Chapter 218: 3R’s
In the end, because the first three on the rank had the benefit of being the MVP, they were able to choose their own partner before others.
Nan Moyi was the luckiest because he is the rank one and will be the first one to choose. Yet even for the 19 trainees he could choose, he didn’t spend any more ti and imdiately chose his partner— Qin An.
His choice quickly received different resentnt and annoyance from the people who originally had plans on picking Qin An, such as Shen Lou and others but he didn’t care and just smiled at them.
"Trainee Qin An, please step forward."
After the young man settled in front, the voice sounded again. "The trainees that will be chosen will have a choice to accept or reject the offer. However, you can only decline once so please consider your decisions carefully."
Decline? Hearing it made the trainees look a bit complicated. Such a rule is like a double-edged sword. You may have the choice to decline, but what are the possible consequences? It ans that other trainees might resent you and won’t choose you until maybe the final choice you can have is soone who isn’t compatible for you. Or even if you accept it, what if there’s a better choice that you didn’t just consider? Won’t you regret it in the end?
In short, you really have to consider everything or one choice would either help you or bring trouble.
"Trainee Qin An, please state your decision whether you’ll accept Nan Moyi’s offer."
Qin An opened his lips and was about to say his answer when his eyes t He Yan’s. The young man’s usually bright like a light bulb glowing are a bit misty and looking at him like an aggrieved puppy. "..." Is this such a big deal? Qin An didn’t know but at this mont, he just felt the large generation gap between him and others because he really couldn’t connect.
"Ahem," Jiang Su clears his throat when he sees the young man’s dilemma due to the constant eyes of others towards him. He was dumbfounded too when he saw the situation.
What’s going on with them? It’s not like Qin An is the only choice that they could choose, right?
"Classmate Qin, you can decide now," Jiang Su motioned the young man. Qin An nodded and looked away from the light bulbs and turned to Nan Moyi.
"I accept," Qin An decides. A wide smile was painted on Nan Moyi while He Yan on the side imdiately pouted but could do nothing. The other trainees who originally planned to pick the young man frown and looked at the remaining trainees.
"Trainee Qin An, please stand beside Nan Moyi."
After the young man stood beside Nan Moyi, the voice continued.
"Trainee Gu Yijin, please choose your duo."
Gu Yijin didn’t speak imdiately and just quietly looked away from Qin An who was his first choice. He knew that he and the young man weren’t close in the beginning so when he offered him to be with his team back then created a shock from everyone. He was also not a person who will take initiative to invite soone so he’s sure that it was very unusual for him.
He doesn’t even know.
It’s just that he felt that he and the young man had similarities in the beginning of the competition. He saw him being isolated and all that until there’s sothing inexplicable that sohow made the young man at the center of the circle. Since Gu Yijin wanted to change himself to fit in a group, he wanted to go to Qin An because he felt that with the young man, maybe he could get ’friends’ like He Yan and others.
Too bad that the latter was chosen. He uttered a tsk inside his heart and could only look for another trainee.
At the end, he chose a more familiar trainee that he’s been with from the previous round, Jiang Mo.
The next one is Chen Wei. The young man had no extra expression on his face as he scanned the trainees around. He felt a sudden feeling of powerlessness inside him when he saw the trainees he had often chosen to look away from him at this mont.
They don’t want him.
"..." Chen Wei silently clenches his jaw. What should he do? What to do?
Standing here at this mont felt like what was under him was a thin layer of ice, as if any seconds it will break and he’ll fall into the cold water beneath him.
As seconds passed, the silence inside the venue felt very suffocating. It was not until a small call that the young man ca back to his senses.
Chen Wei looked in that direction and saw Sheng Yan looking at him too. It’s probably an epiphany but when their eyes t, Chen Wei knew that he found it.
"I’ll choose Sheng Yan."
"I’ll accept it." When the two stand beside each other, Sheng Yan whispers.
"I’m sorry. I know that you may not want to be paired with too."
".." Chen Wei didn’t speak and just stared at the faint apologetic smile of the young man.
"Would you like to ask the ntors if you can change again—"
"It’s fine." Chen Wei cut him off. He exhaled a breath slowly and finally gave a reassuring nod to Sheng Yan. "You’re my partner now."
That made the young man smile a bit and nodded at him. "Okay. Then let’s do our best together, Chen Wei."
Chen Wei just nodded. His back straightens once again as he faces everyone., his face no longer looks grim and turned to calmness.
That subtle action made Xu Xinyi raise her brow. A flash of recognition appeared in her eyes again and concealed the smile on her face before she looked away.
