"It’s impossible... the demons would never do sothing like this! My lady is worth a thousand tis more alive than dead!" lia suddenly said with a trembling but firm voice.
She couldn’t believe sothing like that. How could the demons decide on sothing so quickly? Especially when they most likely knew her lady’s true identity!
She wasn’t sure whether that golden orb that appeared above his Young Lady’s head back then had revealed her true identity or not. But considering the demons had let them live and taken her Young Lady away, it ant they did know who she was.
If they dared to execute her Young Lady, then a full‑scale war would definitely break out! No matter how reckless or ruthless the demons were... they shouldn’t have the courage to go that far, right?
But on the other hand, what if this man’s words were true? What was she supposed to do?
Daniel only shrugged.
"That’s the demons’ decision. From their point of view, that girl has no value anymore."
At that mont, a faint wave of power spread from Daniel’s body.

It activated silently, not to control the mind, but to make the truth hit deeper, to make his words land directly in the heart of the target.
He could clearly see that this girl was still trying to resist. To make sure nothing in his plan went wrong, he had to understand what the real reason behind Lyra’s value was.
lia looked like she had taken an actual hit. The color drained from her face. Shock, fear, disbelief... and then tears began to fall down her cheeks even faster.
The tears flowed without control. Her hands trembled. Her mind was blank. She didn’t know what to do, where to turn, or who she could rely on.
But then... sothing suddenly clicked in her mind.
Her gaze slowly lifted and stopped on Daniel’s face.
This man... soone who had controlled a demon commander like a puppet...
He might be her only hope left.
lia suddenly moved forward, fell to her knees, and started begging with a broken voice.
"Please... please save her..."
Kayn raised his eyebrows in surprise. He really didn’t understand what Daniel was planning, or where this entire act was going.
"I have no reason to save that girl." Daniel said with a cold tone.
"And you still haven’t told why it should matter to ." Then he added quietly:
lia bit her lip hard. She tasted blood. Daniel was right.
She had no reason to give him. This man didn’t know who her lady really was.
If she stayed silent... her lady would definitely die.
And if she told the truth... maybe everything would change.
Her mind was in chaos. Fear, loyalty, faith, and desperation twisted together.
A few seconds passed...
"My lady... is actually... the Saintness" she finally said with a broken and trembling voice.
Silence. Both Kayn and Daniel froze.
For a mont, they couldn’t even properly understand what she ant.
"...What? What do you an?" Kayn said, his mouth half-open.
"She’s not from the Gulf at all... she’s the Saintness of the Divine Church..." lia continued, her voice shaking from crying.
Kayn’s mouth opened fully in shock.
But Daniel... frowned. He was sure lia wasn’t lying, lying was impossible with his skill active.
But still...
The Saintness?
The Divine Church... the institution that all churches and religions were under. The place that always chose the Hero and was the highest holy authority in the world.
And the Saintness... the purest, most innocent being. The one chosen to stand beside the Hero and serve the world.
Daniel rembered how that girl had been willing to die to stop the world from falling into danger, and he sighed deeply.
"That... really matches the behavior of a Saintness."
So all this ti, that girl was actually the legendary Saintness? Now he understood why the demons were so certain that humans would do anything to save her.
And now he understood why the demons were doing everything they could to avoid harming the Saint. Even though they were insane and savage, they weren’t foolish.
The Saintness’ position was extrely valuable. If she were truly killed, a full‑scale war would definitely erupt, and that was sothing even the demons wouldn’t want.
It was even possible that other races would take notice of the situation, and the Phoenixes might even assist humans in such a war.
After all, they owed a huge debt to the Divine Church
"Then why did you two co to the Gulf? A Saintness isn’t allowed to intervene until the Hero appears." he asked quietly.
According to what he had heard, the Saintness wasn’t allowed to interfere with the world’s flow until the Hero was chosen, and besides that, she had no power to intervene.
"She received a revelation from the gods... that the world was in danger, and the demons were responsible. The Saintness told the Divine Church about it... but they didn’t listen. So she decided to co on her own." lia lowered her head and said.
"When she arrived here... she understood everything." her voice trembled.
Kayn exhaled. Daniel slowly nodded.
"Then why did you hide your identity?" Kayn asked.
"It was the Saintness’ order. If anyone found out who she was, not only would we face severe punishnt, but a much bigger threat could fall on the world." lia answered.
At that ti, the Saintness was worried that the enemies of humanity would discover her identity, take her hostage, and use her in dangerous ways.
But even with that, both the demons had found out her identity, and most likely by now, the Divine Church had also realized what happened to the Saintness using the Mirror Of Destiny
"Please... please save her..." she said again, this ti looking at Daniel with complete hopelessness.
Daniel and Kayn exchanged a short look.
At this point, did they even have a choice?
They were going to fight the demons anyway, so saving the Saintness could simply beco an additional side mission.
"Don’t worry... I’ll try." Daniel finally said.
