"So... you have finally arrived." The figure’s voice was deep and powerful, and the throne room shook under the weight of its voice.
Rentaro narrowed his eyes as he stepped forward, and light fell on his face, revealing a man with clear white skin, flowing blue hair that rested on his shoulder, and sparkling blue eyes that glinted off the light.
"I’ve been waiting for you."
[You have encountered the first administrator of the sanctuary!]
[Olympian Ranker — Hypnos.]
Rentaro’s eyes widened in horror as he saw the title "Olympian Ranker."
’An Olympian ranker?? As in, from New Olympus!?’
The na Hypnos, was no pushover either. He was a literal god, though not among the major Olympian rulers in New Olympus.
And yet... soone like him stood as the first administrator of the sanctuary?
"Creator 401, the human known as Rentaro Mizuno." Hypnos said calmly, his gaze lifting only slightly as Rentaro entered.
He studied him slowly.
thodically.
His eyes moved from Rentaro’s posture, to his stance, to the faint traces of energy clinging to him, taking in every detail without hurry.
"You are nothing special, after all you are just a lowly human, yet you managed to cause quite a stir in New Olymp-."
"New Olympus..." Rentaro chid in imdiately, cutting Hypnos off. "You an those bastards watching us?"
"...." Hypnos went silent, then his eyes slowly narrowed as he stared at Rentaro’s determined eyes.
"You... You already know too much." He finally said.
"So Sylvaria was right..."Rentaro gave a low grunt, his eyes narrowing as his instincts sharpened into sothing almost predatory.
Ever since Sylvaria told him her grandfather’s theory, it confird his suspicions. Soone, or sothing had been watching them for a while now, lingering just beyond perception like a shadow pressed against reality.
But even he wasn’t prepared for the truth that followed next.
The presence wasn’t an enemy in hiding or so rogue observer. It was far worse in scale, far heavier in implication, it was New Olympus itself.
"Rentaro Mizuno." Hypnos said calmly as he stood slowly to his feet, revealing his blue robe, decorated cleanly by a silk golden linen and diamonds. "Your existence has created a great shift in the programming of the sanctuary, and now, your imdiate execution has been ordered in order to restore balance."
[Ding! Your execution has been ordered!]
The notification panel flickered again in Rentaro’s line of vision, cutting through the air like a sudden pulse of light.
Then it stabilized for an instant.
The next ssage appeared, just one word, centered and glowing in stark, bright red, cold, deliberate, and impossible to ignore.
[SURVIVE.]
Hypnos vanished from Rentaro’s line of sight without warning, no movent, no sound, just absence, as if reality had briefly forgotten he existed.
The next second, Rentaro’s vision blurred.
Before he could regain focus, the path stretching between him and the throne erupted.
A violent explosion detonated through the space, tearing forward in a straight, annihilating line that erased everything it touched in an instant.
The impact hit him like a collapsing world.
Rentaro felt his ribs crack under the force, air ripped from his lungs as his pupils dilated in shock. His body was violently hurled backward, smashing through the massive doors of the throne room, then tearing through the towering pillars of the central hall like they were paper.
Finally, he slamd hard into the distant wall, the force draining out of him as he slid down to the ground, weakened and barely conscious, the aftermath ringing violently through the shattered space.
Hypnos stepped forward through the remnants of the obliterated throne room doors.
He moved with calm inevitability, unbothered that the human in front of him didn’t pose a threat.
Beyond him, Rentaro struggled to stand on his feet, blood trickling down his mouth in heavy spills, he felt like almost every bone in his body was a single touch from being shattered.
He forced himself upward, trembling as pain laced through every breath, and his body refused to fully obey him. His hands scraped against the broken floor as he tried to rise, his vision wavered, and his consciousness clinging by threads.
Hypnos stopped a short distance away from jim.
Looking down, his gaze was empty, almost detached, yet heavy in a way that pressed against Rentaro’s awareness more than any physical force.
There was no anger in it, no urgency. Only certainty.
As Rentaro pushed himself further upright, unsteady and defiant even in ruin, Hypnos simply observed him.
"Impressive. Even after taking my blow, you’re still in one piece. That alone proves how dangerous you are for a re mortal, and you must be eliminated imdiately."
Hypnos slowly stretched his hand forward, then placed the tip of his thumb against his middle finger in a calm, precise motion.
"I watched your battle against that human before I called you here, that was quite the interesting technique you employed. Gathering your Ki into a single point before firing it off in a straight line of condensed might."
Hypnos extended his hand as energy gathered in his palm, and the power alone shook the entire temple. A deep vibration ran through the structure, cracking the pillars in the center hall one after another as the building trembled under the pressure.
"What did you call it again? Well, it doesn’t matter."
Hypnos released the tension between his thumb and the tip of his middle finger, snapping his hand forward in a precise motion.
"Goodbye... Creator 401, although your existence is a threat, it was quite amusing to watch."
