’ Yes, yes I know, now shut up.’ Complained Ved. " Shut up? You’re telling to shut up. You forgot ." ’ I know.’ " You forgot ."
The vessel spirit kept complaining about being forgotten. Ved was getting fed up. He flapped his wings and took to the skies.
’ So, are you going to tell what vital and soul essence are?’ he had been asking the sa question for a while now but the vessel spirit still refused to answer and as expected.
" Why would I tell an inconsiderate ungrateful brat like you anything?" Ved sighed. ’ just let it go you old tal scrap or I’ll leave you again.’
The vessel spirit grumbled. " You even dare to threaten yet you expect to help you? You really have no manners, which is what I would expect from a lowly beast."
Ved grabbed the spear from his back and dropped it without another word. The vessel spirit shouted and cursed as it dropped from 16 kilotres in the air.
Then Ved folded his wings and dived down to grab it. " Fine fine, you evil creature I will tell you."
It mumbled sothing under it breath that Ved didn’t hear then started. He listened attentively, this information involved his new ability, he didn’t want to miss anything.
" You are already aware of world essence right? While world essence is the energy of the world that all awakened living organisms or spirit treasures absorb, vital and soul essence is different.
Vital essence is the energy of the body. It what determines the strength of the body. Soul essence is the sa but for the soul."
Then it got quiet. ’ is that it?’ Ved asked.It grumbled " what more do you want?" Ved scoffed. ’ That can’t be all the information you have, you’re not holding back on are you?.’ He threatened to drop it.
The vessel spirit clicked it tongue. " Fine, but I don’t see how this is important. Firstly, every living organism with a body has vital essence of so kind.
In living organisms with blood, vital essence is found in the heart, it circulate through the entire body but it source is the heart. Things like trees or slis have their own forms of it. Infact trees have the strongest vital essence of any living creature.
Soul essence is found in anything with a soul, it’s the energy that constantly strengthen the soul which in turn strengthen the will and ntal strength.
Secondly, unlike world essence which can be used freely, vital and soul essence cannot be used at all. They can only grow more as you get stronger.
Atleast in normal cases but I did hear legends of techniques able to utilise vital and soul essence. The only issue with that, is that those two energies cannot be regenerated normally.
You would need very rare treasures to replenish them. Another problem is that, they also determine your lifespan so if you use them you are essentially using your own body and or soul’s lifespan.
Unless you can find those rare treasures you would’ve permanently reduced your own lifespan which is not ideal for most people.
So even if those techniques existed, they would only ever be used as the last resort. That’s all the information I can give."
Ved was quiet, if that is true then his new ability was going to be problematic. If he had to find rare treasures to replenish his vital or soul essence everyti he uses it, then he might as well not use the ability at all.
Ved put that at the back of his mind for now, it was ti to test his new strength. The first thing he wanted to try out was his web.
He could feel it was very different from before. So he flapped his wings and flew west, he was trying to find an island.
It did not take long before he found an island with weak beasts and normal animals living on it.
He landed on the island and the ground shook. His body was very heavy, he couldn’t even estimate his own weight but he believed he weighed more than a thousand tons, he couldn’t be sure.
He laid down on his stomach and opened his palm. Web fluid ca out of his palm and turned into strings then dissolved back into fluid.
This was no different from his previous web but he could tell there’s another way to use his web fluid and so he created a ball of it above his palm.
Instead of turning into the fabric like soft web it solidified, becoming hard as steel. Ved grinned, this was similar to how wax worked but the product was much stronger.
He swung his arm and threw the hard web/ wax ball, the air exploded and the ball shot out like a streak of white light, then hit the ocean like a bomb a few kilotres away.
But he was not done, he created all forms of objects with this wax, from shields to swords, spears and even guns, ofcourse the guns were just him being playful, they were not very useful.
The best part about this is that he could control all of these construct with his telekinesis.
Now considering his soul sense could stretch for over 18 kilotres, he could control them to a really wide range which was great.
He didn’t bother to test his poison, he knew it hadn’t changed at all, it had only grown stronger.
Besides, he would need to test it on a living organism and he wasn’t in the mood to search for a beast strong enough for that.
While he was lying there thinking about his new strength, he heard sothing at the edge of the island, it sounded like a bomb explosion.
He spread his soul sense to cover the whole island. There he saw a fist sized beetle facing a jackal the size of a cow but the jackal was the one running away with burnt wounds on it body.
The beetle was shooting exploding chemical bombs at it. Ved recognised this type of beetle, even though it chemical bombs were much stronger.
He was certain of it, this was a bombardier beetle. He grinned,’ perfect’
