Daniel’s gaze fixed on the church. It had been a relatively long ti since the last ti he had seen this place, though it felt much longer because of everything that had happened in between.
"As majestic as ever," he muttered to himself with a faint smile. The Church of Eternity was one of the most magnificent structures he had ever seen.
Among all the different religions within the Celestial Domain, the Church of Eternity stood above the rest.
However, this was not the ti to admire its beauty. The more important question was why he was here in the first place.
Fortunately, he did not have to wait long for an answer. The doors of the church opened, and a figure appeared, quietly staring at him.
It was a man. His face was radiant and impossible to look at directly. He wore a simple white robe. At first glance, he looked like an ordinary human, but if one looked more carefully, it felt as if they were staring into eternity itself.
An endless eternity, and a man who embodied it.
"Prophet..." Daniel recognized him instantly.
"It hasn’t been that long since the last ti we saw each other," the Prophet said with a light laugh and a calm tone, then gestured for Daniel to follow him.
"I didn’t expect to see you again so soon either," Daniel replied with a hint of sarcasm. The last ti he had seen this man was with the Lionheart family.
Since then, many things had happened, but in truth, not that much ti had passed.
"As expected, you managed to pass all the floors of the Pagoda and obtain its acknowledgnt," the Prophet said calmly. Still, there was hidden praise in his words.
The Pagoda of Eternity was considered one of the hardest among all Pagodas. Even for him, conquering it had not been easy. He had faced many hardships and had nearly failed.
Yet this boy had cleared all the trials in the shortest ti possible and had even set a new record.
Perhaps this boy really could bring the religion of eternity back to life.
"Thank you. Still, I didn’t expect it to be that difficult."
"That’s natural. Eternity is one of the most complex laws in existence. It is a power that can make everything eternal, or render everything aningless. Depending on how it is used, it can be extrely dangerous."
Before long, they entered the church and slowly walked up the stairs. Daniel already had a guess as to where the Prophet was taking him.
"Did anyone else find the Pagoda after the religion was destroyed?" Daniel asked out of curiosity.
"No. You are the only one who has entered. Only those whom the Pagoda deems worthy are allowed inside," the Prophet replied as they stopped in front of a room.
"You should be familiar with this place," he said, looking at Daniel.
"The library, right?"
"That’s right. Though this is not just a simple library," the Prophet nodded, then opened the door and walked inside.
Daniel followed without hesitation. For a mont, the world around him turned pitch-black, then he found himself inside an ancient library that looked like it had co straight out of a fantasy movie.
Although it was not his first ti here, seeing it again was still astonishing. One of his long-standing regrets was that he had failed to claim this private dinsion for himself.
"I have so many questions, from Evangelin, to what exactly happened to the religion of eternity. Was it really destroyed by demons? Why did none of the followers try to revive it? What exactly happened to the world? And... who am I?" Daniel asked everything that was on his mind in one go.
He did not know why, but he felt that the Prophet held the answers to many of his questions. Last ti, however, the Prophet had answered none of them and had only said that Daniel would understand on his own.
"I know. You have many questions, and you deserve to hear the answers. I can’t answer all of them, but I can answer so," the Prophet said after a brief pause, then sighed.
He had witnessed a large part of this boy’s life and knew how many questions he carried, especially about who he truly was. Was he the reincarnation of a god? Did the soul of a god reside within him? What exactly was the fallen bloodline?
He did not bla him for having these questions. Still, there were limits to how much information he could share with a mortal before other gods noticed.
At present, he was one of the few surviving ancient gods, and saying the wrong thing could put everything at risk.
Even so, he did not want to keep this child in the dark. That, too, could lead to even more dangerous consequences.
"But before that, it’s better to give you your rewards," the Prophet continued, leading Daniel to an area of the library he had never seen before.
Neatly arranged ancient shelves filled the space, holding countless treasures and items. Each one emitted a powerful and dangerous aura.
"I’ve never seen this place before," Daniel said, startled as he looked at the treasures. When he had visited the library before, this section had not existed.
"That library was only a copy of the one inside the Pagoda. I created it to store the most valuable books and skills I found across the world. This place is the real one."
"So... can I take all of these?" Daniel asked, unable to hide the excitent in his eyes.
If he could take all these treasures, he would beco one of the richest individuals in both worlds. On top of that, so of these items gave him an intense sense of danger.
He had no doubt that among them were treasures at the demi-god level, or perhaps even at the level of gods.
If that’s the case, wouldn’t he beco unstoppable with the help of such treasures?
"Well... no," the Prophet replied rcilessly.
