Chapter 35: Friends
From the mont Qin An steps inside the room, the noise quickly disappears and the four young n inside look towards the door where he was in.
Qin An saw two wearing the badges of Class F while the other two were wearing their own classes respectively. He Yan has the Class S, while the other one is wearing Class C.
Qin An only paused for a mont before he entered and went to the vacant bed on the corner. While he was busy packing his clothes, he could feel the frequent gazes behind him which he didn't bother to care about.
It was only when he felt soone behind him that he stopped what he's doing and looked back, only to see He Yan. The young man doesn't have the usual sunny appearance like he usually has. Instead, its face was slightly red and his eyes were looking everywhere except him.
Qin An paused and raised his brow . What's the matter with this kid?
Qin An waited for him to speak but even after a few seconds, He Yan still couldn't open his mouth to begin so he was about to turn his back and just continue what he was doing when one of the trainees wearing the Class F broke the ice.
"Qin An, He Yan wants to say sothing to you."
Upon hearing that, he finally looks at the young man in front of him but still, the latter keeps on fidgeting around.
Qin An: "...." Will he have to wait until he'll speak?
So he just decides to speak this ti. "What is it?" His voice was plain and distant, mainly just his usual voice yet it made the latter flinch a bit before He Yan suddenly stood up straight.
His face is still red but he looks at Qin An with determination this ti.
"I-I..." Its voice cracks even before it completes what he's saying. "... I-I— m-my na is He Yan. W-What... W-What about you?"
"...."
What about him?! The young n's gaze t for a second and they could see the speechlessness on it. Why is he asking Qin An's na?! Is it already obvious?!
Qin An also looks at him with the sa gaze as others. Probably realizing what he just said, He Yan's face turned redder and his straight back bent in embarrassnt.
Seeing this, Xing Ren, who's wearing the Class F stood up and went beside them. He looks at Qin An with an apologetic smile and speaks. "I'm sorry, Qin An. He Yan ant that he wants to properly introduce himself. After all, we really didn't introduce each other, right?"
That's true. Because they already know the nas of the participants from the audition, they didn't introduce themselves anymore and just got together directly. It was only He Yan's nervousness that made him speak like that.
Qin An just nodded so Xing Ren smiled again and touched He Yan's elbow. His eyes gesture sothing so He Yan looks at him again hesitantly.
"T-Then... I look forward to working together soon?"
Qin An looked at the young man in front of him. He Yan is actually one of those who's not malicious at him and just by seeing his attitude towards him today, he knew that this guy just wanted to get along with him.
But... friend is a distant word for him.
As far as he rembered, he never had soone whom he always got along with in his previous life. It's not that no one wants to, it's just that no one dares to. And because of his cold personality and he himself is not interested, everyone seems to know not to be together with him tactically so they just treated each other all as colleagues. Nothing more and nothing less.
But did he ever try to? Qin An subconsciously frowned when his headache faintly when he tried to rember his past again.
Now, he can really confirm that it's not only his illusion or just a montary pain. Qin An didn't know when it started but every ti he wants to rember, his head aches. Although so mories are still there, there are tis that so mories cannot be looked up to.
As if the pain on his head is telling him that there's a border for him to rember so things. That he must not rember those mories nor even can think about it.
But why? Just like the reason why he chose to beco a human, why can't he rember so of the things in the past? Was it because it's too old? No, he's not an ordinary person and he can rember things better.
Yet, only he knew that there's missing.
There's always been missing in his past.
However, does it matter? Qin An is no longer a grim reaper. What happened in the past may not be important anymore because he's already a human and in this new world. There is no taphysics and only science in this world.
So whatever happened in his previous life doesn't matter.
Probably because he didn't answer imdiately and even frowned a bit, the atmosphere inside the room froze again. He Yan's face also turned paler but fortunately, Qin An broke from his reverie and answered him.
"Yes."
Since he also has this new life and identity, he knows he also has to change everything about himself, especially about his personality. Being a human is not just about living and surviving, he also needs to socialize with other people. And just by entering this industry, one thing that a person needs to have is to have an open personality.
So Qin An has to change and take a step forward from his own circle. And one of the steps is to have so friends.
The young n inside the room keenly notice the changes in Qin An's temperant. Even if they still feels his coldness and distance, he seems to restrain it now. The indescribable aura around him dissipated, making them feel as if the young man who seems very out of place in this world is slowly accepting and integrating himself.
The pressure that seems pressing them also fades, making them sigh in relief and they finally did not feel uncomfortable as before.
He Yan grins widely at his answer and his eyes brighten.
"O-Okay!"
Xing Ren looks at Qin An. "Then I'll look forward to working with you too, Classmate Qin."
"And I do too."
"Count in."
The other n around also chid in. The once awkward atmosphere around broke so the people inside also reveal their nature and they start talking happily again.
And it seems that they notice that he's still not used to conversing with others so even if He Yan wants to talk to him more, he restrains himself and just chat with others.
Qin An also turned his back again and cleaned his things. However this ti, he doesn't feel too tired anymore.
Unknown to him, a rare softness flashes on his eyes.
