Chapter 139: Rules
If the dead take revenge, what will happen to them? The underworld has rules too. Creating another chaos to living could not only lose their chance to reincarnate but they will also receive grave punishnts depending on how heavy their cris are.
For Zhao Xiaopang who tried to murder his perpetrators, he will receive a harsh punishnt declared by the Judge.
Qin An thinks it was such a loss to give up the rit he had for this. "rit? As I said, I don’t care what will happen to as long as I can avenge my family!"
"They didn’t kill your parents—"
"But they ruined it! If not for their coldness and selfishness, I wouldn’t die! Why?! I didn’t even do anything to them but they killed ! If they can do that then why can’t I?! That’s what they deserve!" Xiaopang roared in hatred.
"You are already a soul. It is not right for you to interfere—"
"Do you think I care?!" Xiaopang’s eyes revealed a mockery when he looked at Qin An.
"A grim reaper like you wouldn’t understand it anyway. You’re a human now but you cannot even understand it."
That made him frown. "What do you an?"
"A grim reaper who doesn’t even have compassion nor can empathize with the souls he guides, I wonder why you are a grim reaper? Even an animal has an instinct to feel but you have not. Your job was to fulfill the unfinished business, right? But I wonder when you guided souls, did you really fulfill them with this attitude?"
Qin An looked at him coldly and didn’t speak.
"Have you really considered what their hearts desire when you decide to send them? Or have you just said their wish couldn’t be fulfilled because you couldn’t understand them?"
"Rules are rules. Dead cannot interfere with the living." Qin An refuted but Xiaopang shook his head.
"Qin An, when you decided to accept this job again, what was inside your heart? Did you accept this with the thought of having no choice, or did you do it to help this world? If it’s the latter, why did fate give you a chance to beco a human when you’re incapable of feeling as one?"
"..." Qin An couldn’t answer him.
As a grim reaper, their job was to only help the souls solve their unfinished business. They will try to accommodate them as long as it affects the living world.
Even after what happened right now, his mind remains rational and is clearly not affected by Xiaopang’s story. He had heard countless stories from every soul he t in the past. Their experiences were even more brutal and tragic than Bai Yue and Zhao Xiaopang, yet even when he heard them, that didn’t change his mind.
No matter how they begged, no matter how they asked for second chances or a turn over, he never let those who died harm the living beings.
This is their job as a grim reaper... isn’t it?

Qin An already accepted this job... yet why would Xiaopang still say he cannot be a human?
The Judge said it was his inevitable fate to beco a grim reaper again, then why bother letting him live as a human when he can just send him here, right?

And from what Xiaopang said, does he have to ’break’ the rules just to be called a living being who’s capable of being a human?

He couldn’t just understand how. Why would everyone say this? Calling him arrogant when he couldn’t just understand everything in this world or questioning him why he beca a human when he just couldn’t understand following the laws is inhumane?
What does he need to do? What does he need to understand?
If he let Xiaopang kill those perpetrators, will that solve everything? Will that fulfill what his heart truly desires? If letting a soul do whatever he wants to get justice, then what’s the use of having laws and the underworld?
As Qin An fell into this deep thinking, he unknowingly beca unguarded that he didn’t notice a malice flash on Xiaopang’s eyes.
Zhao Xiaopang hates him.
He thinks that Qin An is not qualified to be a human nor even to be a grim reaper.
He doesn’t have an ounce of empathy.
He was so rational that he couldn’t even feel anything.
Was that why he is a grim reaper? And soone who’s very heartless?
... If he would just disappear here, no one would stop him anymore.
If Qin An dies... will he also feel what they suffered right now?

Thus, when Zhao Ziaopang noticed his distraction, he didn’t waste ti and flash towards the young man.

anwhile outside the closed door of the training room, the atmosphere still stayed in the freezing state because of what Shen Lou and He Yan did.
Chi Ling’s face changes drastically, changing to pale and red because of the humiliation he felt upon seeing He Yan and Shen Lou stand against him.
Why are these two going against him? Don’t they see that everyone is looking at him?! He is a guest here and their Senior! They have no respect!
"Classmates, I think there is no need to say those words." Lin Yu tries to persuade the two young n. "We are just worried about what’s happening inside. As your ntors, we have the right to know and it is our duty to whatever happens here inside this competition."
Qian Jin also said, "Why don’t we just open the door so we can help Bai Yue and Qin An? This is a very important matter."
But even with persuading them a few tis, He Yan and Shen Lou never moved on their stand.
He Yan looked at Shen Lou with a worry flash in his eyes. He actually didn’t know what was happening. He didn’t understand why they were doing this but as their friend, he trusted them.
Shen Lou will never decide on a matter that could harm anybody, so is Qin An.
It’s just that he also wanted to know what was happening inside. He wanted to help if he could because he could feel that there’s sothing going on between Qin An and Shen Lou.
These days, he notices their relationship getting better and knows there is a secret between them that he didn’t know. He was surprised but at the sa ti he was happy that his two friends are getting closer.
No matter what’s going on, he’ll support them.
He Yan was about to say sothing when his eyes caught sothing behind the crowd.
"!!!" His eyes widened in surprise.
"Brother?!" He exclaims in surprise.
