risia Island, des Republic

Next to the massive portal, a large number of black vehicles and different helicopters were stationed. From reporters to staff, guards, and even officials of the Awakened Federation, all stood there.

Most of their faces were frowning, and it wasn’t clear what they were thinking. Still, the atmosphere was heavy, and it was obvious that good news hadn’t co.

Two familiar figures stood there, one a young, beautiful girl who stared at the purple portal with worry and a frown on her face, and the other a middle-aged man who looked exactly like the girl.

"Still no news about their situation?" Varnos asked as he stopped one of the Federation officials walking past them.

"No, Mr. Everlight, we still haven’t been able to get any information. Don’t worry, since their life flas are still burning, nothing bad should have happened to them," the Federation official replied before quickly leaving.

Varnos’ face didn’t relax after hearing those words. Instead, his frown deepened. For so reason, the bad premonition in his heart kept growing stronger and stronger.

"Father, what kind of problem could have happened inside? Didn’t they say the team was only supposed to explore the outer layers of the dungeon?" Lana asked, her worry impossible to hide as she looked at her father.

About seven days had passed since Daniel entered seclusion. At first, they had planned to wait until that boy ca out of seclusion and then hand him the leadership of the team that was supposed to enter the dungeon.

But to their surprise, the days went by slowly, and Daniel still hadn’t co out. More importantly, the ti for the raid had arrived, and they had no choice but to head to the island and send the team into the dungeon.

If that boy had been able to co out in ti, naturally, he would have gone there and entered the dungeon himself. However, three days had already passed since the entry began, and there was still no sign of him.

But last night, sothing very bad happened. Their connection with the awakened team inside was completely cut off. Not just them, all the guilds lost contact with their mbers who had been sent in.

Their worry skyrocketed. They tried every possible thod to restore the connection, but no matter how much effort they put in, nothing worked.

They even considered sending in another team, but gathering a team of rank A awakeneds wasn’t easy. Besides, if sothing inside had already happened to the first teams, what could another rank A team even do?

Obviously nothing. Most likely, the new team would also go missing.

That left only one option—sending in an elite team of rank S awakeneds. Conveniently, most of the top guild leaders were present here, so forming a team of five rank S awakeneds and sending them in was possible.

Everything was moving forward, and everyone was ready to put that plan into action. But to their surprise, the Federation and governnt stopped them.

They warned that no rank S awakens were allowed to enter and would not be given permission either. The guilds beca furious and even protested.

But the Federation didn’t care in the slightest and stuck to their stance. No rank S awakeneds other than Federation rank S mbers would be allowed to enter.

What was worse, all the Federation’s rank S awakeneds had already gone in from the start, and now, there was no news from them either.

As a result, the current situation had ford. All the guilds were worried about the awakened they had sent in. After all, every single one of them were talented rank A awakeneds, and among them were individuals with the potential to reach rank S.

"Don’t worry, you heard what he said. Their life flas are still burning, which ans they’re still alive," Varnos sighed as he saw the worry on his daughter’s face and responded.

He assud that sothing inside had disrupted the connection. Even so, he too still felt worried.

"Good thing Daniel didn’t co. It’s like God wanted to protect him. If sothing had happened to him, that old man would’ve skinned alive," he suddenly recalled sothing and let out a sigh of relief.

He knew how much his father, Shnaitz, valued Daniel. If anything happened to the boy, he would’ve definitely skinned him alive and punished him in the harshest ways.

"At first, I was angry he didn’t keep his word, but now I’m really glad he didn’t co." Lana also nodded in agreent.

Daniel was an important friend to her as well. Even though she had been a little mad at him, if sothing had happened to him, she would have blad herself even more.

"But really, isn’t there anything we can do? Do we just have to stand here and wait like this?"

"Unfortunately no, the Federation and governnt have given a strict warning that rank S cannot enter. Sending rank A would be far too risky." Varnos shook his head.

"I can’t understand what’s inside that the Federation and governnt don’t want anyone to discover." Lana growled.

She was certain there had to be sothing in that dungeon, sothing likely of imnse value to the governnt.

"It must be sothing important. I heard Chaos Crystals exist inside this dungeon, so maybe the thing that creates them is there too."

"Really? Sothing like that could be possible?"

"It’s unlikely, but still possible. At the very least, it must be sothing at that level for the governnt to intervene directly." Varnos replied.

"But if that’s the case, wouldn’t it be better if we put all our effort into obtaining it? That thing would definitely help grandfather a lot," Lana asked, confused.

Varnos glanced at his daughter but didn’t answer right away. He had the sa thought but knew it wasn’t realistic.

If there was anyone in the governnt who would want that thing, it would be a Heavenly King, since even such a being would benefit from it.

In fact, an Immortal King could use that thing to take a step further and grow stronger. The temptation was too great.

That was exactly why no one dared to be greedy. If they obtained sothing a Heavenly King wanted and didn’t hand it over, destruction was guaranteed.

The power of a Heavenly King was not sothing they could stand against.

At least, not yet...

"Unfortunately, we don’t have the power to obtain it."

Lana wanted to say sothing else but noticed her phone was ringing. She picked it up and looked at the caller ID.

Her pupils suddenly dilated, and excitent surged through her eyes.

"What is it?"

"Father, it’s Daniel! He’s calling!"
