Now reading: Chapter 36 36: The Right Timing from Avatar: Fire Emperor, a Action novel by bendebirilkivar.

Kahn hadn't expected that after his first fruitless search for Ursa's disappearance, the second operation would co so quickly.

"Mother's room has obviously been tidied up."

"If those things weren't thrown away by Father, then they must have been stored sowhere by him."

Azula said with certainty.

Given Ozai's personality, he would definitely keep so key information.

"Isn't it too rushed?"

"After all, not much ti has passed since the last operation."

Kahn worried that such actions might attract Ozai's attention, as the movents were too frequent.

However, Azula appeared very relaxed.

"Don't worry, this is just a normal exploration activity."

"I'll call Mai and Ty Lee to participate with ."

Kahn frowned upon hearing this.

"There's no need to involve them, is there?"

"It's too dangerous."

"Ha! What are you thinking?"

Azula laughed, spreading her hands.

"Relax, it really is just a 'normal' exploration activity."

Mai and Ty Lee, as playmates who grew up with her, were definitely not as obedient as Zuko.

In fact, the two of them had been exploring the palace with her since childhood, even sneaking into the council chamber.

They definitely knew much more about the entire palace than Zuko, the legitimate prince.

"You guys are truly amazing."

Kahn was once again awestruck.

How could such incredible people exist in this world?

He was so impressed he had nothing to say.

So, the plan for this operation was very simple.

They would conduct a normal exploration activity, and during it, he and Azula would casually check for any suspicious places.

However, since that was the case, Kahn also had so ideas and asked:

"What about Zuko?"

"Aren't you going to call him?"

After talking with Zuko last ti, he had been considering how to get him to join.

Now seed like a good opportunity.

Since Zuko also wanted to find Ursa, their goals aligned, so the success rate should be high.

"Call him?"

"If you can manage it, sure, but he's a good boy and never does such dangerous activities with us."

Azula shrugged indifferently, subtly mocking Zuko.

Not only did Zuko not explore with them, but he also often tattled on her, which was one source of their conflict.

Of course, things were much better now.

He hadn't reported her for climbing over the palace wall to find Kahn anymore.

So their relationship had eased quite a bit recently, though they still didn't quite see eye to eye.

Hearing Azula say this, Kahn finally revealed his true intentions.

"Tell , should we tell Zuko about our plan?"

"Ha?! Are you crazy!?"

However, Azula's reaction was even more resistant than he expected.

She spoke in disbelief.

"Are you still not awake?"

"Or have you gone mad?"

"Do you want our plan to fall through?"

"Or are you saying you don't want to continue and are deliberately trying to do this?"

"Are you dissatisfied with ?"

"Stop!"

Kahn was a bit stunned by Azula's barrage of questions like fireballs.

After a mont to recover, he said exasperatedly:

"Is it really that exaggerated?"

"Is Zuko really that much of an annoyance to you?"

"Heh, what do you think?"

Azula chuckled scornfully.

"His skill isn't good, his judgnt isn't good, and even his acting isn't good."

"It would already be decent if that guy didn't drag us down."

"However, if he's willing to obey my commands unconditionally, I might consider it a little."

"Uh..."

Kahn was montarily unable to retort.

After all, the person speaking was Azula, and Zuko indeed had a slight gap in various aspects compared to her.

Ah, this...

However, since he had made up his mind, he wouldn't give up easily.

So he tried to defend Zuko from a different angle.

"In terms of ability, he certainly can't compare to you, but he's definitely not bad."

"You should know that too."

"Bringing him in would actually help us a lot."

"At least we wouldn't need to worry about avoiding him in future operations, and we'd have more flexibility with ti."

"Also, Zuko actually has the sa thoughts as you..."

Kahn recounted his conversation with Zuko that day and his concerns.

Azula listened, crossed her arms, and sneered.

"After all that, you're actually just worried about his safety and plan to take care of him like a baby?"

Kahn corrected her.

"It's help between friends."

"If you were in danger, I would help you the sa way."

Azula paused.

Her attitude softened slightly, but her words remained unyielding.

"Say what you want, I still don't agree."

"I don't trust him."

At this point, Kahn really had no choice.

He hadn't expected Azula's attitude to be so firm.

It seed he could only find a solution through Iroh.

"Alright."

Kahn had no choice but to accept, sighing.

"Are your prejudices against him too deep?"

"People grow."

"Hasn't Zuko stopped tattling on you?"

"Besides, you're siblings."

Hearing Kahn say this, Azula suddenly froze.

Indeed, as Kahn said, upon closer reflection, Zuko didn't seem as annoying as he used to be.

Siblings...

Mother...

For so reason, Azula suddenly thought of Ursa.

When her mother was still alive, she always hoped that she and her brother could get along well...

So, when Kahn had already given up, Azula suddenly changed her mind.

"However, if you really want him to join, it's not impossible."

"Huh?"

Azula's sudden change caught Kahn off guard for a mont.

Then he brightened up and said happily:

"Really?"

Seeing Kahn's expression, Azula couldn't help but show a hint of a smile.

She suddenly felt that this might not be so bad after all.

"Mm-hmm, as long as he can et the requirents I set..."

"Of course, no problem!"

"Just na them, and I'll go tell him!"

Kahn patted his chest and vowed confidently.

"You and Azula have been secretly searching for clues about Mother's disappearance!?"

After Kahn told Zuko the truth, Zuko's eyes widened in shock.

He felt disbelief and didn't know what to say for a long ti.

"I know it's surprising, but there are all sorts of reasons for it..."

Kahn's expression was full of emotion.

After all, he had initially been 'threatened' into joining, but that point didn't need to be explained to Zuko.

Zuko recovered.

His expression was sowhat complex as he said:

"It is indeed very surprising."

"What I didn't expect even more was that Azula cared so much about Mother."

"Indeed, but don't say that in front of her."

Azula couldn't stand hearing such words.

Zuko was well aware of this.

"I know."

"So, will you join?"

"Even at the risk of defying your father's orders."

"If you're unwilling, then just pretend you never heard these words."

Kahn gazed at him and asked.

The etiquette taught by his mother since childhood, his fear of Ozai, and his longing for his mother's whereabouts intertwined in his mind.

It made him conflicted.

But finally, Zuko hardened his resolve and gritted his teeth.

"...I'll join!"

"Excellent!"

Kahn smiled, patting Zuko's shoulder with relief.

But soon, his smile took on a mischievous hint.

It made Zuko inexplicably think of Azula.

"Before you join us, you'll have to fulfill a few requirents..."

Hearing this, Zuko inexplicably shivered.
