Shen Yi had been reborn, so of course, he was much calr and more composed.
Besides, right now, Xiao Shi was what mattered most.
Since she needed to check on her sister, Qin Jiao had Shen Yi wait in the living room. She confird her sister’s breathing was normal, but there was a large lump on her head. She figured Xiao Shi had passed out from the impact and worried she might have a concussion.
As for whether the fool she had struck had a concussion, Qin Jiao couldn’t care less.
The man had been about to do *that* to Xiao Shi. Xiao Shi was only ten years old, just a little girl! He should be thankful he was too stupid to even get his belt undone in ti, that he hadn’t managed to do the deed.
If he had succeeded, Qin Jiao would never have spared him, fool or not!
Qin Jiao found a few bruises on her sister’s body, which ant she had been beaten, but there were no other wounds. Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief and help her sister get dressed.
Just then, Xiao Shi groggily ca to. She was dazed and disoriented at first, but when she finally recognized the person in front of her as her own sister, she let out a wail and burst into tears.
Her voice was hoarse, likely from screaming for help to no avail.
The terrified little girl called out hoarsely, again and again, "Sister, Sister, Sister..."
She was like a small, wounded animal that had finally found its protector. Her whole body relaxed, but she was still terrified.
Qin Jiao’s heart was breaking. She held her sister tightly, gently patting Xiao Shi’s back. "It’s okay, Xiao Shi. Don’t be afraid. Sister’s here. No one can ever hurt you."
The little girl sobbed for a long ti, her sister’s gentle voice giving her a boundless sense of security.
After ten or so minutes, she finally cald down. Noticing she had soaked her sister’s shirt with tears, she whispered, "Sister, I got your clothes all wet."
"It’s fine. As long as it’s my Xiao Shi, you can cry enough to wash away and it’ll still be okay."
Xiao Shi quickly replied, "No, no, no! I’d never cry enough to wash you away, Sister. If I’m washing anyone away, it’ll be that awful auntie and her family!"
Seeing that Xiao Shi had finally cald down a bit, Qin Jiao gave her so Spiritual Spring Water to drink. She also happened to have so sponge cakes in her space. Xiao Shi had missed two als and suffered a terrible fright, so after eating sothing and drinking the sweet water, she finally settled down.
Qin Jiao asked, "Xiao Shi, why did you get off at that stop?"
"I wasn’t planning on getting off. That bad auntie was sitting next to , and on my other side was another woman. She’s one of your classmates—I saw her talking to you once when I visited your school. She kept talking to , saying what good friends you two were. Then I sneezed, and she gave a handkerchief to wipe my face. After that, I got really drowsy and fell asleep. When I woke up, I was at that bad auntie’s house. Her son, Little Fatty, even kicked , and the scariest part was his fool of a brother... he was trying to touch ..."
"I was terrified and tried to run, but the fool pushed . I hit the wall, and... then I don’t rember anything else..."
Qin Jiao was so furious she felt like she could shatter her teeth. If she wasn’t mistaken, the handkerchief must have been laced with a knockout drug—the kind kidnappers used in this day and age.
And the woman with Lin Xiaohua, the one who claid to be her classmate, was none other than Lin Nian! It had to be.
Qin Jiao imdiately grabbed a nearby pencil and paper and, with a few swift strokes, drew a portrait. She showed it to Xiao Shi. "The woman who said she was my classmate, did she look like this?"
Xiao Shi nodded emphatically. "Yes, that’s her!"
