He knew his intimidation tactic was not effective. Which ant this thing was desperate enough to risk suffering an injury.
It reached him in a blink of an eye. He dodged to the side but then one of it antennas hit him in the face.
It was too fast, all he saw was a red flaming blur and the next thing he knew he was sailing through the sea like a thrown spear with a burning cheek.
Then hundreds of fist sized ball of fire flew at him. They sizzled as they cut through the water.
By the ti they reached him they were much smaller but still packed enough firepower to make him worry.
He twisted his body and did backflips to dodge them but unfortunately there were too many.
A few landed on his body, his soul force took most of the brunt and by the ti they reached his scales they barely had a fraction of their power.
But that fraction was still enough to send his body reeling with a burning pain on his stomach and ribs.
It lunged at him, he opened his mouth and fired a bolt of lightning to slow it down and it worked.
It was wary of the lightning bolt and tried to dodge but it body was too large. It couldn’t move all of it out of the way in ti.
The lightning bolt hit the lava tapede’s mid section causing it to screech in pain. It rage filled eyes glared at him and it shot a jet of fire at him which he dodged easily.
His body suddenly blurred and appeared right next to it, it did not react fast enough as if it did not expect him to take the initiative.
He stabbed his claw to it back aiming for a joint section. Unfortunately it twisted it body just a little but enough to make him miss the mark.
While his claw still landed on it back it missed the joint section. The sound of clashing tal echoed across the sea and his claw bounced back.
He rode the shockwave back which allowed him to dodge it stinger. It gigantic body twisted like a rope and lunged at him again.
He released a dense cloud of poison infront of him but when the lava tapede reached the cloud, the poison burnt away and disappeared in a mont.
This made Ved distraught, his poison was his trump card. The issue here was that the poison burnt away simply for being close to the lava tapede.
The lava tapede did not take any active action to burn the poison. That ant even if he used his poison discreetly it still wouldn’t work.
He couldn’t rely on his web either, it was too weak and ineffective against this thing. That ant other than his body he only had lightning as a weapon.
But the lava tapede was wary of his lightning now and it won’t be as easy to use it against the lava tapede.
He dived under it to dodge it charge and made sure to avoid being kicked by it sharp pointy feet.
Then fired a bolt of lightning straight to the open wound. He missed by a few centitres and hit next to the wound but it did not matter.
The lightning scattered and so reached the wound itself. The lava tapede roared in agony but it still did not look like it wanted to give up on him.
Ved ran and it chased after him. It speed seed to be effected by the wound on it side and the lightning still coursing through it system.
But even so, it was still much faster than him. In only a few monts it had already caught up to him.
It mandibles were only a few monts away from biting off his tail then he did a backflip. It passed right below him and just as he was about to shoot another bolt of lightning at it, the shell of it back roared.
From it holes ca jets of flas that covered the surrounding in red blackish flas. Water boiled and evaporated, for a mont Ved found himself floating mid air.
This caught him off guard which gave it the chance to attack. It stinger ca flying at him like a spear.
He couldn’t dodge mid air, especially not sothing moving at that speed so he did the only thing he could.
He created a coating of the gel poison and layer after layer of web cocoon. Without water weakening it the web was very strong but even so.
The stinger pierced through it like it was a piece of paper. The protection it gave still provided him enough ti to move out of the way but then the stinger swung to the side like a whip.
It hit his ribs and his body broke through the web cacoon and was sent flying straight to the approaching flood of water rushing in to fill the gap.
He threw up blood and collided with the wave. It felt like he hit a wall of rocks and broke through it.
He looked at his side and a few scales were missing. His flesh was exposed and blood was flowing out like an endless stream and dyed the sea red.
Fortunately, salt water nolonger made his wounds hurt as much as it did the first ti, or maybe he had just gotten used to that pain, he wasn’t sure.
He turned his attention back to the lava tapede and what he saw chilled him but also made his blood boil with rage.
The lava tapede opened it gigantic mouth and swallowed his floating scales. He could see the glee in it eyes. ’ Enjoying yourself? you piece of rubbish.’
Ved couldn’t rember being this angry before. To eat a part of him while he was watching was the greatest disrespect, no matter how small that part was.
The rage woke sothing primal inside him, pride. His bloodline responded and the anger to his damaged pride overca his desire for safety.
He didn’t wait for it to attack and lunged at it himself. Ved was too angry to even realise he was moving faster than before.
He reached the lava tapede and slashed it face with his claws. The slap send it body flying to the ocean floor like a cot.
It stood up and glared at him. He glared back without fear. He spoke to it using will transmission, his voice was cold and filled with pride.
’ How dare a re insect disrespect this noble one.’ The vessel spirit’s surprised voice echoed across the sea. " Dragon Pride? But how?"
