

"The Saint will see you now," Lazio said, pushing the door open.

A rush of heavy pressure slamd into the group, but Atticus scarcely reacted.

As they stepped inside, several powerful gazes locked onto him at once.

But despite the pressure bearing down on him, Atticus ignored all of them. His eyes focused only on one person.

Atticus smiled.

"Hey."

With a soft, gentle gaze, the Saint of the resistance, Anorah, returned the smile.

"Hey."
