Chapter 239: Battlefield
The mont He Li heard an urgent call from his Adjutant Ji Wen that sothing happened to Su Jinxi, he knew that this was definitely about those mysterious things again. He commands the team to stay put as they constantly fight with the Zergs while he swiftly flies using his cha towards Su Jinxi’s direction.
Upon arriving, what welcod him was the anxious voices from the other soldiers as they worriedly looked at Su Jinxi who was sitting on the ground. She was totally disheveled, full of wounds and scratches but that seems to be forgotten as she was only focused on clutching her head tightly. Her expression reveals an intense pain and tears were streaming down fast from her tightly closed eyes.
In normal circumstances it could be described as soone who’s in a ntal riot, however due to her special situation, there might be so other things.
"Marshal!"
He Li squatted down to level her and tried to talk, "Su Jinxi, can you hear ?" he called but the latter didn’t even spare a glance at him. He frowned. "Su Jinxi!"
The other soldiers noticed his expression and also tried to call but in no vain. The situation clearly tells that if this goes further, Su Jinxi’s condition will be too dangerous to be saved.
Even though He Li didn’t know what will happen if he’ll use his ntal power to wake her up, he has no choice but to. He cautiously extends a strand of his ntal power to the other one. Fortunately, Su Jinxi instinctively felt familiar with that ntal power and her eyes slowly beca clear.
"M-Marshal..." she whispered. Su Jinxi wanted to offer respect but even just by raising her head slightly, her head aches even more, feeling as if she was constantly stabbed by knives.
"What happened?"
"M-Marshal..." Su Jinxi took a deep breath and forced herself to endure her aching temple and tried to start explaining.
Earlier, everything was just normal except for the group of black mist around the battlefield. Having been reminded by Qin An, she knew that that was the resentnt that causes the world’s havoc, the ntal pollution.
Su Jinaxi could clearly see how the large lump masses of pollution were gathered from every zerg and when they tried to attack them, a wave of black mist would also attack resulting in an increased ntal pollution. This is exactly what Qin An explained.
Seeing this in front of her eyes sends chills down on her spine and at the sa ti, a faint excitent. She could see it. Does that an that she can find a way on how to defend this?
Su Jinxi wasted no ti and started experinting. She attacked a zerg and when she saw it counterattack using that black mist, she could clearly feel how her head started aching more when it landed on her. Enduring this, she continues her attack, this ti every ti the zerg attacks her with that, she would use her ntal power to cleverly avoid it.
And to her surprise, even if she couldn’t really avoid it totally, her attacks weren’t as grave as the others earlier! Aside from that, she could also strangely feel that when she uses her tal power to counterattack, the black mist seems to pause and its aggressiveness lessen a bit.
"!!!" How is that even possible?! This pollution has nothing to fear! They are like leeches that don’t fear death and would just do everything to stick and suck off their ntal power. Yet, how does it feel like she can now defend it?
Su Jinxi tried and tried that thod to verify her guesses and finally confird sothing. What these black mist eared isn’t actually her pure ntal power but the strange energy inside her.
At first she didn’t notice because she was focused on things but as she wondered why that black mist didn’t fear the others who were as strong as her? What was strange? What is the difference?
Then she rembered Qin An. That young man who has a strange energy that eases their ntal pollution. Su Jinxi could still rember how the young man effortlessly eased the pain inside him like a gentle caress. But even if that seems pure and defenseless, just seeing how the ntal pollution disappeared under his power, it’s clear how powerful it is.
Now even if it’s not that powerful like the young man, the strange energy that suddenly grew inside her was familiar like the sa as his. Furthermore, Qin An said she was a chosen one who had that ability to ’see’.
Su Jinxi felt an intense encouragent from the small amount of power inside her. She didn’t hesitate to start commanding the soldiers under her. While they attack, she would try her best to exert that energy to project them. As she could see it, she can perfectly avoid it and command others too.
This strategy was extrely effective yet at the sa ti dangerous only for her.
Su Jinxi didn’t know how to control this or to what extent she could use it. Since this was also the first ti, her energy imdiately dilapidated after just a few tis of trying.
She could feel a sudden heaviness that poured inside her head. It’s not just the aching pain from the ntal pollution but there seems to be a force inside her that pulls her energy. Her whole body went numb as her face went extrely pale.
But how could she let this opportunity slide? She could only grit her teeth and hold herself tightly, feeling as if any second from now, sothing inside her mind would snap.
As ti went by, Su Jinxi acted like nothing happened even if all she could taste inside her mouth was the blood that she wanted to vomit badly.
But no. If others notice this condition, they will definitely urge her to stop helping them.
She could not. She must not allow herself to be defeated.
Su Jinxi felt like she had no right to give up even if it ant dying. They are all her comrades. Even the slightest and the tiniest way that could possibly save or prolong their life, she will do it at all cost.
... it’s just that what she wanted is way too impossible.
In the next mont, a sound like a prolonged beep from a monitor echoes on her head loudly. Su Jinxi held her head and groaned at the sudden event. Her knees wobbled and she finally couldn’t help but to fall on the ground.
"!!!" The soldiers surrounding her gasp upon noticing her downfall and quickly call her. However, Su Jinxi’s ears remained close and all she could hear was the loud prolonged beep that made her head tingled in pain.
She didn’t know what was happening but she felt that this was due to her overuse of that strange energy. She could feel her strength drastically falling as if any seconds from now, she’ll fall and maybe die.
But not yet. Not until she informs the Marshal at least for this discovery!
"C-Call the Marshal!" She anxiously shouted.
This is what happened before He Li ca. Listening to her explanation, He Li also knew her condition was at the critical mont. She couldn’t go on any longer.
He Li stood up and issued a command. "Protect her at all costs. She must be sent back to the Federation alive!"
