"About her relationship, Xiao Na originally planned to tell Mom and Dad when she went back for the New Year. But then the hospital incident happened, and she was pretty angry, so she never ntioned it."

Qin Bogang frowned. "Well, that’s where Xiao Na is wrong. You can’t just not tell your parents about sothing as important as marriage. Oh, and another thing, I have to talk to you about what happened. Your temper’s gotten too big. Mom only said a few words; did you really have to refuse to co ho for the New Year over it? Besides, you never used to be like this. You made Mom furious last ti. She even said that Su Yun must have put you up to it, that she’s the reason you’ve changed."

Qin Zhonghui had always respected his older brother, but after hearing that last part, he couldn’t hold back any longer.

He said angrily, "Why are you dragging Xiao Yun into this? For all these years, Mom and Dad have played favorites and never treated well. That’s a fact, isn’t it?"

Caught off guard by the outburst from his usually mild-tempered younger brother, Qin Bogang felt his pride sting. He said sheepishly, "But they’re our mom and dad, after all."

Qin Jiao, listening from the sidelines, was also furious. But with an uncle like him—obsessed with saving face, always trying to smooth things over without solving anything, and fond of lecturing people from his self-appointed pedestal as an elder—soone needed to set him straight.

Qin Jiao suddenly spoke up from the side. "First Uncle, did you co over to secretly bad-mouth my mom to my dad?"

Qin Bogang looked at the innocent expression on his niece’s face. He said stiffly, "No. You’re just a child, don’t talk nonsense."

"Oh, good. As long as you weren’t. My mom has already had to put up with so much. She works herself to the bone at Grandpa and Grandma’s house and never gets any credit for it, while my third aunt is so idle all she does is play mahjong all day. To compare them and still find fault with my mom would be just too unfair."

Qin Bogang knew perfectly well how lazy his third brother’s wife was. Compared to her, Su Yun was indeed far more diligent, so he found it hard to say anything more on the subject.

Qin Jiao continued with a look of ’innocence.’ "First Uncle, you, First Aunt, and my other aunt are the good ones. See, last ti Grandma was sick, my dad paid for all the dical expenses. You and First Aunt paid him back, and my other aunt contributed too. But my third uncle and his wife didn’t give a single di, even though they had just taken the six hundred yuan that you and Dad gave to Grandpa and Grandma."

To Qin Bogang, six hundred yuan was a huge sum of money!

In fact, paying Qin Zhonghui back had been his wife Sun Li’s idea. Qin Bogang himself had been reluctant, feeling it was unnecessary between brothers, but in the end, he hadn’t been able to win the argunt with her.

Hearing his niece praise him made him feel a little guilty.

Qin Bogang felt too embarrassed to continue nagging his brother’s family about not coming ho for the New Year. He cleared his throat and switched back to the previous topic.

He said to Qin Zhonghui, "Xiao Na absolutely has to tell Mom and Dad about her relationship. And another thing... that Sun Jianhua may seem like a decent guy, but isn’t he a bit too poor? He has no house, he’s just a vegetable seller at the market, and he cos with baggage. If Xiao Na marries him, isn’t she just setting herself up for a life of suffering?"

After spending so ti with him, Qin Zhonghui had co to think Sun Jianhua was a decent man. He frowned and said, "It doesn’t matter if he’s a little poor right now. Both of them are hardworking people. As long as they work hard together, side by side, just like Xiao Yun and I did, they’ll build a good life. As for the child, Xiao Na gets along with him just fine. It’s not a big problem."

Qin Bogang’s frown deepened. "Well, I, for one, don’t approve!"

"First Uncle, it seems you really care a lot about our aunt."

Qin Bogang turned to find that his niece, Qin Jiao, was still there. There was nothing wrong with her statent, however, so he simply nodded.

Qin Jiao then pressed on, "In that case, do you think Grandma cares about our aunt?"
