Daniel stared at the sky with tired eyes. This was his first defeat, and it honestly felt strange.

It wasn’t like he thought he would remain undefeated through his entire journey, but to suddenly lose like this—it felt weird.

He was used to winning, even against enemies far stronger than himself. Defeat was sothing he had never actually experienced.

But now? He had lost. And not to a Corruption Beast, or to so powerful S-rank Awakened, or sothing like that—but to a genius from his own generation.

Of course, there were reasons for it. Lana was a full rank above him, and she could use all her skills and the power of both of her Laws.

anwhile, Daniel was restricted to using only the power of the Law of Death; he couldn’t even use the Eternal Bloom because of what had happened to it.

All of his skills were, for now, unusable. And more importantly, this was just a sparring match.

If it had been a life-and-death fight, things would have gone very differently. In that kind of fight, he wouldn’t care about anything—he would definitely have used Eternal Energy.

Still, even then, he wasn’t entirely sure he could win with just the power of two Laws alone—he would most likely, almost certainly, need his skills.

"You really are a monster, kid. A freak of a monster." Schneitz walked over to him, ignoring his granddaughter entirely, and stared at Daniel.

Lana was also lying on the ground, gasping for air, clearly drained from the fight.

"I’ll take that as a complint," Daniel laughed.

"Of course. You’re just a B-rank, yet you could match my granddaughter. And you didn’t even use any skills. Why?" the old man asked curiously.

The outco had completely exceeded his expectations. Honestly, when the fight started, he thought his granddaughter would defeat this boy in five minutes at most.

But his view of the world was shattered. This boy had lasted a full thirty minutes and hadn’t used a single skill—and Lana had still almost lost.

This level of talent couldn’t be described with words. In fact, Schneitz even felt a bit of pity for Kaelos.

If this kid was given enough ti to reach his peak potential, he could definitely destroy Kaelos.

Instead of kidnapping his family, Kaelos should have just eliminated Daniel entirely. But he had made a huge mistake.

"Well, I have my reasons," Daniel smiled, choosing not to answer directly. He wanted to keep the fact that he couldn’t currently use his skills hidden for as long as possible.

Not that he would lie about it or anything—it was just better not to say anything at all.

Schneitz nodded, then waved his hand. All the small cuts and wounds on Daniel and Lana’s bodies instantly healed.

"Take him and finish his registration. I have sothing I need to do."

"Understood, Grandfather," Lana nodded.

"So, this ans you’re going to help ?" Daniel asked.

"I’m heading to see Kaelos now," Schneitz nodded. Suddenly, the sky in front of him shattered like glass, revealing a void.

Without hesitation, he stepped inside, and the sky returned to normal.

"Don’t worry. Now that my grandfather’s gone there personally, your family will definitely be saved."

"I hope so."

"Anyway, co on. Let’s get your guild registration done." Lana gestured for him to follow.

They headed into the guild building. While they walked, she explained so things he needed to know.

When they reached the registration officer, the clerk was shocked to see the young lady herself and rushed to handle Daniel’s registration as quickly as possible.

"Na?"

"Daniel Noir."

"Age?"

"Late eighteen."

"Rank? And up to which floor of the Tower have you cleared?" the officer asked as he logged the data.

"B-rank, second floor."

"Understood... huh?" The officer’s eyes widened, staring at the data that appeared in front of him, then at the handso, white-haired boy.

According to the official records in the system, this boy had only Awakened less than three months ago.

He had cleared two floors of the Tower and reached B-rank in three months? How was that even possible?

"Do your job," Lana noticed the strange look on the clerk’s face and told him firmly.

"Ah, sorry," the officer flinched and quickly completed Daniel’s registration, handing him a card.

"This is your card. You are ranked—" Before he could finish explaining, the young lady raised her hand to stop him.

"I’ll explain it to him myself." She grabbed Daniel and pulled him out of there.

"Never thought I’d see Lady Lana act like that," the officer muttered to himself after they left.

"Well, congratulations. You’re now an official mber of the Everlight Moon Guild," Lana said with a smile on her face.

"Huh, didn’t expect it to be that fast," Daniel said, glancing at his card.

"Of course it’s not. Normally, the registration process takes about a week. Yours went that fast because my grandfather ordered it and I was here with you."

"I see. Anyway, I guess there were so things you needed to explain to ?"

"Right. This is about your card. This is our guild emblem. It has your na and your rank written on it. Your current rank is Luminous Moon. There are five ranks total: Dormant Moon, Awakened Moon, Luminous Moon, Warrior Moon, Moon Lord, and finally Moon Guardian." Lana explained.

"Each rank shows your importance, your level of power, and your standing within the guild. I’m a Warrior Moon. The top decision-makers in the guild are the Moon Lords, while my father and grandfather are Moon Guardians."

"I see. So, is there a specific way to increase your rank? And are there other benefits?" Daniel asked curiously.

"Of course. The higher your rank, the higher your monthly pay, the greater your standing in the guild, and the more access you get to the guild’s treasury and library. Also, if you beco a Moon Lord, you can take part in guild decision-making."

"As for how to increase your rank... the stronger you get and the more achievents you bring to the guild, the higher your rank will rise," Lana answered.

"I see. Thanks for the explanation. Is there anything else I should know?"

"Well, there are so rules. Since you impressed my grandfather—and even —so much, you can ignore most of them. But there are still so you have to follow."
