"Thank you, everyone."

"Thank you all for your help."

Zhao Gang and Gong Tao stood at the door, continuously saying goodbye to the villagers.

The villagers, each with a satisfied and well-fed belly, headed out, saying, "Thank you, Xiao Zhao, for the hospitality."

"Thank you, Brother Zhao."

The villagers felt genuinely happy today, having enjoyed an incredibly sumptuous al. It wasn’t just that there was plenty of at and fish, the key was that the taste was amazing.

The housewives were all delighted; today, not only did they eat a rich al, but they also learned quite a few cooking secrets.

More importantly, these recipes weren’t complicated to prepare, and the ingredients were easily obtainable.

Being a housewife, if you can use the simplest and most ordinary ingredients to make als that your family loves, that’s the most satisfying thing for a housewife.

Cai ina looked at the house and dining table, now all clean and tidy, with the leftovers neatly put away.

She was greatly relieved, thinking she would have to work all day to get everything in order.

"Don’t worry when you host here, they’ll co and help. Just handle the ingredients, and wait to cook," Zhan Jing reassured Cai ina as she took in the spotless yard.

"In the future, when soone in the village hosts, we just go and help. Actually, opportunities like this aren’t many," said Zhan Jing, who hadn’t attended many such gatherings over the years.

"They actually co to help as a way of repaying, otherwise they wouldn’t invite us to als. In the past, every family would slaughter a pig at year’s end and invite everyone to a al, but now pigs are sold to the supply and marketing cooperative, and there’s no inviting guests," Zhan Jing reminisced, craving those slaughter als.

"Though the presentation wasn’t great, the taste was sothing else," Zhan Jing reminisced, "By the end of the year, we’ll be able to eat it."

Zhao Gang yawned, "Let’s rest for a bit; there’s more to do later."

If it hadn’t been for the family hosting today, as the head of the household, he would have to entertain the guests properly, lest soone notice sothing amiss.

The guests were handled well, but one couldn’t tell how many treasures were on the other side, or if they could manage to bring them up.

Since Gong Tao ca up yesterday, he hadn’t had a good rest. Whenever he closed his eyes, he thought about the scenes he saw in the tunnel, imagining them gleaming with gold.

Gong Ruini yawned, "Mom, I’m tired, I’m going to sleep." Gong Ruini felt strange, recently becoming easily fatigued.

She hadn’t done anything special, yet she was so tired. More importantly, Gong Ruini often dread she was in a place with farmland, completely barren, with withered branches covering the ground.

There was also a well. Gong Ruini wanted to reach it, but no matter how she walked, she couldn’t get close, which baffled her.

Every day she tried to reach the well, but no matter how she walked, the distance remained the sa, with no progress at all.

Gong Ruini hadn’t thought of giving up, but upon entering the unknown place, her body involuntarily wanted to walk toward the well, leaving her helpless.

"Go ahead," said Cai ina, patting Gong Ruini’s head. Feeling no fever, she let her go inside to sleep.

Gong Tao was caught up in excitent these past days and didn’t notice his daughter acting off. Seeing Cai ina’s worried expression now, he asked, "What’s wrong?"

Cai ina was unsure herself, "Since yesterday, Ni Zi has been unusually tired."

"I wonder if there’s sothing unclean in the cave," Cai ina said cautiously.

Sothing unclean? "How could there be such a thing?" Gong Tao lightly dismissed the thought, "Probably because Ni Zi was startled when she fell into the cave yesterday."

"You see, Guang Ran hasn’t been feeling well these days either," Gong Tao noted, noticing Zhao Guangran’s weary face.

"Mom, I’m fine," Gong Ruini said. Before sleeping, she decided to remove the Jade Pendant, hoping to get a good night’s rest without it.

It’s said that the Jade Pendant chooses its owner, and even Zhao Gang had ntioned it was the Jade Pendant that ca to Gong Ruini on its own. At that mont, Gong Ruini carried a bit of regret.

If she’d known it would be like this, even if told she’d regret missing out on the Jade Pendant, she wouldn’t have wanted it.

No matter how good an item is, it’s not as important as a good sleep.

Gong Ruini carefully placed the Jade Pendant in her treasure box before lying down on her pillow to sleep.

Before sleeping, Gong Ruini didn’t forget to say a little prayer, hoping for a good rest.

Perhaps her prayers worked, as Gong Ruini felt she had a nice nap, without any dreams.

"Awake?" Cai ina was leaning against the box, weaving sothing with a rope. She watched as Gong Ruini rubbed her eyes, getting out from under the covers.

Though her daughter was a bit groggy, her overall state was much better than the previous day, "How was your sleep?"

"Great, no dreams." Haha, not having dreams was wonderful, no more constant activity. Gong Ruini found she preferred not to move.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Even though Gong Ruini slept well this ti, the bed was so comfortable she didn’t want to get up.

Seeing her daughter’s bright smile and rosy cheeks, Cai ina also relaxed a bit, "As long as you slept well. I’m weaving a sh bag so we can bring so things up."

"Ni Zi, you saw those things yesterday, right?" Cai ina never imagined when Gong Ruini accidentally fell into the tunnel yesterday; she would find such good things inside.

Compared to Gong Tao’s excitent, Cai ina wasn’t so thrilled. Sotis, unexpected windfalls might not be a good thing, especially if there were really gold tables and chairs. That would be too eye-catching.

Gong Ruini nodded, "Mom, don’t worry, Dad won’t be that foolish."

Her dad might have been a bit naively filial before, but after being here so long, he never ntioned the Gong Family, possibly because they never wrote to bother them either.

Gong Ruini believed Gong Tao wasn’t stupid; he’d certainly know what to share and what to keep to himself.

"You worry too much." A little girl, considering such matters, Cai ina smiled as she ruffled her hair, signaling Gong Ruini not to overthink.

Worry too much? Gong Ruini didn’t have ti to worry that much; the Gong Family was a future matter.

Currently, Gong Ruini had more pressing issues to focus on and solve.
