Even though he wanted to call as soon as possible, it was still a bit too early.
He collapsed onto his bed and fell asleep—but not before setting his fallen ones on standby, just in case anything happened so they could protect his family.
It didn’t take long before he woke up with sunlight shining on his face. He looked at the clock, picked up his phone, and made a call.
"Oh? Daniel, is sothing wrong? Why are you calling?" An old man’s voice ca from the other end of the line.
"Hello, Mr. August. Actually, sothing’s co up, and I wanted to ask for your help," Daniel replied, then explained his problem.
Of course, he didn’t ntion the Goblin Guild and decided to hide that part for now. Besides, even if he said anything, August wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.
"What? A few assassins tried to kill you? But why?"
"I don’t know either. Unfortunately, before I could ask any more questions, the assassin blew himself up."
"Well, assassins are always known for keeping secrets, so I guess it’s not too surprising. It’s fine, I’ll send you an address. Bring your family there—it’s best if you live sowhere else for a while," August said, then ended the call.
Daniel then headed to the living room to see his family. Naturally, he had no plans to tell them anything and make them panic.
"So you’re finally awake?" Alice said with a sarcastic tone.
Daniel ignored her and sat on his chair, thinking about what excuse he could use to explain moving to a new place.
After that, Liana served breakfast for everyone and sat down herself. However, she noticed her son’s tired face and asked:
"What’s wrong? Every ti you look like this, it ans sothing’s happened."
"Well, we need to move sowhere else for a while." He couldn’t co up with any excuse, so he decided not to say anything at all.
"For what?" Liana asked with a frown, and the two other girls also turned their attention to him.
"Well, I can’t say much right now, but it’s due to so special circumstances. Mr. August, the head of the Awakened Association, told it’s better not to say anything."
"What? The head of the Awakened Association? Is this about my custody?" Tiana asked in surprise.
Daniel didn’t say anything and just stayed silent. Letting them misunderstand wasn’t such a bad thing either.
"If Mr. August said that, then it must be sothing important. Where are we going? And how long will we stay?" Liana didn’t want to agree at first, but when she heard it was by August’s request, she had no choice.
"Mr. August said he’ll send the address soon. As for how long... probably until we go to the capital."
"Well, I wouldn’t mind moving to a new house. I’ve been tired of this one for a long ti," Alice said with excitent.
After that, they asked a few more questions, and Daniel answered as much as he could and thought was necessary.
After breakfast, everyone went to their rooms to pack their bags and get ready to leave.
Daniel also packed a few sets of clothes, and right then, he heard his phone ringing. He picked it up and saw that Mr. August had sent him an address.
Once everyone was ready, Daniel called them over, and they headed to the car. They put their bags in the trunk and then got in.
Daniel drove to the address the head of the Awakened Association had sent him. It was about a thirty-minute drive from their house.
When they arrived, they realized it was a gated community, surrounded by walls, and even had a guard checkpoint at the entrance.
"I’m a guest of Mr. August," Daniel said to the guard.
"Mr. August told us he’ll have a guest today. Please state your na."
"Daniel Noir."
"Alright, you can enter," the guard said, and the gates opened.
Daniel nodded and drove into the community. The mont they entered, it felt like they had stepped into a different world.
The mana was much thicker, the air was cleaner, and even the houses were incredibly luxurious.
"Oh my god, I didn’t know a place like this existed in our city," Liana said in awe.
"We’re going to live sowhere like this?" Excitent was clear in Alice’s voice.
"This is the luxury and powerful district of the city of Santcis. I ca here once before with my forr family for a party," Tiana said, drawing everyone’s attention.
"Luxury district, huh? That ans it must be really safe," Daniel murmured to himself.
In fact, he could sense all kinds of defensive and security arrays throughout the area.
It didn’t take long for them to reach the exact address August had sent—it was a luxurious villa in the eastern part of the community.
Everyone got out of the car, and Daniel called August.
"You’ve arrived? Hold on, I’m coming out now," said the head of the Awakened Association and hung up.
Luckily, they didn’t have to wait long before the villa doors opened and a stylish old man stepped out.
"Hello again, Mr. August," Daniel stepped forward and waved.
"Hey, kid. Looks like you’re alright," August nodded and checked Daniel’s body.
"I didn’t tell them anything. If possible, please don’t say anything either."
August nodded, then approached the three won and greeted them. Liana thanked him for all the help he had given them so far.
"This is one of my houses. For a few reasons, I hope you’ll live here for a while," he told them.
"Thank you so much, Mr. August," all four of them said as they thanked him, and the girls went inside the house with their mother after saying goodbye.
"You don’t need to worry about security here. As long as you’re here, no one will dare to attack you," August told Daniel once they were alone.
"Thank you so much for your help. Now I don’t have to worry about my family," Daniel thanked him again.
"If anything happens, call ," August said and left after saying goodbye.
He had responsibilities as the head of the Awakened Association and had to return to handle them.
Daniel brought the bags inside and they settled into the villa. The rest of the day was spent getting familiar with the house and its surroundings. They even managed to et two of their neighbors.
The most surprising part was that the villa even had rooms designed for Awakened training, plus a ga room, pool, and jacuzzi.
"When we go to the capital, I need to buy a house like this," Daniel was truly amazed by the villa’s features.
Their day passed just like that. At night, everyone went to sleep in the bedrooms they had chosen.
The next morning, after having breakfast, they got ready to go to court.
