Now reading: Chapter 133: King’s Judgement from Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven, a Fantasy novel by Masheen.

Ved sniffed the air and caught multiple scents but they were faint, whoever did this tried their best to hide their trail but how could such a crude thod deceive ved?

He shot to sky and flew in the direction the scent led him. He used his stealth trait to hide himself in the air, in a few minutes he saw them.

A group or perhaps an entire army of humans. There were over 130 of them, 7 of which were rank 2, 5 n and two won . " Finish up, we need to go before he finds us." Spoke one of the rank 2 n

Ved recognised the man who spoke. The mont he saw this man he felt his blood boil with rage but beneath the rage was guilt. " Don’t worry, nobody is coming, stop being paranoid. Besides, even if sobody does co so what? What are they gonna do against all of us.?" Retorted another.

Ved listened to them then he saw her, Fern the fox. She was bound by chains and trapped in a cage, the humans were surrounding her, eating and laughing without a worry in the world as if they hadn’t just commited murder against his own.

Ved stood in the air and watched them, the more he watched the less angry he felt. His rage was replaced by sothing else, a deep coldness like the most ancient glacier.

When he first saw them he wanted to kill them all, he wanted their blood to flow like rivers, to paint the lands red and their screams to fill the sky.

But not anymore, now he wanted to instill fear into them, he wanted them to die slowly and excruciatingly but Ved was not a murderous maniac.

He wouldn’t kill soone for ignorance, if they hunted spiritual beasts because they thought they were the sa as demonic beasts then their punishnts mighty be lighter.

However if they knew, if they knew spiritual beasts were intelligent lifeforms no different than humans then things would be different, he would make sure they suffer until they die.

He folded his wings and dropped like a cannon. He crashed on the ground startling the humans but before any of them could react his aura blasted out.

They all stopped, unable to move even a single muscle. Their eyes were filled with fear and despair.

Ved didn’t bother talking to them, his will spread out and gently seeped through their skulls.

They obviously felt it because their bodies started vibrating uncontrollably and muffled voices which he took was their attempts at screaming filled forest.

Then their eyes went blank and one by one they started confessing. This was only possible because his will was ridiculously higher than theirs.

Their confessions made Ved even colder, this entire team of over a hundred people focused solely on hunting exotic spiritual beasts.

Simply because so rich people with sick taste took pleasure in torturing what they called animals with human intelligence.

And nine tailed foxes were especially sought after, mostly due to their rarity and their ability to speak and transform.

To them it was more pleasurable if the beast could beg for their lives. The more Ved listened the colder he got, he was furious, not just at these hunters but the slavers as well.

What angered him the most was that they justified their actions by claiming they were removing the enemies of humanity thus painting themselves as heroes.

He wanted those sick bastards to pay, he wanted to send a ssage but he knew it would be hard since this was within Vermillion’s territory.

If he intervened it would send the wrong ssage instead, if Vermillion pushed Ved back or outright defeated him, it would give the humans more confidence.

No, what he wanted was to drive fear into their hearts, he wanted them to wonder if he’s watching or not, to think twice before ssing with his people.

After he searched all of their mories and determined they were all guilty he released an invisible poison. It was the dream mist forrly known as the anaesthesia poison.

It improved after he beca rank 4, beca harder to detect and worked faster but most of all, it ability to induce sleep and dreams beca significantly stronger.

Now Ved can use to conjure illusions and dreams even when the victim is still awake. If they are much weaker than Ved he can even use those dreams to control them.

That what’s he was going to do here but he wasn’t done. He wanted to try sothing, sothing that would make his actions more mysterious and uncanny.

He infused the dream mist with his stealth film, the film broke down imdiately and beca intangible, he didn’t know it could do that but he was glad it could.

It rged with the invisible dream mist poison becoming invisible as well, it purpose was to make the dream mist completely undetectable.

The mist spread out and entered through the human’s noses and reached their brains then he drew back his will and they ca back to their senses.

None of them rembered anything. They saw him and scread, the sword man who had seen him before started shaking with fear.

" OH MIGH..." ’ ENOUGH’ Ved cut him off, the man tried to speak but his voice did not co out, all of them did not move a muscle, terrified he would end then instantly if they did.

They could sense his aura since he wasn’t hiding it. Ved looked around, he did not see the bow woman and a few other people from the previous team.

Including the man who bowed to him, Ved figured they weren’t exactly buddies with this guy, fortunately for them.

Then he started speaking, his voice booming in their minds. ’ You have conjured fantasies to justify your cruelty, sweet dreams where you are the heroes, so you would not have to face the twisted reflections of your true selves.

If you love dreaming so much then so be it, I will grant you dreams of my own. I will point to you mirrors of your souls, you will feel all they felt and in their pain and despair, you will see your true selves.

Now go, you will be my ssengers and my warning to humanity, that is my judgent upon you as the king of all beasts.’ Their bodies started moving on their own.

They tried to beg and plea but he ignored them. This was one of the abilities of the dream mist, he can use it to control those much weaker than him like a parasite once it effect their brains.

To them, it was like watching their lives through a screen, except they could feel, see and hear everything but they had zero control over their brains or bodies.

That on itself was torture but what’s to co will make them pray for death. A storm was about to hit humanity and they will be reminded this world nolonger belonged solely to them.
