Roxy stared at the water, rubbing her arm.
Since it was technically sumr, the water was crisp and cool rather than bone-chilling, though the massive trees made the air feel cold.
Kaelen sat waist-deep in the rushing water, looking like a sulking wet dog.
It reminded Roxy of her husky she left back on earth.
And surprisingly enough, right now, Kaelan acted like him.
Roxy stood on the bank, her sleeves rolled up, wielding a bright yellow, flower-shaped loofah she had purchased from the System Shop.
"Arms up, Clifford," Roxy commanded, stepping onto a flat rock to reach him better. "If I find one tick on you, I’m shaving you bald."
Kaelen grumbled, clearly annoyed at her tone, but he obeyed. He lifted his massive arms, exposing his scarred ribs to her rcy. He looked completely out of his elent.
The Wolf King, the Scourge of the North... was currently being bathed like a toddler.
It didn’t make any sense. But Roxy right now knew that her life didn’t make sense.
"The water..." Kaelen murmured, tilting his head back to look at dirty water. "It washes away the dust on our body."
Normally, he would soak himself inside the water in his wolf form and get out. But now in his human form, he was being cleaned by a female.
"It’s called hygiene, Kaelen. It’s a revolutionary concept," Roxy muttered. She squeezed a dollop of [Post-Partum Lavender & Honey Body Wash] onto the loofah. The sweet, floral scent exploded into the air, warring with the sll of wet pine and damp earth. "Now, hold still."
She ran the sponge down his broad back. He flinched at the contact, his skin rippling over his muscle.
"Easy," Roxy soothed, her voice softening. She traced a particularly nasty claw mark on his shoulder blade. "I’m just getting the gri off. You can’t be an Alpha if you sll like a swamp."
Kaelen watched her. His eyes were a piercing, crystalline blue, swirling with an intensity that made the hair on Roxy’s arms stand up.
"You touch without fear," Kaelen whispered. "Even the Elders do not touch . To touch the King is death."
Roxy shivered.
Well I do hope, I don’t end up being steak tonight.
"Well, lucky for you, I’m the Queen of the dragons," Roxy quipped, moving the sponge to his chest. She circled his pectoral muscles, noticing how his breath hitched. "And in my kingdom, the King gets scrubbed."
Her mind flashed to Zarek and her heart ached. How she missed her big overgrown lizard.
Was Lyra taking care of their baby well?
She dragged the sponge lower, dipping it beneath the surface of the cool stream to wash his abs. Kaelen’s body was tense, reacting to her touch not with relaxation, but with the desire burning in his body.
Roxy noticed that.

"You missed a spot," Roxy teased, her voice dropping an octave. She let her hand linger just above his waistline beneath the water. "Right... here."
Kaelen’s pupils widened, he gulped. As the torrent of desire he was afraid to unleash, suddenly broke like a dam.
"Enough," he snarled.
Kaelen surged out of the stream. Water cascaded off his naked form, glistening in the filtered moonlight. He didn’t care about being clean. He didn’t care about the soap.
He grabbed Roxy by the waist, his wet hands soaking her body instantly.
"Hey! I wasn’t done rinsing!" Roxy yelped as he hauled her effortlessly against his soaking wet body.
"I do not want to be clean!" Kaelen roared, the sound echoing off the trees. "I want to feed!"

He tackled her.
They went down onto the bank of the stream, crashing into the tall, sumr grass. The ground was damp but soft. Kaelen was burning and Roxy could feel it, her heart was beating in her chest and she knew it was all her fault. She shouldn’t have provoked him.
"Kaelen!" Roxy gasped, the wind knocked out of her. "We’re outside! You—"
He silenced her with a kiss Roxy didn’t know he knew how to do. It wasn’t gentle. He devoured her mouth, his teeth grazing her lip, his tongue demanding entry.
It was the kiss of a man who thought he would die if he didn’t taste her right this second.
Her lips just looked too deliciously inviting that he couldn’t hold himself back.
"Mine," he growled against her throat, his nose inhaling her scent frantically.
Roxy shivered from the biting air, but that didn’t linger for too long when Kaelen shielded her with his massive fra, his body heat burning her from inside out.
Her mind was saying run, but with a gulp. She realized how fucked up she must have been.
"I want you to save us like you saved, the dragon clan." He whispered in a strangled voice.
Before Roxy could speak...
He positioned himself between her legs, his expression twisted in pained ecstasy. He didn’t wait for her to adjust. He thrust into her with a primal, animalistic need.
Roxy cried out, her hands scrabbling for purchase in the grass.
It was intense. Too intense.
If Zarek was a heavy, warm blanket, Kaelen was a storm. He was sharp, fast, and rough. He moved with a frantic, jerky rhythm, his hips slamming into hers as if he were trying to rge their bodies by force.
"Kaelen! Slow down!" Roxy panted, digging her nails into his wet shoulders. "You’re going to break !"
He growled, like beast being told no.
The pleasure was too intense for Roxy, she liked it rough, but this was just too rough for her, to the point she was adjusting her hips to suit the rhythm she wanted.

He bit her shoulder, hard. It wasn’t enough to draw blood, but it left a mark.
Roxy scread from the tingling pain. As she gripped him tightly, her eyes rolling back.
He was claiming her just like the way she read in books!
But no one told her that it would be this painful! It felt like they were tearing her soul apart from the inside. Her nipples hardened more than before and she began to grind herself against him.
