Daniel let out a sigh and tried to calm his mind. A blue-ranked dungeon… He didn't know whether he could actually clear it or not.

A blue-ranked dungeon typically had at least three B-rank beasts, and if he was unlucky and it turned out to be a high-tier one, it might even have peak B-rank corrupted beasts inside.

In other words, it was possible that the monsters inside this dungeon were stronger than Azarath. And he wasn't yet at the level where he could defeat soone like Azarath.

"How do you plan to save them?" Daniel looked at Philip and August and asked.

The two exchanged glances, then Philip answered.

"We contacted the capital and requested they send one of the country's top B-ranks. Before you ask, yes, we told them about the Eleven Keys—but they still refused."

What should he do? Wait for a strong B-rank to arrive, or act on his own?

"How long will it take for that B-rank to get here?" Joe asked.

"Between two to six hours," this ti August replied—and his answer made Daniel's eyes widen in shock.

"Two to six hours? Are you kidding ?" Daniel didn't know whether to laugh or cry. God only knew whether his sister and her friends could even survive that long.

August fell silent and didn't respond. He knew very well how absurd and long that wait was, but the higher-ups had said that's how it is, and he couldn't argue.

"I'm going in," Daniel said firmly.

"Are you joking, kid? You're only a D-rank! You don't stand a chance!" Philip felt like he was hearing so kind of absurd joke.

"You got a better idea?"

"If we wanted to send in a D-rank, we would've just sent one of the teachers here. And even they are at least B-rank," Philip rejected the idea and didn't allow it.

There was no way he'd let a D-rank enter and take up a slot in the dungeon's entry limit—if that happened, no one else would be able to go in and rescue them.

"I want to use my reward—my right to enter any dungeon I choose solo," Daniel growled and looked at August.

"You know that reward doesn't work like that," August rejected it firmly.

"You don't trust ?"

"Kid, I need a reason to trust you. We're talking about the lives of eleven people here. This isn't a joke."

Daniel sighed again. He didn't want to reveal his abilities this early, but it seed he had no choice.

He imdiately circulated his mana essence to the surface of his skin and began to float.

"….."

"You can fly? That should be impossible! You're just a D-rank!" Philip felt like he was dreaming for a second.

Although even in his wildest dreams, he wouldn't have dared to imagine a D-rank Awakened being able to fly.

The other teachers had their jaws dropped in shock—they didn't even dare to speak.

Only August, while clearly shocked and surprised, was still able to maintain so composure.

To make sure these idiots let him through, Daniel released part of his spiritual power. His spiritual force was on par with a B-rank and could easily convince them.

Feeling Daniel's spiritual pressure again, Philip slapped himself and, once he was sure he wasn't dreaming, looked at August.

"What kind of monster is this? There's no way… Is he really a D-rank? Are you sure he's not hiding his rank?"

"I'm sure he's a D-rank," August sighed and confird. He knew Daniel had gotten stronger, but he didn't expect this much progress.

"Kid, I was gone for what—one or two years? What the hell have you been doing?" Joe was in even worse shape than the others. When he left the city, Daniel was just as talentless as him.

How the hell did he suddenly turn into this monster of a genius?

"So what now? Can I go or not?" Daniel repeated his question.

August and Philip looked at each other. Daniel had shown he was nearly on par with a B-rank, but Philip was still a bit hesitant.

"You can enter. But don't forget—the lives of eleven people, including your sister, are in your hands now," August nodded and granted him permission.

Philip looked at August again and could only sigh. If the president of the Awakened Association himself trusted this kid, then he had no reason to object.

"Thank you," Daniel said, and walked toward the portal. Though right before taking the final step, he looked back at Philip and August.

"Do you have a B or A-rank sword?" He had nearly forgotten that he lost his weapon during the fight with Azarath.

If he entered without a weapon, his combat ability would drop significantly and his chances of failure would rise.

Philip and August shook their heads.

"Wait! I've got sothing!" Joe suddenly shouted and quickly ran over to him.

"Oh? Why do you even carry a weapon around?" Daniel raised his eyebrows a bit.

"You forgot what my dad's company does? Haha, hold on a sec," Joe said and unzipped his waist pouch.

Even though it looked like a regular pouch, it actually contained a whole storage dinsion. Joe spent a couple minutes searching, but couldn't find a sword.

"Sorry, looks like I don't have any swords. You okay with a spear?" He pulled out a golden spear that radiated a terrifying, powerful aura.

"Well, I guess that works," Daniel took the spear and thanked him, then imdiately stepped into the portal.

As soon as he entered, the portal's color shifted from blue to red. The entry limit had been reached, and no one else could go in.

"Let's hope he makes it. Otherwise, we're not just losing eleven people—we're losing a prodigy too," Philip sighed.

August didn't say anything and just stared at the portal.

anwhile, right after entering, Daniel found himself inside a stream of water?

A/N:The pacing of the story has slowed down a bit — sorry about that. But when I try to write 3–4 chapters a day, the pace naturally drops without realizing it. I'll try to fix that in the upcoming chapters.
