Standing outside the gynecology clinic, Cheng Su felt a bit timid, tightly holding Qi Taiguo’s hand.
"What are you doing? Since when are you afraid to see a doctor? You’re not a child anymore, right?" Qi Taiguo said, deliberately laughing.
Cheng Su glared at him and said, "I’m just scared, okay?" She was afraid to hear sothing bad from the doctor.
"I’m here with you, what is there to be afraid of!"
Just as Cheng Su was about to speak, she heard the doctor inside calling for patients, and another woman walked out from inside.
Cheng Su took a deep breath and walked in, Qi Taiguo accompanying her side by side.
"Doctor Lao, my sister-in-law recomnded you to , saying you’re an expert in gynecology. Last year we lost a child, and we haven’t been able to get pregnant this year, so we want to check if there’s any problem with our bodies!" Cheng Su forced a smile.
Cheng Su wasn’t deliberately trying to laugh at him; in fact, the doctor’s surna was Lao.
The old doctor glanced at her and began various examinations, asking when her period ca, if there were any uncomfortable places, and so on.
His two fingers rested on Cheng Su’s pulse, eyes slightly closed, then switched to the other hand.
Cheng Su was very nervous.
"You two aren’t using contraception?"
"No! We’re trying for a baby, but just haven’t been able to conceive!" Cheng Su sheepishly replied, then nervously asked, "Doctor, is there sothing wrong?"
"Don’t feel uncomfortable, want to vomit or feel tightness in the chest?"
Cheng Su was taken aback.
"Doctor, is sothing bad?" Qi Taiguo also started to feel nervous.
Doctor Lao gave him a glance: "It’s not bad; if there’s sothing, it’s good news!"
Both were a bit dumbfounded.
"The pulse isn’t very clear, but if I’m not mistaken, you’re probably already pregnant. It’s early days, so the pulse isn’t clear. You said the last couple of days are your nstrual period, right? Co back in a few days for a test, and you’ll know!" Doctor Lao said slowly.
What?
Pregnant?
Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo both were stunned.
After a while, Cheng Su managed to utter: "Doctor, you’re saying I’m pregnant?"
Qi Taiguo also clenched his fists, staring at Doctor Lao, wishing he could punch a hole through him.
"It’s too early to diagnose." Doctor Lao spoke with a bit of an old-fashioned tone.
"But isn’t there a test for early pregnancy and ultrasounds? Doctor, could you give a prescription? I want to test it!" Cheng Su pleaded.
She didn’t want to wait, even if it was just a possibility; she wanted to know the result.
"I don’t have any symptoms right now, you said sothing about nausea and chest tightness, I haven’t felt those, Doctor..."
"That’s why I said it’s not certain yet. Wait a few more days, then co back for an examination. Hmm, if your period is seven days late, co back and check!" Doctor Lao calculated on his fingers.
"No, Doctor, I want to check now, isn’t there a urine test or sothing?" Cheng Su interrupted him.
She couldn’t handle the tornt of waiting!
Doctor Lao looked at her, then at Qi Taiguo.
"Doctor, we’ve been trying for a baby since April or May, and only now hearing so news!" Qi Taiguo also pleaded.
"Alright, alright!"
With the prescription, Qi Taiguo told Cheng Su to sit still while he quickly went to pay, grabbed a series of items, to the restroom, for testing, and waited for the results.
"Do you think it’s true, or is he tricking us? Could he have misdiagnosed? He’s pretty old, so mistakes aren’t surprising." Cheng Su asked, sowhat incoherently.
Qi Taiguo smiled widely: "The doctor recomnded by my sister-in-law can’t be wrong, don’t worry, once the results are out, we’ll know!"
Cheng Su clasped her hands tightly, staring intently at the test window.
