They sat at the tables eating, or lined up for food, and grouped together playfully, especially the boys’ laughter was particularly noticeable.

Gu Jin observed these playful young boys and girls, most of them were newcors.

The seniors in school uniforms were easy to distinguish from the freshn.

They orderly got their food without pushing or shoving, and when they ate at the cafeteria tables, they were slow and composed, even when talking, there was no loud noise or clamor.

They looked at the freshn with friendly eyes, just like looking at... themselves in the past, with tolerance in their eyes.

"Wow! So fragrant!"

Ma Qiaolan, drawn by the enticing aroma of cafeteria food, couldn’t wait to pick up the tray set on the table at the door and rushed toward the long line.

Seeing her hastiness, Gu Jin, Feng Hui, and Hu Yue also picked up their trays and headed to the line.

The four lined up for a long ti before finally getting their food.

Ma Qiaolan got a portion of braised pork with potatoes, two big buns, and a bowl of egg soup.

Feng Hui chose stir-fried yam with mushrooms, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, a mushroom soup, and a bowl of rice.

Hu Yue’s choice was the simplest, stir-fried greens and a bun.

Gu Jin’s was even simpler, she only got a bowl of dough-drop soup.

Honestly, the cafeteria food wasn’t bad, but Gu Jin didn’t have much of an appetite.

The four of them carried their als, found an empty spot in the corner, and sat down, placing their food on the table.

Ma Qiaolan found that Gu Jin only had a bowl of dough-drop soup, and widened her eyes, "Can you fill your stomach with just a bowl of dough-drop soup?"

This was the ti when girls were growing, though their appetite wasn’t as exaggerated as boys, they could still eat quite a bit.

The cafeteria bowls were only slightly bigger than a fist, the food portion was very small.

She looked at Gu Jin’s clothes and distinctive presence, she didn’t seem like soone who would skimp on als.

Then she looked at Hu Yue beside her, whether in deanor or dress, clearly more down-to-earth, and Hu Yue at least got a dish.

Hu Yue seed to be the one in the group whose family circumstances weren’t great, she was sowhat self-conscious, timid, with a lingering modesty from within.

It’s not that Ma Qiaolan looked down on others, but her family ran a store, she was used to seeing all kinds of people, and had a keen understanding.

Listening to her exclamation, Gu Jin picked up her spoon, stirred her bowl of dough-drop soup, and smiled lightly, "Just not very hungry, ca to get familiar with the cafeteria with you all."

Ma Qiaolan glanced at Gu Jin, realizing that even though Gu Jin wore loose clothes, it couldn’t hide her beautiful figure, and a trace of envy flashed in her eyes.

Then she angrily bit into a bun, muttering, "Just envy you people who have the willpower to keep a good figure and know how to control portions."

Gu Jin didn’t explain when misunderstood, she simply smiled and remained silent.

Sitting beside Gu Jin, Hu Yue looked at her own dish and bun, then at the bowl of dough-drop soup in front of Gu Jin and secretly sighed with relief.

Fortunately, she wasn’t the worst among the three... the one with the worst.

She feared the three would ask about her family background and might exclude her.

Hu Yue wasn’t naive, the three roommates each had their distinct character, evidently from affluent backgrounds, unlike her impoverished origin, even attending the listed Number One High School had so unspeakable circumstances.

A cold face of a man flashed in her mind, Hu Yue pursed her lips tightly.
