Qin Zhonghui and Su Yun were stunned! She had a whole script prepared!

However, they both trusted their eldest daughter completely, so they imdiately lit a lamp to burn the midnight oil, morizing the words on the paper.

The paper also detailed certain issues, such as how much money they had given Mr. Qin and his wife, and so on.

Xiao Shi tugged on Qin Jiao’s hem. "Sis, what do I need to say then?"

Qin Jiao patted her fluffy head and said with a smile, "When the ti cos, all you have to do is cry your heart out!"

Xiao Shi: "Okay!" ’That, she could do!’

Next door, the mood was somber for Mr. Qin and his wife. They could hear low voices from the second son’s ho, but they couldn’t make out what was being said.

Old Mrs. Qin sighed. "Everything was fine. Why do they have to divide the family? Isn’t it nice for a big family to live together?"

Mr. Qin was fuming. He sneered, "Then why don’t you go ask that ’good’ son of yours!"

"Sigh... Zhong Hui has been so quiet and honest since he was a child. Why would he suddenly bring up dividing the family?" Old Mrs. Qin fretted.

Mr. Qin tapped the bowl of his pipe on the concrete floor. "It must be that Su Yun who put him up to it," he said. "I was against him marrying her from the very beginning. Look now, she’s got him wanting to split up the family!"

Old Mrs. Qin actually felt Su Yun was decent, but she had never defied Mr. Qin in her life. In the end, she rely lanted, "Really, her only shortcoming is not having a son. In other ways, well..."

Ultimately, she said nothing more.

As for Qin Jiqun and his wife in the front courtyard, they couldn’t sleep either.

Feng Lan said, "Ji Qun, how do you think your father will divide the property? No matter what, Second Brother’s family doesn’t have any sons, and your parents will be living with us. Both houses should be left to us, right?"

Qin Jiqun wasn’t one to overthink things. "Who knows," he said.

Feng Lan wasn’t actually too concerned about the second brother’s family. She continued, "Oh, right, why are they calling Eldest Brother’s family back? Weren’t they already portioned off before?"

"Ugh, stop nagging. We won’t lose out, no matter what. Let’s just sleep."

But Feng Lan had no desire to sleep. Propping her chin on her hand, she said, "I’m thinking about that girl, Qin Jiao. Seriously, the way people are talking, it sounds completely true. They said when she went to that competition, the two of them even slept in the sa bed! We should go ask their teacher about this later. The teacher would definitely know!"

Qin Jiqun had already started snoring. He truly didn’t care.

He didn’t care about the family division, nor did he care about his niece’s supposed scandal.

All he knew was that his own comfortable life would go on as usual.

Left talking to herself, Feng Lan huffed a couple of tis and went to sleep too.

Early the next morning, Old Mrs. Qin was up as usual to feed the chickens and ducks. Su Yun also got up to make breakfast. In the front courtyard, Feng Lan only rose after breakfast had already been prepared in the back.

Feng Lan ca over with a bowl to get breakfast. As she helped herself, she remarked, "My, Sister-in-law, these scallion pancakes you make are just delicious. It’s a sha we won’t be able to eat them in the future."

Su Yun replied in a flat tone, "They’re very simple to make. Much simpler than playing cards. Anyone with a brain can learn in no ti."

Feng Lan’s expression soured. She sneered, "No need to be sarcastic, Sister-in-law. I can’t help it that I’m better at having children than you are. I may have only had one, but at least he’s a son."

Su Yun frowned.

Nearby, Qin Jiao was helping Su Yun. She smiled with pure innocence. "I don’t know about being good at giving birth, but being bad at raising them is a certainty."

"Who do you think you’re talking about, you little brat!" Feng Lan’s eyes bulged with fury.

Qin Jiao feigned a look of sudden realization. "Oh, I didn’t say who. You shouldn’t assu I’m talking about you, Auntie."
