Yan Luotian hesitated for only a brief mont before making his decision. dusa was pressing in from the front, while Liu Xi closed in from behind—cutting off all paths of retreat.
Between the two threats, he quickly chose the lesser one. Compared to dusa, a true Dou Zong, Liu Xi was "rely" a Dou Huang. He, Yan Luotian, was no Mulan Valley elder—he was a genuine Dou Zong expert. Why should he fear a re Dou Huang?
That thought gave him courage.
With a cold glint in his eyes, Yan Luotian flicked his wrist, the golden feathers of his sword shimring as a burst of brilliant sword light forced dusa backward. Behind him, a pair of radiant golden wings unfolded, each feather radiating sharp sword intent.
"Ten Thousand Feathers Destruction Slash!"
In an instant, countless feather-shaped sword auras shot from his wings, forming twin golden sword wings more than ten ters wide on either side of him.
The blinding golden light made him appear as though he stood within a miniature sun—majestic, dazzling, divine.
Bathed in that light, Yan Luotian's already handso face now carried a sanctified, awe-inspiring air. With a slow sweep of his sword, he finally aid its tip at dusa.
"Die!"
With a sharp tremor of his wings, the two massive golden blades folded together before exploding outward, releasing a torrent of piercing sword light that filled the sky.
The sword qi sliced through the heavens, tearing shallow black scars across the void itself.
Below, the combined army of the three empires erupted in cheers. Whether from the Luo Yan Empire, the Mulan Empire, or the Ten Thousand Scorpion Gate, every soldier and expert roared with excitent.
Such a Dou Technique—it was too magnificent, too terrifying! Even imagining facing it made them shudder. Their morale, crushed by the earlier deaths of the Three Mulan Elders, now surged once again.
Facing the onslaught of countless golden sword beams, dusa's expression turned grave. Her instincts scread of danger.
In the next instant, boundless seven-colored energy erupted from her body, forming a massive Seven Colored Heaven Swallowing Python more than ten ters long.
Its multicolored scales glowed with divine brilliance rather than bloodlust—its presence both sacred and terrifying, like a primordial beast from ancient tis.
The serpent opened its jaws wide, unleashing a trendous suction force. The waves of golden feather-swords were drawn in one after another. The python's body trembled violently, its scales flashing, clearly struggling to digest the powerful energy it had devoured.
As the last sword light vanished into the serpent's maw, Yan Luotian seized the chance—turning sharply, he abandoned the fight and fled.
But before he could escape far, Liu Xi appeared before him once more.
Yan Luotian's face darkened. His sharp gaze fell on Liu Xi, whose body was cloaked in a strange, invisible fla and whose pupils had turned into cold, vertical slits. In that mont, even this proud Dou Zong felt a chill of unease.
But he no longer wanted to fight. Scowling, he threatened coldly, "Liu Xi, I don't have ti for you right now. Step aside if you know what's good for you—or die!"
Liu Xi ignored his bluster. His gaze, instead, was fixed on the magnificent golden wings behind Yan Luotian. The forging thod of this flying Dou Technique... combined with the Heaven Demon Phoenix bone wings he possessed... could prove invaluable.
Yan Luotian's face twisted in fury. Being ignored by a Dou Huang was the ultimate humiliation for a Dou Zong.
"You're looking for death!" he snarled. He couldn't afford to drag this out—if dusa caught up, his escape would be impossible.
With a sharp motion, his wings flared, sending a beam of golden light slicing through the air toward Liu Xi.
Liu Xi didn't flinch. Though his face remained calm, his heart grew cautious. His slender hand clenched, and a transparent fla-forged sword materialized within his grip.
The two streaks—one white, one gold—clashed in midair. Sparks of sword qi burst outward as the sky rang with the crisp clang of tal. Dozens of glowing slashes scarred the heavens, their trails lingering long after each strike.
Below, the strongn of the Gold Geese Sect—Dou Wangs and Dou Huangs alike—stared upward, their eyes wide. Even they could only see faint blurs of motion weaving across the sky.
This was a battlefield far beyond their reach. If they stepped in, they wouldn't survive ten exchanges.
Atop the fortress walls, Fa Ma, Hai Bodong, and Yun Yun watched with varied expressions. Liu Xi matching the Three Mulan Elders had already been astonishing—but holding his own against Yan Luotian, a true Dou Zong, left them utterly speechless.
High above, the two combatants separated after another collision, both looking disheveled.
Liu Xi's fla cloak was torn with several sword marks, blood seeping through. The spiked golden sword had pierced through the fla shield multiple tis.
Yet, with a wave of his hand, Liu Xi's invisible fire instantly repaired itself. The Fallen Heart Fla's endless energy kept his strength at full despite the exhaustion. Still, facing a true Dou Zong was no easy task.
Yan Luotian fared little better. His face was flushed red, his forehead dripping with cold sweat. The heart fla that had invaded his body earlier was still burning within him, scorching his Dou Qi and searing his ridians. He didn't dare go all out.
Staring at Liu Xi, he forced a grim smile. "Liu Xi, I'll give you one last chance. Step aside now, and I'll—"
"Serpent Spirit Bite!"
A flash of seven-colored light erupted from behind him.
The tip of a snake-shaped sword pierced straight through his chest, its deadly poison spreading rapidly through his veins.
Yan Luotian's eyes went wide with disbelief. Despair and horror filled them as he opened his mouth to speak, but only spat out a mouthful of iridescent, venomous blood. His life force vanished in monts, his eyes still open in death.
Another Dou Zong, slain without peace.
Liu Xi's face brightened. With a flick of his wrist, he collected the corpse and its ring, casting a glance of approval toward dusa, who stood at a distance, her sword still gleaming with seven-colored light.
"Sect Master…" ca the cries of anguish from the army below. Chaos broke out, and soon five Dou Huangs and eleven Dou Wangs rose into the air, flying toward the battlefield in a desperate charge.
Liu Xi only gave them a brief glance before turning to dusa. "Deal with them."
"Understood," she replied coldly. The other soul within her, now fully fused, made resistance to Liu Xi's command impossible.
Turning away, Liu Xi looked toward the final battlefield. The sickly green mists of poison conjured by Xie Bi Yan had grown thinner, but the fight still raged—he was holding his own against Jia Xingtian and Yao Tianhuo.
With his mastery over poison Dou Qi, Xie Bi Yan's strength rivaled even the Protectors of the Hall of Souls. Though such techniques corroded one's body and lifespan, they undeniably granted terrifying combat power.
