Inside a secret chamber within Yuan Manor.

Staring at She Lao, who had fallen into a deep and permanent slumber, Mo Yu's silver eyes revealed a trace of sorrow. Letting out a soft sigh, he felt a mix of regret and renewed determination.

Although the evolution of the Nine-Winged Purple-Gold Serpent was challenging, it wasn't impossible.

Mo Yu recalled from the original story that Cai Lin entered the sacred grounds of the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python, the Nine Serene Springs.

There, she discovered a lair of the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python and completed her second evolution, advancing from the Seven-Colored to the Nine-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python through the inheritance within the lair.

This indicated that, although bloodlines like the Nine-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python or the Nine-Winged Purple-Gold Serpent had vanished from the Dou Qi Continent for tens of thousands of years, traces of their heritage still lingered.

Though Mo Yu knew nothing about the distribution of the Nine-Winged Purple-Gold Serpent's legacy, and the original story did not docunt it either, he was resolute. For She Lao, Mo Yu was willing to shoulder this imnse burden.

"Born between heaven and earth, one must take responsibility for sothing." Mo Yu's gaze turned firm. She Lao had burned his bloodline for Mo Yu's sake and was now permanently asleep. Mo Yu, no ingrate, would naturally do everything in his power to repay such a debt.

"Without She Lao, I'll have to rely on myself to navigate the Dou Qi Continent." Frowning slightly, Mo Yu rubbed his chin and sighed.

The loss of She Lao not only left Mo Yu with an arduous task but also deprived him of his most powerful trump card. She Lao's strength had been such that only those above the advanced Dou Zong level posed any threat to them. Without him, Mo Yu could only depend on his own strength to withstand the storms of the continent.

Currently, Mo Yu was at the Seven-Star Dou Wang level. Though his rapid rise from a One-Star Dou Ling to a Seven-Star Dou Wang within just two or three years in the Black-Corner Region was astounding, it still wasn't enough.

A Seven-Star Dou Wang, even with Mo Yu's abilities, could only rival a low-rank Dou Huang. For soone holding the title of Yuan Manor's Manor Lord—the Black-Corner Region's foremost power—his strength seed sowhat lacking.

Mo Yu furrowed his brows, aware of this shortcoming. Whether for managing Yuan Manor or venturing into the Central Plains in the future, he needed to strengthen himself. If he could break through to the Dou Huang level quickly, combining that power with his deep foundation, even high-rank Dou Huangs might not be his match.

To achieve this, Mo Yu set his sights on the Thunder Soul he had been nurturing. Yuan Manor now commanded the vast Black-Corner Region, with resources far surpassing even the combined reserves of ten empires like the Jia Ma Empire.

With such resources, Mo Yu could afford to fully cultivate the last-ranked Thunder Soul on the Thunder List, feeding it to its peak and harnessing the feedback energy to break into the Dou Huang level in one fell swoop.

While the lowest-ranked Thunder Soul might only rival a twentieth-ranked Heavenly Fla, with sufficient resources, nurturing it to its peak wasn't overly difficult.

"First, I must deal with the Lei Clan's experts." Mo Yu's silver eyes glimred as he set aside his plans temporarily and walked toward the main hall.

As Mo Yu erged from his seclusion, the mbers of Yuan Manor greeted him respectfully. Their eyes burned with fervent admiration as they watched the silver-eyed youth pass.

Who could have imagined that this young man, barely in his twenties, had single-handedly risen to build Yuan Manor into the Black-Corner Region's greatest power within just a few short years? His teoric rise was nothing short of legendary.

Mo Yu nodded in acknowledgnt of their greetings, pride swelling in his chest. His rapid ascension in the Black-Corner Region rivaled even his previous life's accomplishnts.

Upon reaching the main hall, he found a lean, black-robed figure busy at work—Yuan Manor's steward, Xiao Li.

"Mo Yu, you're here!" Xiao Li set aside his tasks, beaming at his cousin's arrival.

"Brother Xiao Li, thank you for your hard work these past few days." Mo Yu's tone was earnest. Although he was Yuan Manor's leader, his frequent seclusion left Xiao Li handling most of the daily affairs. Yuan Manor's rapid growth owed much to Xiao Li's tireless efforts.

"Don't ntion it. We're family, and this is nothing compared to what you've achieved." Xiao Li waved it off with a smile. Yuan Manor's expansion had energized him, and overseeing such a powerful faction as its steward filled him with pride.

"By the way, Mo Yu, about the three factions that broke their alliance during the battle with the Black Alliance—how should we handle them?" Xiao Li's expression grew serious.

"Do as you see fit. If they're willing to submit, spare them. If not, eliminate them." Mo Yu's tone was calm but resolute. As the dominant power in the Black-Corner Region, Yuan Manor needed to assert its authority.

Xiao Li nodded, emboldened by Mo Yu's decisiveness. Yuan Manor had the strength to back up such actions now.

As they spoke, a guard rushed in to announce the arrival of the Lei Clan's experts. Mo Yu's expression flickered, and Xiao Li's face turned solemn. The Lei Clan's presence had put everyone in Yuan Manor on edge. Although the Lei Clan's power was overwhelming, they had shown restraint so far, rely awaiting Mo Yu's ergence.

Xiao Li glanced at the composed Mo Yu, curiosity brimming in his heart. "What kind of secret does my cousin hold to attract such a powerful group?"

Before Xiao Li could ponder further, a towering figure clad in silver armor entered. The hall seed to hum faintly with the presence of crackling thunder. Mo Yu's silver eyes narrowed slightly as he sensed the imnse power radiating from Mang Ting, the Lei Clan's Dou Zun expert. This close, the man's strength was palpable—an unstoppable force.