A thin line of energy cut through the air towards Rentaro, warping space around it as it passed. Even the faintest traces of moisture in its path vanished instantly, evaporating into nothing as the atmosphere itself seed to recoil from its heat and pressure.
Rentaro’s eyes widened as he felt the danger behind the beam of energy, if it should so much as touch him, he’d definitely die.
[You have activated the ability (Tiless)]
The beam of energy surged forward, and as it drew nearer, the air itself began to fracture under its pressure. Reality seed to crack apart, falling away in shimring blue fragnts like shattered glass, scattering to the ground as the attack pressed onward.
[Your ability (Tiless), has failed.]
"What!?" Rentaro’s eyes widened in disbelief as the beam surged forward.
[You have activated the ability (Tiless)]
As he activated Tiless, the sa results occurred.
[Your ability (Tiless), has failed.]
As the beam reached point blank, the beam of energy glinted in Rentaro’s eyes.
[You have activated the ability (Tiless)]
[You have activated the passive skill (Heaven’s Authority)]
A massive explosion tore through the hall, consuming everything in a blinding surge of force. Stone, pillars, and sacred architecture were obliterated in an instant, leaving only the hollow, trembling outer shell of the temple standing amid the ruin.
Hypnos closed his eyes, exhaling a slow sigh of relief as the pressure in the air finally settled. It was done.
He began to turn away, but then he heard it.
A faint, broken heave.
His eyes widened slightly in quiet disbelief.
As the dust cloud slowly thinned, Rentaro was revealed on the ground, still alive. He was breathing heavily, vision blurred, his body trembling as it struggled to respond.
His Soul-Energy was nearly depleted, and every inch of him looked like it was on the verge of collapse.
"You’re still alive?"
At the last mont, Rentaro improvised as quickly as he could. He used the Heaven’s Authority to shift the trajectory of the beam away from him, then he used Tiless to avoid the explosion, leaving him unhard.
However, by utilizing two divine grade skills at the sa ti, his Soul-Energy depleted almost completely, leaving him defenseless and greatly weakened.
"How persistent, it seems I underestimated you. I had no intention of wasting my abilities on you, but now you’ve proven to that in order to eliminate you, I must not hold back."
Hypnos stretched his hand forward, slowly. Then a quiet breath left his lips as he muttered, "Perfect Slumber."
A dense black orb of energy ford around Rentaro, swelling outward before sealing shut and completely encasing him in suffocating darkness.
Inside, the void twisted.
Visions began to flood his mind, too vivid, too real. A woman screaming in agony, a child writhing in pain. Then fire rained from the sky, consuming an entire city in endless waves of destruction.
Rentaro’s breath hitched as the scenes blurred together, not like illusions, but like mories carved into his very soul, yet none of them belonged to him.
He scread loudly as the darkness pressed deeper, forcing him to feel every second as if it were truly happening.
"Perfect Slumber. My ability causes an endless rain of my victims’ worst and greatest nightmare, and eventually, that trauma and loss damages them psychologically and drains all their energy, killing them in the process. It’s over, you cannot defy the authority that sent to kill you anymore."
Everything went silent as Rentaro’s screams vanished inside the black orb, and for a mont it seed the fight was finally over.
Then, as Hypnos turned away, a crack split the orb.
A blue blinding light erupted outward, shattering it completely in a burst of force.
"What!?" Hypnos raised his hand against the wind and looked back in surprise.
When it cleared, Rentaro was standing upright, eyes closed, still alive.
Hypnos watched as Rentaro stood motionless for a heartbeat, then his eyes snapped open.
His blue cornea had changed, reshaping into the form of a clock face, where the short hand and long hand moved within his gaze like living symbols of ti itself.
"Hypnos, the Son of Nyx, you are a fool." Rentaro’s voice shifted as he spoke, growing deep and distorted, layered with a strange dual resonance, as if sothing else was echoing through him at the sa ti.
"I—Impossible..." Hypno’s eyes widened as he rembered it clearly, the ancient voice from long ago.
"In the end, their authority ant nothing." Rentaro said as he stepped forward slowly, his transford eyes narrowing slightly as he stared down at Hypnos.
Hypnos’ brief flicker of shock slowly turned to a quiet chuckle, then he said. "I’m actually shocked."
Imdiately, he stretched out his hand again, and activated the Perfect Slumber, but before it could completely engulf Rentaro’s body again, it shattered into a blue brilliant light.
He gritted his teeth and tried repeatedly, but it ended up in the sa results, shattering to pieces.
Then slowly Rentaro raised his right hand, then placed the tip of his thumb on his middle finger, and a torrent of energy began spiraling around his fist viscously as he said in his dual voice. "It seems you forgot, so I’ll remind you. Throughout all creation, I alone, am the perfect being."
Then, he flicked his fingers, and Hypnos’s eyes widened to its limits as the torrent of energy glinted in his eyes.
