A few days later, Kai was in the mansion’s living room, typing code at high speed on a sleek and minimalist laptop, dressed in a shirt and trousers that made him look elegant and attractive. After a few minutes, Kai leaned back in his chair and let out a sigh, at which mont a calm, feminine voice resonated behind him.
"Tired?" Keiko, wearing a simple black dress, placed her delicate hands on Kai’s shoulders.
"More like exasperated—I ran into another tough nut to crack." Kai sighed again, his expression a bit annoyed. Keiko smiled charmingly and began to massage the young man’s shoulders as she spoke.
"Want to help? I promise to keep the secret."
Kai looked up and t Keiko’s eyes behind her elegant black-rimd glasses. Keiko returned the look with a small, calm smile, never stopping the massage.
"...I suppose your help wouldn’t hurt."
After a few seconds, Kai let out a small sigh and said, as he adjusted himself in his chair. With a slightly broader smile, Keiko sat on the left armrest of Kai’s chair and started looking at the laptop. After a quick glance, Keiko imdiately got a sense of what Kai was doing, so she rose from her spot and comnted with a smile.
"Rin, could you bring my computer?"
Almost imdiately, a woman of around thirty ca out of the kitchen wearing the classic black-and-white maid uniform. Her light lilac hair was perfectly gathered in a bun, and her face greatly resembled Mrs. Yoshiko’s, only younger. After a small bow toward Keiko, the woman walked calmly toward the stairs.
"She’s quite good." Kai said, watching the woman out of the corner of his eye. Keiko nodded as she stood up.
"Yes, she’s done a fine job running the Yaoyorozu mansion so far."
"I see. Who stayed with Momo at the mansion?" Kai asked calmly as he looked over the computer. Keiko sat on the sofa across from Kai and replied with a smile.
"The deputy housekeeper stayed. She’s still a little short of Rin’s level, but Momo wants to take care of her friends herself, so she doesn’t have to do much."
Picturing Momo, Kai couldn’t help but smile in amusent, then he looked up to look at Keiko. At that mont, with a calm expression, Keiko slowly and deliberately uncrossed her legs, then crossed them again with the other leg underneath, and reached out her hand for the laptop.
Keiko’s movent inevitably led to Kai, who was sitting in front of her, catching a glimpse of the view beneath her dress. Trying to ignore the image of those sexy legs and the sheer black thong, Kai looked Keiko in the eyes and said evenly.
"I imagine Momo’s having a blast."
"Quite."

Keiko nodded and began typing rapidly on her computer while simultaneously reviewing the data Sage was sending her.
"They look pretty good. Why are you chasing these people?" Keiko asked without taking her eyes off the screen. Kai replied calmly.
"They’re a rather strange group that seems to be looking for information about the lab I found on the Island of Spiders. I suspect they know sothing."
"The spiders...?" Keiko stopped typing for a second and looked at Kai but quickly resud and spoke with seriousness. "I see. I’ll give you a hand with that—leave it to . You can focus on sothing else."
"Then I’ll leave it in your capable hands. But don’t tell the others—you know how they are." Kai said as he closed his laptop. Keiko looked up and, without stopping her typing, comnted with a mischievous smile as she glanced at Kai.
"Of course—though silence ought to be rewarded."
"What do you want?" Kai asked with a small smile, though inwardly he felt a bit wary. Keiko smiled beautifully and said.
"Why don’t we go to the beach one of these days with the others? Since Yumiko started working again, I feel a bit lonely at ho."
"Sounds like a good idea. How about we do it before going to I-Island? That way we could spend a little ti vacationing and finish the trip at I-Island all together." Kai said, sowhat thoughtful, letting out a subtle sigh of relief. Keiko nodded and replied with a smile.
"Perfect. I’ll get a swimsuit ready."
"Then it’s decided—I’ll tell the others later." Kai replied with a smile, but at that mont, his reliable assistant sent him a telepathic ssage that changed his expression.
[Master, I found confirmation of the information Nezu gave us. There really is a report like the one he ntioned in the private network files of the Secretariat of Security.]
[What did you find?] Kai asked in a serious tone, thoughts accelerating to the maximum. Sage showed Kai a holographic screen in [In] mode with a text file and explained.
[For now there’s only the docunt recording the testimony of the Japanese archaeologist who took part in the expedition, but little else. The plant we managed to slip in didn’t have a high enough security level—this is the best I could get.]
[It doesn’t matter; what matters is that Nezu was telling the truth—there really is such a docunt. Does it say where the discovery was made?] Kai said as he skimd the docunt at full speed. Sage shook her head and explained.
[No, it only states the na of the archaeology mission, with no ntion of the site, and I haven’t found more data. However, I found a place in the Granadan Confederation, where statues very similar to the one we saw in the tunnel were found.]
[I see... Make a hole in my schedule; I’ll go personally to the Granadan Confederation to set a marker.] Kai replied in a serious tone. At that mont Keiko’s worried voice sounded in front of him.
"Is sothing wrong, Kai?"
"Yes. I’ll have to make a trip to the Granadan Confederation."
Kai said with a serious expression. Sowhat surprised, Keiko looked at him for a few monts, wanting to know if he was joking, but seeing how serious he was, she quickly asked with a hint of apprehension.
"What happened?"
After thinking for a mont, Kai decided to give her a brief explanation of what had happened with Nezu, the ancient city, and the statue. Looking into Keiko’s almost pleading eyes, Kai couldn’t help but fall silent for a few monts, feeling the weight of her love more than ever. Seeing Keiko’s gaze grow more apprehensive with each passing second, Kai decided to give an answer to this great woman who cared so much for him.
Grasping Keiko’s slender waist firmly, Kai spoke in a steady tone, staring directly into her eyes.
