In the vast dense forest outside Yun Lan Mountain, shadows occasionally flitted across the open sky. With sharp, eagle-like gazes, they carefully scanned the forest below.

Several figures swept over the dense forest with solemn expressions. After finding nothing, they exchanged glances, briefly showing a sense of relief, before signaling each other and separating to fly off in different directions.

The battle with Yun Lan Sect had left the surviving disciples deeply shaken. Watching their sect destroyed by the Xiao Clan's Twin Dragons had scarred many of them, instilling a fear of the Xiao Clan. Just hearing the na Xiao Clan's Twin Dragons was enough to make their hearts race.

Even though the Old Sect Leader had assured them that Mo Yu and Xiao Yan couldn't wield that terrifying power again, they still felt an innate fear at the thought of hunting down the Xiao Clan's Twin Dragons.

Now, although they hadn't found any trace of Mo Yu and Xiao Yan, rather than being disappointed, they actually felt a small sense of relief.

With this state of mind, these figures made only a rough sweep of the area before dispersing again.

They hadn't noticed that, hidden in the branches of a tall tree, sothing was concealed beneath a dense layer of leaves, making it hard to spot even with a close inspection.

"Mo Yu, are you alright?" a concerned voice whispered from under the branches.

"Hah... I'm fine," ca a slightly ragged breath from within the leaves. A mont later, after so slight rustling, the leaves shifted, revealing a handso face.

Mo Yu looked up at the now-empty sky, casting his gaze in the direction where the figures had dispersed. He then sat on the thick branch, leaning against the tree trunk, and took a few healing pills from Xiao Yan behind him.

"Thanks." After swallowing the pills and feeling his injuries and Dou Qi stabilize, Mo Yu thanked him quietly.

It had to be said that Alchemists did have an inherent advantage when it ca to healing and cultivation; no wonder so many people on Dou Qi Continent revered them.

"Don't ntion it. If it weren't for you using the Thunder God Fla Lotus, we'd still be trapped in Yun Lan Sect. Compared to that, a few pills are nothing," Xiao Yan replied quickly, waving his hand.

"Hehe, it's not just my credit—your role was just as crucial," Mo Yu chuckled.

"Kid, I always knew you were extraordinary, but I didn't expect you could even unleash a technique like the Thunder God Fla Lotus. And that Thunder Soul of yours, it's quite remarkable too..."

At this mont, a weary voice sounded beside them, and then, an elderly, ethereal figure appeared before Mo Yu.

"Teacher, you're here!" Xiao Yan said joyfully when he saw the figure.

Hearing this, Mo Yu paused and looked with curiosity at the person who played a vital role in Xiao Yan's growth—Yao Lao.

As expected, Yao Lao appeared as an elderly man with flowing white hair, giving off an amiable aura. Yet, the occasional gleam in his eyes hinted that he was no simple elder.

"Yes," the old man nodded at Xiao Yan before glancing at Mo Yu with interest. "She Zun Zhe, won't you co out and et ?"

"Heh, who would've thought the once-renowned Yao Zun Zhe would end up like this? Quite unexpected," a cold, hoarse voice responded, as a pale middle-aged figure flashed into view—it was She Lao.

"She Zun Zhe..."

Hearing Yao Lao's address and seeing She Lao erge, Mo Yu understood.

According to Dou Qi Continent's rules, upon advancing to Dou Zun, one would earn a unique title, like Yao Zun Zhe, Feng Zun Zhe, and so on. She Lao's title, fittingly, was She Zun Zhe.

"The Seven-Winged Purple-Gold Serpent bloodline... there's likely no second person with it in the entire continent other than you, She Zun Zhe," Yao Lao said with a soft laugh, stroking his ethereal beard.

"Back then, you suddenly vanished at the peak of your power. Turns out, you must have t with an accident..." At this, a hint of regret appeared on Yao Lao's face.

Both of them had once been renowned on the continent. Who would have thought that one day, they'd find themselves in such dire straits, cornered by a single Dou Zong?

"I just encountered a powerful opponent, but surviving it was no easy feat," She Lao replied.

"It's widely rumored that the Bone Chilling Fla is your natal Heavenly Fla, Yao Zun Zhe. Today, I can confirm it. As a top-tier Alchemist on the continent, aided by such a fla, it's no wonder the Hall of Souls is bent on capturing you," She Lao said gravely, looking at the famous Yao Zun Zhe in front of him.

Although they were both Dou Zun, there were still considerable differences in strength between Dou Zuns.

She Zun Zhe believed himself to be among the strongest Dou Zuns, but facing soone like Yao Lao, who held not only strength but also extensive connections, he knew there was still a gap.

When She Lao ntioned the Hall of Souls, a deep resentnt appeared on Yao Lao's face, followed by a wry smile. "Let's not dwell on the past. At least, the heavens haven't abandoned completely. Even in my decline, I was blessed with an excellent disciple, making the hardship worthwhile."

Yao Lao looked at Xiao Yan, a glimr of warmth and pride flashing in his old eyes.

