"As well for the prophet, he knew everything."
"That’s what surprises ," Daniel said as he looked into Velmiran’s eyes. "The Prophet knew everything, and yet he did nothing. He just watched."
"There are rules you don’t understand, kid," Velmiran said with a smirk. "As long as I wasn’t harming the faith, the Prophet couldn’t act."
"I see... That’s why you did nothing until the Day of Ascension."
"You filthy human, I never planned to destroy Eternity Faith. I wanted to take it over. But your arrival ruined everything," the Noble Demon growled after a mont of silence.
"So all this slaughter and the deaths of innocents are your fault. Your gods won’t forgive you."
But to Velmiran’s surprise, Daniel only laughed—a deep, honest laugh that made the demon frown.
"What’s so funny? Are you going crazy from fear?"
"No. I’m just laughing at the fact that you think I’d feel guilty just because I’m human. That doesn’t work on ." He drew his sword and pointed it at him.
"Enough nonsense. Let’s finish this."
This ti, Velmiran was the one who started laughing—though his laughter was twisted and terrifying, as if it ca straight from hell.
"Suit yourself." He grinned and suddenly vanished.
Daniel frowned hard, but before he could analyze the situation, he realized the demon had appeared right above him.
"Shit." Velmiran’s fists ca down, but Daniel managed to block them just in ti with his sword—though it still sent him flying several ters back.
"I don’t get it. The energy in your body is far lower than mine... and yet, this physical power! Human, you really are interesting. I’m actually starting to get tempted to turn you into a demon." Velmiran grinned.
From his point of view, Daniel was an entire rank below him. Yet the fact that he’d managed to block that punch proved that this human was stronger than he looked.
After all, he had already killed three of his generals. What Velmiran couldn’t understand was how Daniel still had enough strength left after doing that.
"Thanks, but I’d rather stay human... though I wouldn’t mind turning you into a Fallen," Daniel replied with a smile.
"Fallen, huh? So that’s what those things of yours are called." The Noble Demon laughed and launched another attack.
Velmiran cracked his fists together, releasing a wave of heat and darkness toward Daniel.
[ Molten Destruction Fists ]
The ground split apart, and Daniel barely dodged with a leap to the side. The Heavens Honor sword glowed in his hand, but before he could counter, Velmiran appeared in front of him with inhuman speed and slamd a fist into his chest.
The impact launched Daniel backward. Blood sprayed from his mouth as pain consud his thoughts, and he struggled to keep control.
His bones shattered under the pressure, and blood flowed from his mouth. The pain was like a blade tearing through his body. He imdiately activated Mana Healing. A green aura wrapped around him, healing his broken bones and closing his wounds.
Unfortunately, the Noble Demon didn’t give him any ti. He unleashed:
[ Hell Scream ]
A sonic attack that deafened Daniel and scrambled his mind.
’Damn it, a ntal attack.’ He wanted to curse but had no ti.
His mind was overwheld with fear and chaos, worsening by the second.
Daniel dropped to one knee, but his eyes sparked. If he couldn’t block the attack, maybe he could just make it stop?
He activated:
[ Eyes of Destruction ]
Black and red beams shot from his eyes, hitting Velmiran in the chest. The demon staggered back but blocked the beams using:
[ Impenetrable Aura ]
The beams shattered on contact with his shield and vanished.
"Is that all you’ve got, human?"
Daniel took a deep breath and stood.
He activated:
[ Strike of Destruction ]
A deadly black aura enveloped the Heavens Honor blade as he charged at Velmiran with blinding speed. His sword clashed with the demon’s fists, sending black and fiery sparks flying in all directions.
Each of Daniel’s strikes grew stronger, but Velmiran responded with:
[ Demonic Quake ]
The ground beneath Daniel cracked and dark energy burst out. One of the fissures caught his leg. A blade of shadowy energy slashed across it, blood gushed, and Daniel cried out as he fell.
The pain was unbearable, but he activated Mana Healing again. The green light closed the wound—but fatigue was sinking deep into his body.
At that mont, Daniel stared at Velmiran’s shadow. With focus, he activated:
[ Shadow Weapons ]
From the demon’s shadow, sharp black blades erged and flew at Velmiran.
One of them slashed his shoulder, and black blood splashed onto the ground. Velmiran roared, but Daniel seized the mont and stabbed him in the side with a Strike of Destruction.
Velmiran retaliated with a punch that shattered Daniel’s cheekbone. Blood poured down his face, and his vision blurred—but once again, Mana Healing kept him standing.
"Healing skills are really important, huh?" Daniel laughed—even in this condition, he could still laugh.
Honestly, things weren’t going too bad. He hadn’t even needed to use skills like Apocalypse or Self-Transcendence yet.
"Enough gas, human! I’ll rip you to shreds with my own hands! Then feed you to my demon hounds for lunch! You bastard, how dare you injure !"
Velmiran, furious and wounded, once again unleashed:
[ Molten Destruction Fists ]
Daniel dodged, but the heat scorched his skin and turned his clothes to ash. His body was covered in wounds and burns. Every breath stabbed into his chest like a blade.
With the last of his strength, he activated:
[ Eternal Judgnt ]
The gray sky suddenly turned crimson, as if blood was flowing through it. The Laws of Eternity, Death, and Destruction rged within him.
He decided to boost it using both mana essence and raw mana energy. The skill’s power instantly surged even higher.
He also tapped into Death energy and that tiny bit of Eternity energy he could use.
From the sky, a massive bloody sword ford—pure destructive energy. Velmiran’s eyes widened as he stared at it, trying to resist with his Impenetrable Aura.
But the bloody sword shattered his shield and pierced through his heart.
Velmiran let out a deafening scream as his body exploded into red and black light.
Daniel dropped to his knees, gasping for breath. His body was torn up—deep wounds, burns, bruises everywhere. Blood poured from his arm, and pain throbbed through every bone.
With the last drops of mana, he activated Mana Healing once more. This ti it worked slowly. The wounds closed little by little, but both physical and ntal exhaustion engulfed him.
He leaned on the Heavens Honor.
"Huh? What the hell?" He suddenly noticed sothing and frowned.
Why didn’t any system notification appear saying he had killed the Noble Demon?
To his surprise, he noticed the demon’s blood on the ground starting to float.
"Hahaha! Did you really think killing would be that easy, human?"
