Chapter 291: Find The Ancient Tree
On the other side of the deep forest, He Li was also transferred alone. When he noticed that the young man was no longer in front of him, a surge wave of anger suddenly rushed inside him.
This ti, He Li let that mysterious force completely take over his body. Yet as soon as he felt his body out of his control, another wave of strong emotions overwheld him.
It was like a sudden deep stab of a thousand knives pierced his heart. A burst of heavy emotions rushed inside him. It was a combination of grief, despair, and a deep loneliness that made him unknowingly raise his hand to cover his chest. This feeling is sothing unknown to him but as the tis goes by, he just felt an indescribable familiarity.
But he never experienced sothing to feel this way... or does he?
He Li clenched his jaw and his eyes narrowed with coldness. "Who are you?"
He knew that there’s soone unknown that has been lurking inside him— no, rather than that, it is likely sothing that he forgot.
He initially thought that all the vague mories flashed in his mind belong to the unknown that stays inside his body, like how he watched others as Qin An dealt with them, a possession perhaps. But the emotions and the familiarity that he always felt feels unusual.
It’s not because soone is trying to steal his body... but he thinks that this is just him.
He Li is awakening mories. That is why he finally let that unknown completely out, even if it ans controlling him.
And just like he predicted, in the next second, the vague slowly beca clear to him.
Yet what welcod him was a mory that he never expected in his life.
... A devil and a grim reaper’s journey.

Back to Qin An, he stood still in the middle of the dark energy around him. His face was now calm but his eyes were determined.
"Face ." The tone of his voice was no longer with coldness as he was as a grim reaper, but steadiness. "Answer so I can help you," he continues.
This ti, a voice answered him.
"What’s the use of it?!"
It sounded like a woman whose tone was filled with helplessness and anger.
"What’s the use of your help?! We’re already dead!" She added while feeling despair.
"That’s right! We’ve been dead for so long. There’s no hope for anything anymore!"
"What can you even do? You can’t do anything!"
A series of voices from different souls also echoed one after another but he didn’t mind their disbelief.
"Can you bring us back alive?"
He shook his head. "No."
"Then there’s no point! Even justice has long been late! There’s nothing even left on this planet! The Zergs already destroyed our hos. All of us are dead!"
"Then you’ll just stay here?"
"What else?! There’s no way to leave here!"
"What if I told you that there’s still a way? Even if it’s not a new life, you can leave here." Qin An said.
There was a mont of silence after that. "Leave? Where?"
"To the place where souls like you must go."
"You’re probably just lying! What do you know?!" But it was expected that there will be soone who will not believe him.
"I’m not," his voice is firm. "You have been trapped here for so long, enduring the pain even after death due to the dark energy that consud you. You can still leave with this state and start anew."
"Anew? What kind of new beginning is there for ? Is it even next to death?"
He sighs. "I can prove it to you," he paused. "However, I need to find sothing first."
"What is it?"
"A tree. Have you seen a large tree? It’s an ancient ginkgo tree that we needed to transport back to the federation to—"
"What?" His words seem to pause them. "You want to transfer that tree?"
He nodded and wanted to explain further but he didn’t know why yet after hearing his words, there seed to be sothing that suddenly snapped them.
He could feel the wind start to get stronger and the dark energy around just gradually turn back to the previous gloomy and overwhelming.
Qin An was stunned. He didn’t understand the sudden repulsion from them like this.
"So that’s it! Your agenda is the tree! You wanted to steal it from us!"
"How dare you?! That’s the only thing that’s left here! That’s the only one that’s left alive here!"
"I won’t allow you to steal the remaining life here in our ho!"
Qin An quickly grasps their anxiety. They are anxious that the tree will leave here. That ginkgo tree is indeed the only thing that brings color to this planet. After the destruction, they had been wandering for too long with this dead ho. There are no life signs here nor any colors.
For years, aside from the pain that didn’t leave even after death, they wander around like zombies with no at left. The planet that was once their ho turned to dull and withered.
Until they saw an enormous tree. It was like a sudden color between all the black and grey. The large tree has golden fan-shaped leaves that feel very bright in this wrecked ho. It was like yellow paint was thrown at the back canvas, the golden colors seed to glow in the darkness.
The light that just grew.
Their souls were already consud by the dark energy and they could no longer control themselves but wherever they passed here, it was like a mont of clarity inside their minds even just for a few seconds.
Like a breath of fresh air that cleared all the pain and suffering they have in this world.
That tree is the only salvation for them so why would they let others steal it?!
Never!
"Since you want to steal it, then you have to die!"
The wind beca more and more violent as they went rampant. Qin An’s expression turned grim. The situation is never good for any of them!
Qin An cursed under his breath and gripped the sword tightly. His condition isn’t the best to deal with this situation especially that they’re even going out of control!
Thus without hesitation, Qin An turned his back and swiftly ran away with all his might.
He has to find the ginkgo tree!
