Daniel returned to the inn after leaving the Magic Tower. After all those encounters and comprehending the Transcendent Scripture, his mind desperately needed rest.

Especially since he had to take a look at his panel and see all the changes that had occurred.

When he got back to their room, he saw Eva sitting on a chair, drinking tea with so biscuits.

"Did you sleep well?" Daniel asked sarcastically, throwing himself onto the couch. He was starting to feel like maybe it'd be best to leave the Celestial Domain for a while and get so real rest.

These past few days had drained him. One thing after another happened, and he hadn't had a single proper mont to relax.

"The best sleep I've had in days. So, where did you go?" Eva looked at him and asked.

Honestly, when she woke up and saw Daniel was gone, she got really scared. She thought maybe he had left her and gone to the Central Plains, thinking she was just a burden. She really believed Daniel would do sothing like that.

But thankfully, the innkeeper told her that her friend had asked him to tell her he had sothing to do at the Magic Tower.

"I think I told the innkeeper to let you know? I went to the Magic Tower to et the Grand Mage who saved us yesterday."

"Hm, what did he want?"

"Nothing much. He just wanted to reward for saving the duke's daughter. I have to go collect the reward tomorrow," Daniel explained briefly about the River of Dragon Tears.

"How long do we need to stay in this city?"

"Not sure. Maybe two or three more days. I told Kayn I'd help him, so we can't leave until the tournant is over," Daniel replied. He was tired of this city too, but there wasn't much he could do about it.

Eva nodded and went back to her tea and biscuits. Daniel closed his eyes for a bit to rest.

He ended up sleeping for about two hours, until Eva woke him up for lunch. Daniel went to the bathroom, and after he finished washing up, he and Eva went to Kayn's room to take him along for lunch.

"Strange. He's still sleeping?" But no one responded, and the door didn't open either.

Daniel and Eva went to the innkeeper and described Kayn, asking if he had seen soone like that.

"Oh, you an the boy with the bow?" the innkeeper suddenly rembered after thinking for a mont. Then he handed a letter to Daniel.

"He said to give you this."

Daniel thanked him and left the inn with Eva. On the way, he opened the letter and started reading.

"I'm sorry I had to leave without saying goodbye, but a high-ranking official contacted and said I had to head to the Gulf Of Sur. Also, it seems the mission to assassinate the young master of Lionheart family has been cancelled."

"It was an interesting eting, and I hope we'll see each other again. Take care. —Kayn"

Daniel read the letter out loud so Eva could hear too.

"So he left?" Eva raised an eyebrow. She hadn't gotten as close to Kayn as Daniel had, but Kayn was one of the few people in her life she could actually call a friend.

She felt a little sad, but not too much.

"So the tournant's cancelled too, huh? Good, we can leave this city sooner." Daniel sighed. He had only known Kayn for a day, but during that day, their relationship had reached the point where "friend" didn't sound like an exaggeration.

After high school, Daniel's social life had really narrowed down. He hadn't made any real friends for a long ti. But Kayn was soone worthy of being called one.

"Do you know anything about the Gulf of Sur ?" he looked at Eva and asked.

"I've heard a bit about it. If I'm not wrong, it's the waterway that connects the continents. But the last ti I heard about it, I was a kid. My dad told about it. As far as I know, it's one of the most cursed places in the world," Eva said after thinking for a bit.

"I see," Daniel nodded and didn't think much of it. If they were ant to et again, they would.

He was just a little annoyed that he had lost his source of information. Now there was no one to ask questions. Maybe he should find another beggar or wanderer later?

After that, the two of them went to one of the most well-known restaurants in the city, ordered the restaurant's famous dish, and ate.

They had free ti until night, and since tomorrow could be considered their last day in the city—especially with Daniel being busy—they decided to explore the city and visit its most famous tourist spots.

The city had famous places like the opera hall, the Founder Museum—said to be the birthplace of the founder of the Elthanor Empire—and even the Royal Park, which was built with the royal family's money.

Eva begged to visit all three, and Daniel gave her a bitter smile and agreed.

They went to all three, and Daniel felt like his heart was being pierced. He had to spend a ton of money!

Luckily, Eva finally gave up, and they didn't need to go to another fancy restaurant for dinner. She was satisfied with just an ice cream.

'I didn't give her a share, but today she even spent so of my gold stash,' Daniel grumbled to himself, but seeing that she was at least happy, he didn't complain to her.

Eva had gone through a lot over the past six years and lived every day in fear of the Church discovering her fate. Maybe she deserved at least one night to be truly happy. Especially since Daniel had a feeling that they'd be parting ways soon. These might be their last days together.

"Thanks a lot," Eva said with a beautiful smile after they returned to the inn.

She wasn't dumb and realized how much Daniel had spent for her today. The least she could do was thank him from the bottom of her heart.

"You're welco," Daniel nodded and flopped onto the couch.

"Want so tea and biscuits? I made the biscuits myself."

"Sure," Daniel replied, and Eva happily went to the kitchen to prepare tea and biscuits for both of them.

Daniel's eyes locked onto the ceiling. If only days could always be this peaceful and carefree, with no need to use his brain cells…

He sighed. He knew he wasn't that lucky.

And he was right. While he was enjoying the day with Eva, a eting was being held at the Central Magic Tower between the most powerful mages in the world—because soone new had successfully comprehended the entire tablet.

A eting that could determine Daniel's fate.
