Now reading: Chapter 50 - 49: Naughty Kid, Old Fox from Back to the 70s: My Childhood Sweetheart Spoils Me Rotten, a Romance novel by yzmb.

A gentle sip of porridge enters the mouth, and you can feel the rice has blossod like a flower. This porridge is definitely well-cooked.

And the taste is quite nice, though not extraordinarily good, considering it was made by a five-year-old child.

The most remarkable thing is that this child, until now, has only watched adults cook and has never done it herself.

Gong Tao just drank his daughter’s love soup and now eats the love porridge she made. He almost wants to embrace his daughter, letting her know that no matter how much others disapprove of her for being a girl, he, as her father, still loves her the most.

Zhao Gang quickly finished his porridge and wanted to get more, only to find that there wasn’t much left. More importantly, although his wife had so remaining, she was eyeing the leftover as well.

As a good man, how could he possibly snatch food from the woman who will bear his children? That would be unmanly!

"Ni Zi, be my daughter-in-law in the future," said Zhao Gang. Such a good girl; Zhao Gang couldn’t bear to let a stranger take her away.

At first, Zhao Gang might have blurted it out, but the more he thought about it, the more he felt it was a brilliant idea.

Zhao Gang didn’t think Gong Tao would oppose it. Their families were close, and they weren’t like malicious in-laws. It was better than Gong Ruini marrying soone whose background they knew nothing about.

Zhao Gang thought his idea was perfect, but he completely forgot about the prideful mindset of a father.

Gong Tao quickly hugged Gong Ruini, casting a cautious look at Zhao Gang, "Did you see too much gold today that it made you dizzy?"

Why would Gong Tao oppose? Zhao Gang was utterly confused.

Could it be that his friend disliked the idea of them staying in the countryside, not wanting Ni Zi to marry a farr?

This distressed Zhao Gang greatly.

Oh no, his friend got upset. Seeing the smile fade from his friend’s face, Gong Tao knew Zhao Gang had misunderstood.

"I won’t let my Ni Zi be engaged so early."

"I want my Ni Zi to marry the person she wishes to marry, and she must be happy."

Gong Tao didn’t care about the family background but valued ambition and kindness towards Ni Zi.

From the perspective of the elders, Zhao Xuran was quite good, polite, disciplined, and if given a little opportunity, he would definitely soar high.

But is such a child truly suitable for Ni Zi?

Since Zhao Xuran is an eagle destined to fly in the sky, he wouldn’t be able to care for the family. As the eldest son, he would have to take care of his parents and younger brothers.

Considering Zhan Jing is about to give birth to twin sons, the Zhao family would have at least four sons, aning three younger brothers. If they all turned out like Zhao Guangran, what would happen then?

His daughter’s health wasn’t too strong; how could she bear such a heavy burden?

If possible, Gong Tao hoped his daughter could marry a man who wasn’t the eldest son, without troubleso and biased in-laws.

Gong Ruini initially thought Zhao Gang was joking and even thought of jokingly asking if it was an incident of booking a daughter-in-law because of a bowl of porridge.

But with Gong Tao’s involvent, Gong Ruini realized Zhao Gang wasn’t joking.

This scared Gong Ruini, as Zhao Guangran was a brat, and Zhao Xuran was a little fox destined to beco an old one.

Dealing with this future old fox for a long ti, oh gosh, Gong Ruini felt dizzy at the thought.

But Zhao Xuran was truly not bad, and Gong Ruini was really worried her father might casually agree to this arrangent.

Even if this deal might beco void in the future, what if Zhao Guangran, that brat, brought it up again soday?

Gong Ruini couldn’t imagine how neither the other half of Zhao Xuran nor her future partner would be thrilled.

Thankfully, at a crucial mont, her father proved to be reliable once again. No wonder he always said he liked his daughter the most; this was backed by solid facts.

No way, Zhao Guangran was shocked, never expecting his own father to sell him out like this.

Having Gong Ruini as his current sister was already uncomfortable enough for Zhao Guangran. Yet his own dad seed perfectly happy, thinking of ways to sell him out. Oh heavens, how could he have such a father?

However, Uncle Gong dared to oppose, making Zhao Guangran feel rather uncomfortable again.

It’s the sa opposition, but who’s doing the opposing matters. Zhao Guangran slapped his hands on the table, standing up with authority, "I don’t want to marry Ni Zi as my wife."

"I want a wife who listens to , pampers , and plays with ," Zhao Guangran entirely laid bare his expectations and demands for a future partner.

Oh wow, if she hadn’t minded the brat dislike her yet, he dared to first show dislike. Apparently, living comfortably, he didn’t understand human words.

"I don’t want to marry you, you’re no good." Gong Ruini also stood up fiercely.

Though Gong Ruini was much shorter than Zhao Guangran, she showed she wouldn’t lose montum or spirit at such a pivotal mont.

"I won’t marry you," Zhao Guangran lifted his toes to stand taller as soon as he heard Gong Ruini’s disdainful words, determined to overpower this girl.

Compete with height, huh, well, I can’t beat you in height, but as a brainless one, I can use my voice!

Gong Ruini raised her voice, "Gong Ruini would never marry this brat Zhao Guangran."

"Gong Ruini doesn’t like this brat, Zhao Guangran."

Ha ha ha, Gong Ruini let out the highest pitch of her life up to this stage.

Zhao Guangran panicked, wanting to match that high pitch, but his voice was hoarse due to stress from falling into a hole yesterday.

Without a few days of recovery, it won’t be normal. The crucial mont where his voice failed him made Zhao Guangran very angry, but despite his anger, he couldn’t let his tears fall.

At first, everyone was shocked by Zhao Guangran’s disdainful words about Gong Ruini, especially Zhao Gang intended to teach a lesson to his unhelpful and troubleso youngest son.

However, before he could take action, Gong Ruini stepped up, leaving no room for Zhao Gang to educate Zhao Guangran.

But as the two kids began shouting that the other was the brat, no one could hold back their laughter.

The scene was just too codic, wasn’t it?

The youngest kids present continuously called each other brats, but did they realize their own age?

Due to the mutual provocation of the adults from both Zhao and Gong families, they rely watched the two kids argue with no intention of intervening.

Zhao Xuran was visibly displeased; he wanted to stop such childish actions, but since none of the adults intervened, as a junior, how could Zhao Xuran do so?

Gong Ruwen worriedly watched his sister shout at Zhao Guangran with all her might, concerned that her voice might be hoarse the next day.

Yet, as none of the surrounding adults, including Brother Xu Ran, spoke up, Gong Ruwen wanted to call it off but had to remain quietly seated on the side.
