The Boundless Heavens

Among vast floating islands and endless waterfalls, there stood magnificent palaces and grand mansions, all built in the most beautiful forms of pure gold.

Divine and godlike auras surrounded every structure. Miniature phoenixes and dragons soared across the skies above, circling endlessly in graceful flight.

Inside one of these golden palaces sat a middle-aged man with long golden hair, wearing a silk robe woven from gold and an unknown immortal material. He sat cross-legged in deep tranquility.

Strangely enough, a small dragon was lying in front of him, seemingly asleep. But with a closer look, the purple and black scales made it clear, this was no ordinary dragon, but a Dragon of Chaos, one of the rarest and most powerful breeds, a being with the authority to rule over all dragonkind.

At that mont, a divine aura appeared from afar. At the entrance of the palace, a figure materialized, a slender and elegant woman. Her long hair flowed like a waterfall, and though her face was hidden behind a veil, her beauty was undeniable.

Even veiled, one could easily call her the most beautiful woman in all existence.

She walked barefoot across the golden floor, entering the palace silently. The little dragon sensed an unfamiliar presence and lazily opened its eyes.

But upon recognizing the newcor, it purred softly and went back to sleep.

The woman ignored the dragon and turned her attention to the middle-aged man.

"Our forr friend has been sealed once again," she said, her voice soft and lodic, like a song born from the heavens.

The man slowly opened his eyes upon hearing her words. As he did, it felt as if the worlds collapsed, ti and space shattered, infinite dinsions turned to dust, and existence itself beca aningless.

"As you requested, we guided soone to confront him. Although that mortal couldn’t kill him, he managed to seal him away," the woman continued, calming herself under the imnse pressure his presence generated.

"Good. One of the traitors has been stopped. The Infinite Heavens can remain at peace," the man said softly, his tone calm and kind.

"Still, he’s only one of them," the woman replied, worry showing in her voice. "Many others betrayed us as well, and now they’re recovering one by one. Only one has been sealed, what should we do with the rest?"

"Seal them too," the man said without hesitation. "If possible, kill them. We can’t give the traitors another chance to regain their strength."

"But there’s no trace of the others," she said uneasily.

"The Buried One was more aggressive than the rest, so finding him was easier. Even though he thought he was clever, hiding inside a false reality, we sensed him because he used Candle Buried Faith."

"The rest, however, are much smarter. There’s no sign of them anywhere, especially that one."

When she ntioned "that one," a tremor of fear and dread crossed her voice.

Even she, a being known as one of the Great Gods, couldn’t suppress the terror she felt when thinking about that one.

He alone had nearly destroyed all of the heavens, and if the King of Gods hadn’t used the final weapon that guards the heavens, everything would’ve perished.

"As the Goddess of Fate, finding traces of them shouldn’t be too hard for you," the man said calmly. "No matter how long it takes, even the smallest clue is enough. Once you find one, send it to the God of Knowledge and let him handle the rest."

"I understand. I’ll do my best. We won’t let that catastrophe happen again," she replied.

"What about the corruption spreading across the worlds? Do you think it’s connected to those traitors?" she asked after a pause.

"We haven’t found any connection between them," she answered her own question with hesitation. "Their fate is extrely unclear and tangled, even I can’t see it. It seems their origin lies elsewhere... sothing much darker and far more sinister."

The middle-aged man fell silent, clearly deep in thought.

"How many worlds have been corrupted so far?"

"The number has already surpassed a thousand. We’re trying to stop the spread, but... we’ve failed."

"I see," he said after a mont. "I’ll speak with the King of Gods about this matter. You focus on the traitors, leave the rest to the other gods."

The Goddess of Fate nodded and turned to leave, but before she could step out, the man’s calm voice stopped her again.

"That mortal who sealed The Buried One, is there anything strange about him?"

"The mortal? Aside from being extrely talented and powerful, no. It seems his world chose him as its savior. There’s nothing unusual about his fate either," she replied thoughtfully, a bit surprised that he was suddenly asking about the mortal.

"Keep an eye on him," the man said quietly. "I have a bad feeling about him. There might be sothing hidden from even our sight."

The Goddess of Fate nodded again and left the palace.

After she disappeared, the middle-aged man let out a deep sigh, mories of the past surfacing in his mind, especially that great war.

Countless years have passed since that great war, a war that brought endless catastrophes, infinite deaths, and the destruction of countless worlds.

Many gods perished in that war; beings once considered synonymous with immortality were, for the first ti, truly killed. At that ti, a wave of terror swept across the heavens.

The gods who believed themselves eternal realized that even they could die.

Because of that war, even the source of darkness and corruption has now dared to reveal itself, consuming and defiling worlds one after another.

And what’s even more ironic is that even now, many gods still don’t know why that war began... why the god who was once loved by all, the one considered a brother to the King of Gods, suddenly went mad and tried to destroy the heavens.

"My old friend... did you really have to do it?" he murmured.
