Chapter 46: Talk
Talk? Qin An looked at Shen Lou and had an idea about what he wanted to talk about so he nodded.
They went back to the balcony and sat on the bench outside side by side. Shen Lou didn’t say anything after that but Qin An didn’t mind and he looked around.
He was glad that even if science and technology already dominated this new era, they never neglected nature. Even if the infrastructures are way too high from the past, they never forget about the natural surroundings. This planet is much the sa as Blue Star. Full of green and blues. Fortunately, they found this after the Earth was occupied by Zergs.
This new era never forgets where they ca from. Albeit they don’t believe in so cultures in the past, they never erase it on history which is atleast good enough. Now, they are still even willing to fight against the Zergs to take back the planet that belonged to them.
When Qin An was silently embracing the cool breeze from the air, Shen Lou finally spoke.
"You heard about my conversation with Teacher Pei, right?" Shen Lou asks directly.
"Yes." Qin An bluntly answered because he knew there’s no use denying. The people here are stronger, especially Shen Lou who has an S level of ntal strength and S level in physical attributes. There’s no doubt he noticed him when he went there and listened to their conversation.
Shen Lou is also casual and didn’t get angry, instead, just like him, both of them fell into a state of confusion. Apparently, they are the sa who didn’t understand how to realize what the ntors want them to understand.
Why does everyone perceive them as arrogant? Isn’t it just because they excel on so things so they know better what to do? If Shen Lou assigned them to the parts the mbers want, how can they guarantee that they will do their best to improve when he cannot even see them taking this team seriously?
Is it really his fault for not giving in? Or, shouldn’t the mbers also try their best to improve to prove they can do better than what he decides? Why must he be the only one whom everyone sees who’s at fault?
From what he observed, the mbers were also arrogant. Thinking that they are better to do the parts that clearly don’t fit them. So why was he the only one who got reprimanded by the ntors when they are doing the sa too?
For the first ti in Shen Lou’s life, soone doubted his ability. He was actually isolated by others when what he had used to was he was always the one whom everyone sought out for.
This feeling... Shen Lou subconsciously looked at Qin An. Was this what this young man had experienced too?
At this mont, the two fell into the sa situation which unknowingly broke the distance between them that they didn’t notice.
Shen Lou went even more silent. His brows were frowning and Qin An could feel his trouble about this matter. They both knew that this issue must be addressed so they can move forward again. If this will be delayed, their performance will be affected and so will their class.
If Shen Lou cannot clean this ss, he’ll only receive hatred again especially for those trainees who are in the lower class. Much worse for those who are in Class E and F who’s in verge of elimination if they cannot win or earn enough points to go higher.
Qin An is also in this situation so he’s even more willing to listen for changes. Besides, he also realizes his mistakes.
Xu Xinyi was right. Their arrogance must be placed in the right position. It will only be their weakness if they keep on looking down on others. Not taking them into consideration nor being indifferent to what is happening to the team is never the quality they are looking for to debut. If this is a single competition, the ntors would probably not care, yet this is about a group. A team.
If they couldn’t even integrate to the circle, what’s more if they debut? Skills are clearly not enough.
"Do you think everyone is right?" Shen Lou asked again after the silence and Qin An said yes again without hesitation.
Shen Lou looks at his blunt words and suddenly chuckles slowly.
"When you heard that we’re the sa, do you think so too?" Shen Lou playfully asks but again, Qin An agrees. He looked at him in surprise as if not expecting that he accepted that fast.
Qin An just shrugs and doesn’t answer so the frown on Shen Lou’s face slowly disappears. The young man took a deep breath and leaned on his seat. He raised his head and stared blankly at the bright blue sky above them.
There was a mont of silence again for them. As for Qin An, his attention was drawn to the large cat laying on the floor beside Shen Lou.
The black maine coon seed to notice his gaze so it opened its eyes and Qin An t its golden vertical pupil again. They stared for a second before the cat slowly stretched up his body and walked towards him.
Even if Qin An can see its body full of resentnt, he cannot feel that it’s malicious on him so he lets it walk closer towards him until the cat lightly brushes its head on the back of his hand.
Qin An’s eyes flash. He thought the cat would just pass through on him since it’s only a soul, yet to his surprise, he can clearly feel the softness on its fur.
How could it be? He’s a human. He cannot be touched by sothing on the other side anymore. He also saw the cat passed through on trainee’s bodies earlier so how could he touch it?
He looked at the back of his hand and could still feel its touch. Different from its warmth when it’s alive, the maine coon’s body is cold like a corpse. Qin An is way too familiar with that sensation.
The only feeling that a soul should have.
He sighs. "Why are you here?" Qin An whispers words for the cat but Shen Lou hears it.
"Isn’t it because we want to debut?"
He was stunned and looked at him. He helplessly just nodded even if that question was not for the young man.
"ow~"
Qin An looked back at the cat again.
Why is it here? Why is there a soul in this world? What does this soul an about existing in this world?
Qin An has a premonition inside his heart that sothing is coming towards him.
That’s clearly about his previous job as a grim reaper... although he already retired, right?
