Now reading: Chapter 228 228: Cultivating the Heaven Burning Finger from BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi, a Action novel by FallenArchangel.

Within the silent depths of the Wormhole, space itself was eerily still.

Zi Yan, that impatient girl, had already lost interest in piloting the Space Boat, so the task once again fell upon Liu Xi and Xiao Yixian, who alternated shifts steering through the void.

When Xiao Yixian took over, Liu Xi finally had ti to rest. After exchanging a few words with her, he turned and entered the cabin.

"Heaven Burning Finger… let's see just how powerful you really are."

Sitting cross-legged on the bed, Liu Xi flicked his finger, and a jade box appeared in his palm.

The mont he opened it, a wave of heat surged out. Within lay a crimson scroll, wreathed in faint illusory flas that flickered and danced quietly.

He reached inside and grasped the scroll. The surface was warm to the touch, smooth like polished jade.

Drawing it out, Liu Xi exhaled softly, his expression a mix of excitent and vigilance. Slowly, he began to unroll the scroll.

A blinding light burst forth, forcing him to turn his head and shut his eyes instinctively. Even so, his mind reeled under the sudden impact of spiritual dissonance.

Liu Xi imdiately steadied himself, channeling his Dou Qi like a roaring torrent to anchor his body and soul.

"Hm?"

The majestic flood of Dou Qi surged through his ridians. An overwhelming strength filled every fiber of his being — it was as if the vast void itself bent to his will. For a brief mont, Liu Xi felt an almost divine sense of control.

Opening his eyes, he found himself standing beneath a vast azure sky.

"This… where is this place? An illusion?"

He looked down at his own body, sensing the imnse, unfamiliar power coursing through it.

"No, this isn't… my body."

Then, a thunderous voice shattered the heavens.

"Heaven Burning Finger!"

Liu Xi's heart tightened. He raised his gaze and saw, far across the horizon, a blinding sun erupt — a searing orb that radiated unbearable heat and light.

Within that solar blaze, a colossal finger, hundreds of ters long and wrapped in raging flas, pierced through the heavens, descending upon him like a judgnt from the divine.

Terror seized him. His teeth chattered uncontrollably, his heart pounded as if trying to burst free from his chest.

'I'll die… I'll definitely die…'

The pressure of death swallowed him whole. He could barely move, his body stiff and unresponsive, as though sinking into an endless abyss.

Then, instinct roared within him — the will to live. Fear was replaced by unyielding rage and bloodthirst.

"Damn it… MOVE! No one kills !"

Liu Xi's arm trembled, struggling against the crushing power. His Dou Qi erupted violently, flooding outward like a raging tide.

Crack! Crackle!

The space within dozens of ters around him warped and twisted under the invisible force, contorting like molten steel. Black fissures spiderwebbed through the air, tearing through the void itself.

Though it seed close, the truth was that the flaming finger's power transcended distance — even a Dou Zong would be annihilated before touching him.

A heartbeat later, the gigantic pillar of fire descended, blotting out the sky. The temperature soared; the world seed to burn.

Shrrkk!

The blazing column tore through space, engulfing Liu Xi's vision in pure destruction.

For an instant, all thought ceased. His body disintegrated under the overwhelming force.

Yet in that fleeting mont before oblivion, ti itself froze — and a proud, ancient voice echoed in his mind.

"The Heaven Burning Finger — a Dou Technique I spent ten years perfecting, inspired by the solar explosion. As you see, I once slew a 9-Star Dou Zun with a single strike."

"Those who inherit this technique must not disgrace my na!"

Even without a body, Liu Xi felt the urge to curse.

'Really? You couldn't have shown from your perspective? You had to let experience it from the victim's side to prove how strong it is? Damn you, old man!'

In the next instant, Liu Xi jolted awake, gasping for air. Sweat soaked his clothes, his heart still pounding with lingering fear.

Looking around, he found himself back in his cabin — the familiar walls, the bed, the scroll in his hand glowing faintly.

"Heaven Burning Finger is… truly powerful. But that old man's teaching thod— definitely unorthodox."

He sighed, shaking his head in exasperation.

Taking a deep breath, Liu Xi looked down at the now-open scroll. The elegant, dragon-like characters radiated faint destructive energy.

"Heaven Burning Finger — Fire incinerates all beings, the finger destroys heaven and earth…"

He read the text over and over. As he repeated the incantations, comprehension slowly crystallized. Every line etched itself into his heart and mind.

When he finally set the scroll aside, Liu Xi closed his eyes once more. The essence of the technique replayed vividly in his consciousness.

Opening his eyes, he raised his right hand.

Fiery Dou Qi, streaked with azure fla, surged toward his index finger.

The energy coursed through countless micro-veins, expanding them under imnse pressure until pain flared sharply. A trace of destructive aura leaked from his fingertip — eerily similar to the force he had felt in the illusion.

But the strain was imnse. His finger trembled violently; the thin ridians inside scread under the torrent of Dou Qi.

"If I force this, the ridians will shatter… this Dou Technique's power is incredible, but it sure ruins your finger."

He let out a pained chuckle. "To truly master it, I'll need to temper my finger — refine every micro-ridian until it can withstand this force."

Just then, the crimson scroll trembled. A strange suction force drew in the destructive aura radiating from his fingertip.

"Hm? Could it be…"

Liu Xi's brows lifted as realization dawned. He waited.

Half an hour later, the scroll lted into a ball of scarlet liquid that floated before him, radiating molten heat.

He hesitated briefly, then gritted his teeth and plunged his glowing index finger into the liquid.

A searing pain like molten lava surged through him. The energy invaded his flesh, bones, and every microscopic vein, tearing them apart — only to fuse them back together, reforging them stronger each ti.

Again and again, the agony repeated, each cycle remolding him anew.

By the ti the red liquid was completely absorbed, Liu Xi's face was pale, his body trembling, but his finger shone with a golden tallic luster.

"Finally done…" he panted, exhaling a long breath. "The old man really was considerate — strengthening my finger so I can handle this technique properly."

He stared at his index finger, now radiating the sheen of tempered gold and iron — as tough and sharp as a divine weapon.
