The massive body of Orsius was floating in the void; his cracked armor hung from him like a dead shell, and the demonic aura that once roared like a destructive storm was now leaking out in weak and uneven waves from his wounds.
Daniel walked toward him calmly and without haste, without a bit of excitent, without the slightest sign of victory on his face; as if this result had been obvious to him from the beginning.
It really was. Even though Orsius had the combat power of an S-rank, he had never truly reached that rank, and that alone made him unworthy of even standing against Daniel.
If it wasn’t for that strange thing he used at the end, their fight would’ve ended much earlier.
He placed his hand on Orsius’s forehead, and the energy of death—deep and silent—spread into the demon’s consciousness like the black roots of a cursed tree.

He placed a piece of his own consciousness inside Orsius’s body. At first he could feel the body rejecting it, and the mont it realized it couldn’t force that consciousness out, it began to self-destruct.
Daniel frowned and tried to stop it by force. Thankfully, he succeeded, but a large part of that mind completely collapsed, and many mories were lost.
A faint tremble ran through Orsius’s body. His lifeless pupils moved slightly, and a heavy breath escaped his shattered chest. A mont later, his body rose like a puppet whose strings had been reattached.
But what was standing there was no longer the proud demon general. A foreign will, cold and absolute, was sitting behind his eyes.
Daniel said quietly, "Let’s go." And the darkness of the void broke apart like a shattered mirror.
When they looked around again, they were back in the torture chamber. Orsius opened the door and this ti, not with violence but with precise and orderly movents, guided Daniel back into the cell—actions that had no resemblance to his behavior a few minutes ago.
The door closed with a dry thud, and a heavy silence filled the prison walls.
Kayn and lia, who had seen everything, couldn’t even breathe for a few seconds.
Daniel was unhard; without injuries, without any sign of torture. What was even stranger was that Orsius not only didn’t kill him, but even acted with a kind of invisible respect.
They were completely confused. What exactly happened while they were gone?
"Daniel... what happened? Are you okay?" Kayn finally asked, his voice shaking in a way that even surprised himself.
He knew Daniel had a plan, but everything happened so fast that even he didn’t understand what exactly occurred.
Daniel casually walked forward, sat down by the wall, and leaned his back against the cold stone.
"No problem. Don’t worry." Then he answered in a normal tone:
"That demon... is under my control now." A few seconds later, in a simple tone, he added:
Kayn and lia froze on the spot. Their minds couldn’t even process that sentence.
Controlling a demon general? By a human? That was beyond impossible. How could soone control a demon?
And not just any demon—such a powerful one, inside the demons’ base, right under the eyes of all these demons!
No matter how strong Daniel was, this was too much.
Daniel didn’t explain further.
He just closed his eyes. And when he opened them again, the world had changed.
He was now inside Orsius’s body.
He felt the heaviness of the armor, the explosive power in the muscles, and the wild flow of demonic energy moving through the veins. He thought to himself:
"Switching consciousness... it’s not that strange." This was the first ti he had fully sent his awareness into another body.
He left the cell. In the dark hallways of the prison, demon soldiers imdiately bowed the mont they saw Orsius, lowering their heads and stepping aside respectfully.
Daniel didn’t even look at them.
He had three goals he needed to reach in the shortest ti possible:
First, finding the location of the Pagoda of Eternity.
Second, Lyra’s current location.
And lastly, a way to reach the Demon King’s children.
If he could kidnap them using this body, everything would go much cleaner... and his real body wouldn’t be in danger. In the worst case, they would think one of the generals had betrayed them.
Daniel tried to search through the remaining fragnts of Orsius’s mories, but the damage to the consciousness had taken its toll. Most of the images were broken and blurry. He didn’t know the location of the Pagoda... but he knew soone who did.
His gaze shifted to the horizon. In the distance, a castle stood out, its structure more orderly, its walls polished and more beautiful. It looked nothing like the other fortresses in this base.
After so ti, he reached its gate. Two demon soldiers stood guard at the entrance. The mont they saw Orsius, they dropped to their knees.
"Call Zalkareth. Now." Daniel said with Orsius’s deep, cold voice.
"My lord... he is a bit busy right now. If you allow—" one of the soldiers said hesitantly.
"Move. If you delay it, I’ll tear you both apart." A killing aura leaked from Daniel’s body for a brief mont.
Without another word, the soldier ran inside in panic.
During that ti, Daniel tried to pull out whatever he could about Orsius’s relationship with Zalkareth from the remaining mories; he only understood that this demon wasn’t a warrior, but the mastermind behind all operations in the Gulf Of Sur.
Soone even the generals didn’t move without his approval.
"My lord... Lord Zalkareth has given permission to enter." The soldier returned monts later.
Daniel entered the castle. The interior, unlike the grand exterior, was chaotic, filled with docunts, scrolls, and strategy reports scattered everywhere.
At the center of the room was a massive table covered with a full map of the Gulf Of Sur marked with red and black symbols.
Behind the table sat a tall demon with slender, crown-like horns rising from his head, skin the color of dark ash, and eyes sharp and calculating like a cold blade.
His aura didn’t radiate destructive power, but just by looking at him, Daniel felt as if his entire being was being analyzed, and hiding any truth would be impossible.
And Daniel had co here to play a ntal ga with such a demon, to pull out the information he wanted.
He could only hope things goes well.
