Even though Cheng Su was unwilling, she knew that in her current condition, she needed company. Not to ntion, she had lost a child before, so her health was comparatively weaker, and she had to be extra careful.
Qi Taiguo called back ho and told Father Qi to co over for the New Year. Initially, they were reluctant, saying there were still livestock and other things at ho. After much persuasion, they agreed, planning to co on the 29th of the lunar month.
As for accommodation, there were a few vacant houses in the compound. Qi Taiguo had contacted the military and chose a two-room apartnt in the sa building, paid the rent, and rented it for a month, which was sufficient.
Since the in-laws were coming, although there was accommodation, there were no blankets or covers, so she had to go to the city to prepare.
Qi Taiguo was busy with military duties and had no spare ti, so Cheng Su took Mother Qi to Luh Kai’s supply and marketing cooperative in the city.

"Our family is celebrating the New Year in Qing City this year, and we don’t have enough covers at ho. So, I ca to pick so out," Cheng Su said with a smile. "But this ti, you’ll have to deliver them to my ho!"
"Sure, ho delivery is simple," Luh Kai said generously.
Mother Qi squeezed over, glanced at Luh Kai, and asked Cheng Su, "Who is this?" Why did their daughter-in-law seem so familiar with a man?
"This is a friend of Taiguo and , Luh Kai, also the manager of this cooperative," Cheng Su explained to prevent any misunderstanding from her mother-in-law and also introduced, "My mother-in-law!"
"Hello, ma’am!" Luh Kai smiled warmly.
Mother Qi just uttered an "oh" and stepped aside, occasionally glancing at the two of them.
Cheng Su felt very uncomfortable and said to Luh Kai, "Are you busy? I’ll take a look and buy the items."
Luh Kai also noticed Mother Qi’s odd behavior, knowing she might have misunderstood, felt awkward, and said, "Once you’ve picked out everything, have the sales associate notify before you pay!"
Cheng Su nodded.
After Luh Kai left, Mother Qi ca over and said, "You two seem quite close!"
Cheng Su whispered, "Mom, he’s not just our friend, but also a shareholder in my restaurant, a business partner, so of course, we’re close!"
Mother Qi saw she was unhappy, wanting to retort but noticed her belly; rembering her son’s words, thinking being pregnant might make her temperantal, she decided to endure.
Alright, for the sake of her grandson, she would endure.
"I was just asking!" Mother Qi mumbled softly.
Cheng Su let out a sigh, not wanting to stay here any longer, quickly picked out the items, paid, bought so New Year goods, and then went ho to rest.
When Qi Taiguo returned, he didn’t see Cheng Su, only Mother Qi peeling so garlic in the living room: "Mom, where’s my wife?"
"Lying in the room!" Mother Qi gestured with her mouth.
Qi Taiguo gave an acknowledgnt and was about to go inside to check on her when Mother Qi pulled him aside and cautiously asked about Luh Kai, "Do you know him? Your wife said you were friends?"
"Yeah, why?" Qi Taiguo didn’t understand but still responded.
Mother Qi awkwardly said, "I just saw her so friendly with that man, and when you’re married, you should keep so distance from other n. Being all touchy-feely is embarrassing..."
Qi Taiguo’s face turned dark, almost losing his temper, but thinking of Cheng Su, quickly pulled her to the side of the restroom and said angrily, "Mom, what nonsense are you thinking? It’s not what you think. I’m telling you, don’t let Cheng Su hear this. Otherwise, with her temper and being pregnant, what if she gets upset?"
Mother Qi, seeing how nervous he was, pursed her lips and kept reminding herself, for the sake of the grandson, to endure!