Yao Lao was undoubtedly satisfied with his disciple—not only was Xiao Yan imnsely talented, but he also had a heart full of gratitude, unlike another student of his.

"Teacher, don't worry. I will work hard to improve my strength and help bring you back to life," Xiao Yan said, his heart ward by Yao Lao's kind gaze.

"Hehe, there's no rush. Gain the strength you need first. For now, let's focus on escaping Yun Lan Sect's pursuit—and there's also the Hall of Souls to consider," Yao Lao said solemnly.

Xiao Yan was montarily stunned, then nodded seriously, his face grave.

Although he didn't yet understand the full extent of the Hall of Souls's power, the fact that a single protector from the Hall of Souls could treat two Dou Zuns with disdain spoke volus. Compared to them, Yun Lan Sect was nothing.

"She Zun Zhe, it seems you too have found an exceptional heir," Yao Lao said, glancing at Mo Yu with admiration.

"Thank you, Yao Zun Zhe, but I'm unworthy of such praise."

"No need to be so polite, young man. Like Xiao Yan, you may call Yao Lao," he replied. "Back in Wu Tan City, I already noticed your extraordinary potential. It's impressive how far you've co in just a few years.

Xiao Yan's creation of the Angry Buddha Fla Lotus, a fusion of two types of Heavenly Flas, had already left in awe. But you've managed to incorporate your own Thunder Soul into it—such control over the soul is beyond my capabilities. Given ti, even the She Zun Zhe might be able to revive in your hands."

"Yao Zun Zhe, the one I chose needs no validation from you," She Lao said with narrowed, serpent-like eyes. "However, you are mistaken on one point: this boy is not my successor. I have nothing to teach him."

"Oh?" Yao Lao's face showed a trace of surprise.

He had heard of She Zun Zhe's great power in Central Plains—unmatched, even without joining any faction, and even strong forces hesitated to provoke him.

Even disregarding his status as an alchemist, Yao Lao might not necessarily surpass She Zun Zhe.

For such a powerful Dou Zun to claim he had nothing to teach a re Da Dou Shi would be unbelievable if it weren't for the solemnity in his expression.

With that thought, Yao Lao turned to the youth nearby and chuckled. "It seems, Mo Yu, you carry quite a few secrets..."

"It's just that this junior can't learn She Lao's bloodline powers; I'm nowhere near as exceptional as he suggests," Mo Yu replied modestly.

Hearing this, Yao Lao rely smiled knowingly. Although She Zun Zhe was not human, nor did he cultivate traditional Dou Qi, his experience and strength as a Dou Zun far exceeded that of an ordinary Da Dou Shi.

Even a Dou Huang would be thrilled to receive a word of his guidance, let alone be deed unteachable by him.

There was only one explanation: Mo Yu possessed a formidable inheritance, one surpassing even the level of Dou Zun...

As a mber of the Yao Clan, Yao Lao was familiar with power beyond Dou Zun, so he wasn't overly surprised. Yet inwardly, his curiosity and regard for Mo Yu grew a bit deeper.

"Alright, you two should hide within the deep mountains from the Yun Lan Sect's search parties. You've both sustained injuries, and after this battle, She Zun Zhe and I won't be able to assist you again. Besides, the Hall of Souls likely won't let us off easily," Yao Lao said gravely.

She Zun Zhe also nodded solemnly, clearly apprehensive of the Hall of Souls's practice of capturing soul bodies.

Mo Yu and Xiao Yan both nodded knowingly. The battle with Yun Lan Sect had significantly drained Yao Lao and She Lao. Any further intervention would likely force them into slumber.

Not to ntion, the lurking Hall of Souls was a constant threat...

"Currently, the Yun Lan Sect's search teams are east, south, and north of here, so your only escape route is into the western forest," She Lao advised.

"And keep an eye on the skies; most of those figures are Yun Lan Sect elders who survived. Their strength is around the Dou Wang level, so if you run into them, you'll be in trouble."

"Understood." After Mo Yu responded, She Lao and Yao Lao exchanged a weary look before retreating into their respective rings.

Once their voices faded, Mo Yu and Xiao Yan carefully brushed aside the leaves, cautiously scanning below. Seeing no signs of danger, they slid down the tree trunks, moving swiftly and silently.

Upon landing, Mo Yu quickly surveyed the surroundings, then darted into a dense patch of undergrowth. Just as he entered, a seven-colored figure flashed past him. Looking up, he saw that it was none other than the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python in its snake form.

Others might struggle to locate the hiding Mo Yu, but to the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python, Mo Yu's Seven-Winged Purple-Gold Serpent aura was a clear guide in the air.

"Looks like Queen dusa has fallen asleep again." Mo Yu murmured as he extended his hand, and the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python obediently slithered up, flicking its tongue at him.

Seeing this, Xiao Yan also understood the python's fondness for Mo Yu, likely due to the connection with the ancient bloodline shared by She Zun Zhe.

With a sigh, Xiao Yan couldn't help but marvel at the twists of fate.
