Now reading: Chapter 15 15 The Two Sides of the Art of Control from Avatar: Fire Emperor, a Action novel by bendebirilkivar.

Should I change the book title from *Avatar: Fire Emperor* to *Avatar: Fire Lord*?

I think the word "lord" would be more suitable for the Avatar world, what do you think?

-----

Iroh only spoke half of what he intended, suddenly realizing he had lost his composure.

He didn't continue, only saying pointedly at the end:

"Perhaps I don't know enough, and I hope she's not what I expect."

"Anyway, I hope you all have fun together."

"Oh, um."

Kahn wasn't sure what Iroh was trying to convey, so he responded vaguely.

Did he know that people who left their sentences hanging like that were practically begging to be punched?!

Ignoring these heavy topics, the two began to chat casually.

Iroh had a lot of free ti on his hands; in fact, he essentially had nothing to do.

He was like an older man who had just lost his job—no, it was much better than that.

He was more like a retired official living off a generous pension.

After all, even if Iroh was completely sidelined from the military, he was still the current Fire Lord's brother, a forr General of the Fire Nation, and the fad Dragon of the West.

His prestige and influence were far beyond that of ordinary people.

And even setting aside those titles, he was a genuine Firebending Master and one of the strongest people in the world.

All things considered, rather than worrying about Iroh, Kahn felt it was better to worry about himself.

Kahn asked him what his plans were for the future, as he couldn't just sit idle all day.

Iroh smiled and said he planned to wholeheartedly focus on being there for Kahn and Zuko as they grew up, letting everything else take a backseat.

"Ew."

Kahn got goosebumps from the sappy sentint and rubbed his arms in disgust.

Iroh laughed heartily at the sight.

He truly ant what he had said.

Zuko and Kahn were now the two most special and important people to him.

Kahn was the orphaned son of his good friend.

Before his friend sacrificed his life, he had asked Iroh to look after his wife and child.

Now that Kahn's mother had also passed away, leaving the boy completely alone, Iroh felt a deep responsibility to raise him to adulthood.

Zuko had always been close to him, and the boy's personality was so strikingly similar to that of his own tragically deceased son that it filled him with a profound surge of affection.

Furthermore, Ozai had now taken the throne, but his insidious, ruthless character and domineering, arrogant actions were things Iroh secretly disapproved of.

Yet Zuko, despite being Ozai's son, was completely different from his father; he was an unpolished gem.

He hoped to guide Zuko well so that he could beco a truly enlightened ruler in the future.

Suddenly, Kahn had a whimsical thought and asked a question.

"Can I learn Firebending from you?"

Iroh was a top General before, so his skills had to be unparalleled, right?

Iroh didn't answer directly, instead asking a question of his own.

"What's wrong?"

"Is there sothing bad about learning at the Firebending academy?"

Kahn said glumly, "I am learning, but the instructors there teach way too slowly."

Kahn explained the situation to Iroh.

The instructors at the Firebending academy only taught one stance at a ti and made the students practice it repeatedly.

He learned very quickly, but even after mastering a form, his requests for advanced lessons were firmly refused.

Iroh was surprised after hearing this.

"I didn't expect you to be a Firebending prodigy."

"Let see how well you've learned to firebend first, and then we'll talk."

"Alright!"

Without delay, the two imdiately headed to the courtyard.

Kahn perford all the forms he had learned so far.

"Not bad."

Iroh praised him first, but then teased him.

"However, so of your forms still seem a bit unpolished."

"You don't look very much like a prodigy, do you?"

Kahn explained himself.

"Because I taught those to myself."

"You learned them by yourself from scrolls?"

This ti, Iroh was truly surprised.

It was well known that each Firebending form recorded on a scroll only contained three or four diagrams, lacking any detailed explanations of the key breath control or movents.

So even lacked clarity on how to transition between them.

Generally speaking, Firebending scrolls were used as reference materials for private tutoring or as review guides.

While it wasn't impossible to use them for self-study, it was incredibly difficult.

"That's why I want to learn from you."

Kahn looked at Iroh expectantly.

"Hmm."

Iroh stroked his chin, pondering.

After a long mont, watching Kahn's expression grow increasingly nervous, he suddenly threw his hands up, winked, and laughed.

"Hahaha, of course you can!"

"How was that?"

"Were you especially nervous just now?"

"Are you especially surprised now?!"

"...You're so la."

Although Kahn had indeed been a little nervous, and was genuinely surprised now, he felt sowhat exasperated upon realizing he had just been teased by an old man.

Kahn's resentful expression didn't make Iroh feel guilty in the slightest; instead, it just made him laugh again.

After he finally stopped laughing, he spoke again.

"If you have any questions about Firebending, you can co and ask ."

"And depending on your future performance, I might even teach you so more advanced techniques."

"How does that sound?"

There it was, the promise of secret techniques!

Although Iroh was essentially dangling a carrot in front of him, Kahn had to admit... it was a very tempting carrot!

Speaking of questions, Kahn imdiately thought of one and asked it.

"I do have a question right now."

"When I went to the palace to hang out earlier, I sparred with Zuko and Azula."

"Azula's Firebending was much more powerful than mine, and the color of her flas was different from a normal Firebender's."

"Why is that?"

He assud it was likely just a matter of natural talent, but he wondered if Iroh had any deeper insights.

"Oh?"

Iroh imdiately beca interested.

He thought for a mont and answered.

"I'm not entirely sure about the color of her flas, as I've rarely heard of a Firebender producing such fire."

"It might indeed be a result of her unique constitution."

"As for the sheer power of her Firebending... I think I know what's going on, but it's a bit hard to explain with words alone."

"Let demonstrate."

"Watch carefully."

The form Iroh demonstrated was a very familiar opening stance of Firebending.

The power Iroh unleashed was much greater than what Kahn could produce, which was entirely normal since their age, experience, and physical condition were completely different.

What was so special about that?

Just as Kahn was feeling puzzled, Iroh perford the opening stance a second ti, causing the boy's eyes to widen instantly!

This ti, the power Iroh unleashed was significantly stronger than before.

Yet Iroh hadn't altered his stance or made any strange movents; it looked as if his power had simply multiplied out of nowhere.

"How did you do that?"

Kahn asked curiously.

Iroh dropped his stance, winked mischievously, and replied.

"It's very simple."

"You'll be able to do it once you've truly mastered your Firebending."

What did that an?

Kahn looked confused.

Iroh smiled, ruffled Kahn's hair, and spoke again.

"Let give you a hint."

"Why is there a difference in difficulty between the Firebending forms you taught yourself and the ones taught by your academy instructors?"

"That's because...!"

Kahn stopped mid-sentence, a sudden realization flashing through his mind like a spark of lightning.

"I see!"
