Zhao Gang sat by the last trap, constantly wiping his sweat. "Good thing we didn’t bring the kids up here."

Otherwise, managing the kids and taking care of the ga, I really wouldn’t know what to do.

Gong Tao was also dumbfounded. In fact, he had followed Zhao Gang up the mountain before, but never with such a haul.

Looking at a very fat wild boar, "What are we going to do with this?"

Gong Tao’s question wasn’t just about how to bring it down, but also how to handle all that pork.

If all this at was taken out to treat the villagers, they’d imdiately realize it was wild boar after taking a bite.

Although they usually handled their hunting on their own, dealing with bigger animals like boars required getting the villagers involved.

The person who caught the wild boar would get a bigger share of the at, but Gong Tao felt it was a bit unfair.

Zhao Gang took out so at strips he brought along. "We’ll move it to the backyard, I’ll carve up the boar, and then I’ll find a way to sell it tonight."

Although wild boar at doesn’t have much fat and isn’t very popular, it can still be sold in the county town.

"Anyway, we’ve got enough at for a feast, several pheasants, and hares." Zhao Gang thought his luck was extraordinarily good.

No, it wasn’t his luck that was good, but rather, it should be said that Gong Tao’s luck was good. "In the years I’ve been here, honestly, I haven’t caught many wild boars."

"I always hunted them with the villagers, but this ti it was just the two of us, and we can at least sell it for a few dozen yuan." Zhao Gang was being modest; he estimated that even if the offal couldn’t be sold, the at alone should fetch over a hundred yuan without a problem.

"Then we’ll go together and split it fifty-fifty."

Gong Tao felt embarrassed taking it, as it was Zhao Gang who dug the traps, and he was just there to help. How could he take so much benefit?

"Take it. We agreed to split it." Zhao Gang wouldn’t listen to Gong Tao’s argunts. "Alright, you know the way down the mountain, right? You take so ga down first and tell Xuran."

Moving such a heavy wild boar down by themselves is quite challenging. Luckily, Zhao Gang had made a simple transport board before to carry grain down.

Gong Tao responded, picked up the pheasants and other ga, and rushed down the mountain.

"Dad." Gong Ruini had been waiting anxiously at the door for them to return and was overjoyed when she finally saw Gong Tao’s figure.

Although Zhao Xuran said there was no danger on the mountain, the presence of wild boars couldn’t be denied, and when they go crazy, it’s no joke.

Seeing only Gong Tao co back without Uncle Zhao scared Gong Ruini, making her think sothing might have happened if not for Gong Tao’s cheerful face.

"What, wild boar?"

"Wild boar?"

Everyone was surprised to hear Gong Tao say Zhao Gang was guarding a wild boar up on the mountain.

Zhan Jing, seeing Gong Tao co back alone, knew there must have been sothing big, but she never expected it would be a wild boar. "Xuran, go get the board."

"I’ll stand guard at the back door when the ti cos." Though where they lived was pretty secluded, you couldn’t be sure soone wouldn’t wander by and see they’d caught a wild boar, which they’d have to report.

"Okay, okay." After drinking a few sips of tea, Gong Tao picked up a water bottle filled with hot water, ready to go back up.

"Dad, I want to go too." Gong Ruwen pulled at his shirt, asking eagerly.

"I want to go too," Zhao Guangran said firmly.

Although Ruini wanted to go too, knowing it was a bit far from ho and after a busy day, she decided not to delay the adults and offered to help boil water, which is needed for butchering the pig.

Uncle Zhao and the others had had a busy day, and they’d need to eat sothing hot when they got back.

"Alright, you all go." Since it was largely about transporting the ga, Gong Tao thought it shouldn’t be a problem and agreed to let the three boys go up to help.

It’s important to train boys well, letting them do more work. The family didn’t raise boys who were pampered and didn’t work.

Zhao Guangran gave Gong Ruini a smirk, to which she turned the back of her head, huffing, "Did you not hear that I was the one who first said I didn’t want to go? Did I not speak Chinese?"

After getting everything ready, Gong Tao took the three kids up the mountain before the sun went down.

Once the sun sets, the mountain becos very dangerous, not to ntion they still had to transport the wild boar to the county for sale.

"Ni Zi and I will handle it." Cai ina stopped Zhan Jing, who was planning to get up and help.

Although Zhan Jing and the others didn’t go up the mountain today, they still had heavy tasks. They gathered over a hundred pounds of firewood, picked lots of mushrooms, and caught enough fish to make several good dishes later. Plus, they kept fish in an aquarium.

The harvest was great, but everyone was also busy. Zhan Jing, being pregnant, was especially busy and found her calves getting tight when she got ho.

Zhan Jing didn’t hesitate to ask Cai ina for help. She really needed a good rest; otherwise, she felt she might face serious problems.

After settling Zhan Jing down, Cai ina started to boil water, planning to make so dumpling soup.

By the ti Zhao Gang and the others ca down, it would be almost dinner ti, and they’d need to prepare so snacks for them too. If they were to drive to the county to sell it overnight, they’d have to take the night road.

What to make? Maybe so stead buns, and put so at strips in them. That would be good, Cai ina thought, figuring you’d make food for the n to take out, and started preparing the flour.

The family didn’t have much of other things, but they had plenty of grain, which was a relief for Cai ina; otherwise, having to calculate everything every day would be even more tiring.

"Mom, let help you make buns." Seeing Cai ina with a lot of flour, Gong Ruini knew she ant to make buns, and after washing her hands, she prepared to help Cai ina.

"Alright." It’s always good for girls to know so kitchen work. At first, Cai ina was reluctant to let Gong Ruini learn, mainly fearing the stove would injure her. But after watching and seeing her daughter unscathed and competent in her tasks, Cai ina finally relented.

For now, it was just making so wheat-based foods. As for Gong Ruini’s requests to fry a few dishes, Cai ina would absolutely not agree. Besides worrying her daughter might pour too much oil, she was also concerned that the hot pan might burn her daughter.

Because of this, Gong Ruini was at a loss. Although there wasn’t a lack of food and her belly was always full, the dishes were very bland. Especially after seeing the oil her mother used, Gong Ruini really wanted to say, "We don’t have any chubby people at ho, so there’s no need to consider serving family mbers vegetable dishes without oil."

Gong Ruini didn’t want to be a dowdy woman, but to get tasty food, she wanted to try and persuade her father to plant more soybeans and rapeseed.