Observing Mo Yu, Mang Ting's thunderous eyes narrowed as well, scrutinizing the young silver-eyed leader before him.

As Mang Ting's gaze t Mo Yu's silver eyes, his expression underwent a sudden shift. Through those silver pupils, he seed to see countless thunderbolts swirling, exuding a catastrophic might that rivaled the most destructive flas of the Dou Qi Continent. The terrifying, overwhelming aura was as if a sea of heavenly thunder was concentrated within.

This vision was sothing he had only witnessed in the sacred training ground of his clan—the "Demonic Thunder Pool."

"What a remarkable young man! No wonder the clan has been searching for him," Mang Ting murmured to himself. Retracting his gaze, his face turned solemn. Then, recalling the information his subordinates had recently gathered in the Jia Ma Empire, he nodded slowly in acknowledgnt.

"Captain Mang, I must thank you for saving She Lao the other day."

Though Mo Yu wasn't clear about the intentions of this powerful Lei Clan mber, his earlier act of saving She Lao had left a favorable impression. Thus, Mo Yu stepped forward and cupped his fists in gratitude as soon as Mang Ting entered the hall.

"No need for thanks," Mang Ting replied with a wave of his hand. His thunderous gaze briefly swept over Xiao Li, the descendant of the Xiao Clan, before locking onto Mo Yu. In a serious tone, he asked, "Mo Yu, how much do you know about the Lei Clan?"

Hearing the question, Mo Yu froze, mories from the original work surfacing in his mind. While the Lei Clan wasn't elaborated upon in detail, it was clear from fragnted ntions that this was a formidable clan, ranking among the top on the Dou Qi Continent.

Within the eight ancient clans, the Lei Clan ranked just below the Hun and Gu clans, excluding the now-declined Xiao Clan.

However, Mo Yu wasn't about to reveal this knowledge. Maintaining a composed deanor, he shook his head lightly. "I'm sorry, Captain Mang, but I know very little about the Lei Clan."

As expected, Mang Ting nodded. Despite the Lei Clan's imnse strength, their reclusive nature ant they were largely unknown to the common people, especially in remote regions like the northwest continent. Mo Yu's family, the Mo Clan of Yan City, was no exception—especially given its current state...

"The Lei Clan is a powerful lineage dating back to ancient tis. Our ancestor was a Dou Di. Because of this, every mber of the Lei Clan carries the bloodline of a Dou Di, granting them extraordinary talent.

Even the weakest among us would stand out in the Jia Nan Academy. Originally, there were eight such clans on the Dou Qi Continent, but now only seven remain." At this point, Mang Ting paused briefly, his gaze lingering on Xiao Li.

"A Dou Di?!"

Mo Yu's lips parted slightly in surprise, his silver eyes displaying just the right amount of shock. The mont this expression erged, Mang Ting caught it and nodded in satisfaction. After all, the legacy of a Dou Di was the pride of all eight ancient clans.

Maintaining his look of astonishnt, Mo Yu secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He was well aware of the ancient clans' lineage, but his current persona demanded ignorance. It wouldn't do to appear indifferent to such grand revelations.

Beside him, Xiao Li's genuine shock was far more apparent. For soone who had grown up in the small cities of the Jia Ma Empire, where a Dou Huang was the pinnacle of strength, hearing about a Dou Di was utterly mind-blowing.

As the shock subsided, Xiao Li's expression turned contemplative. He couldn't help but notice Mang Ting's gaze lingering on him when the latter ntioned the fall of one of the ancient clans. This brought a frown to Xiao Li's face, accompanied by a flash of confusion.

His Xiao Clan was a minor family in Wu Tan City, with their strongest ancestor barely reaching the level of a five-star Da Dou Shi. Such a family seed utterly disconnected from the fallen Dou Di bloodline.

Mang Ting noticed the wariness in Xiao Li's expression and paused. He hadn't anticipated his casual glance would provoke such vigilance. A cautious and ticulous person, he thought. If the Xiao Clan hadn't declined and their Dou Di bloodline remained, this one's accomplishnts might have surpassed mine.

Shaking his head, Mang Ting dismissed the thought. The Lei Clan had little attachnt to the Xiao Clan, and the two families had even clashed in the past. While they wouldn't actively suppress the Xiao Clan, neither would they lend a helping hand.

Redirecting his focus to Mo Yu, Mang Ting broke into a thunderous laugh. "Mo Yu, you'll understand more about the Lei Clan in ti. For now, my mission is to escort you back to the clan, under the orders of the patriarch."

"Back to the clan?" Mo Yu's brows furrowed slightly. "Captain Mang, I'm not part of your clan, am I?"

"Why are you so certain of that?" Mang Ting replied with a faint smile.

"Well... my surna is Mo. How could I be a mber of the Lei Clan?" Mo Yu said instinctively.

Mang Ting chuckled. "And my surna is Mang, yet I am of the Lei Clan. The dean of Jia Nan Academy, Mang Tianchi, is my uncle and a Lei Clan elder."

At this revelation, Mo Yu's expression froze, and his silver eyes locked onto Mang Ting.

Seeing Mo Yu's reaction, Mang Ting continued with a smile. "The Lei Clan isn't limited to those with the surna Lei. While Lei is the na of the main branch, the clan has many external branches. Among them, the four affiliated clans enjoy the greatest trust from the clan patriarch and elders. My Mang family is one of them.

From my investigation, your Mo Clan of Yan City originated in Central Plains over a thousand years ago. And you, Mo Yu, are a descendant of the Mo Clan, one of the Lei Clan's four affiliated clans."
