Ved saw a beautiful woman with long white hair and green snake eyes. The woman smiled at him and bowed.
" Asoris, youngest daughter of Soran the queen of serpents at your service." Ved had no idea who she is or who the queen of serpents was.
" Forgive your highness but unfortunately those old miserable ghosts are still blocking the path to this world."
She looked up, Ved realised there were probably so powerful people above the world.
He now realised how seriously they wanted him dead. " The sovereigns of our race only managed to open a gate wide enough to let through.
So it’s just us for now, but I promise as long as I live, you’re not going to die." Ved nodded.
He had no idea what’s happening but he welcod any help he can get right now. " Your highness, I’m confused, we seem to be outnumbered.
Are there no demonic beasts in this world?" Ved was confused, what do demonic have anything to do with this war?
They’re not mbers of either side. " Quiet girl." Volstone grumbled. Asoris turned to look at him then frowned.
" You, I know you, what is an old ghost like you doing here, this is breaking so many rules of war."
Volstone smiled gently like an old man educating a child. " We do care for your rules, there is only one rule in war, there are no rules."
Asoris imdiately took her true form turning into a massive white snake. " Your highness, we’ll face this old man together."
Ved shook his head. " Thank but I’ll be fine, you assist the others." She looked at him. " But.." he turned to look at her with pleading eyes.
She nodded, before she could move her body was cut in half by an invisible attack. Ved panicked thinking she was killed.
Then the snake body turned into smoke and disappeared. She appeared a few hundred tres away.
Around her floated a white ball of smoke. Volstone frowned. " Law fruit, why do you have that?"
He asked her. " Oh this, my mother gave it to for safety, I wasn’t planning to use it for the sake of fairness in war but with you here, I have no reason not to."
Volstone attacked her again, the ball of laws sent a tiny stream of smoke and his invisible attacks crumbled in the air.
Ved was surprised by this and he felt excited. " Your highness, are you certain you don’t want to deal with him?"
She asked with concern, Ved wanted to agree then he looked around the battlefield and realised how dire the situation was.
He shook his head, she would have more impact on the overall battlefield rather than wasting that much power facing this old man.
However he didn’t intend to send her away for long. " Help the others first then co help ."
She nodded, her body multiplied and dozens of snakes like her appeared in the air. They split up and attacked multiple opponents.
Not one of them managed to last a single attack against her considering she had a literal ball of laws.
The soldiers had a brief mont of respite with her around. Ved turned to face Volstone, " So, shall we continue?"
He asked and took a fighting stance. ’ Martial arts huh? I didn’t know it could go this far, it’s exciting.’
He kicked off the air to lunge at Volstone but he had barely taken a step when his left side exploded like a balloon.
His left heart and lung turned into moosh, yet he didn’t stop. His image healed him and strengthened him.
The golden light around him shone like a sun, he was drawing close the limit of what his soul can handle.
Further physical enhancent would place a much heavier burden on his soul. He appeared right above Volstone and attacked.
His punch shook the sky but when he t Volstone he felt as if he just punched an entire planet.
The old man didn’t even budge but Ved’s fist shattered and his arm broke. Life drops fell on him healing his body.
He was hacked into two pieces and those pieces into more pieces yet his tree kept healing him.
It was to the point even Volstone was confused, he couldn’t understand how such an image ability ca to be.
The more he looked at those green liquid drops the more shaken he beca, the sa went for Asoris.
As a daughter of a sovereign, she was more knowledgeable than anybody on earth. What she just saw an image create was impossible.
Life essence, life essence was different from essence energy, it was a true essence, a source of life rumoured to be able to even bring back the dead, turn a barren world into a life world.
The only thing ever know to produce true life essence was Yggdrasil, not the tree of elves but that one could also produce a single drop every 1000 years.
True Yggdrasil was believed to precede the dawn of all creation, it held the mortal realm and all of it countless universes in it branches.
It roots connected to the deepest depth of hell and the tallest peaks of the celestial realm, it was believed to be the ho of the Origin of creation, a being as old as the void itself.
However that was just a bed ti story told to her by her mother. Not to ntion what she had just seen his image create was rely a diluted version of life essence.
Yet it was enough to shake both her and Volstone who seed to have grown more feral.
The more he attacked Ved the stronger his body got. Ved spun and stabbed his spear, the green and blue energy lines exploded with energy.
When if hit Volstone the spear shattered causing an explosion of energy yet Volstone appeared without a scratch.
" I told you, your resistance is futile." Ved didn’t bother replying and attacked. His arm suddenly flew through the air.
He used his strings to bring it back to him. Then spun and swung his tail but it was cut off as well.
No matter what he tried, nothing could get past Volstone and Ved was approaching his limit.
Very soon he will reach the peak of how much his image can enhance his strength. However as he was fighting he started moving more fluidly.
He realised, his image was correcting his moves to better his martial arts. To be more specific, he was subconsciously doing it as the image was his and a part of him.
Images appeared in his head, he followed them perfectly, he started using less stamina with each movent and his moves grew smoother.
Suddenly he spun creating massive winds then punched. A massive black fist appeared and flew at Volstone.
Ved stopped for a mont. ’ Martial Intent?’
