Peggy Carter looked at the lover she had missed for seventy years, lanting the capriciousness of fate. They were destined yet apart.
"Have you been well these seventy years?"
Captain Arica sat by the bed, held Carter’s hand, and asked softly.
"So-so. I’ve at least given my youth to this country. It just seems that S.H.I.E.L.D. is having so problems now."
Peggy Carter wasn’t completely in the dark; she still had so ans to obtain intelligence from S.H.I.E.L.D.
"Can you tell more about S.H.I.E.L.D.? It feels familiar yet strange to , and certain operational thods give a very uneasy feeling."
Regardless of what S.H.I.E.L.D. had beco, as one of its founders, Carter certainly knew more about it.
"Steve, are you trying to say that S.H.I.E.L.D.’s way of doing things is sowhat like HYDRA?"
Peggy Carter understood instantly what Captain Arica was trying to convey.
"Exactly, it makes very uneasy. So people have approached with the intent of recruiting to join certain factions, giving a very bad feeling."
Captain Arica nodded, sharing everything he had seen and heard since waking up, pouring it all out to Peggy Carter.
anwhile, Peggy Carter explained a few things to him and told him about the origins of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as the Project Paperclip.
"So, Ms. Carter, are you willing to stand with again in battle?"
Their conversation brought many issues to light, making them realize the trendous upheaval within S.H.I.E.L.D.
By this ti, Captain Arica had lost trust in S.H.I.E.L.D. He had basically confird that those approaching him were undercover infiltrators from other forces!
There was even a great possibility that they were the resurrected HYDRA!
Thus, Captain Arica looked solemnly at Peggy Carter, the only one he could fully trust as a lover and warrior, and spoke seriously.
"Did Nick Fury give you the Life Span Potion?"
Peggy Carter’s face carried a faint smile as she asked softly.
"I heard he got it through a deal with soone nad Mo Qingchen. Not only the Life Span Potion but also a version of the Super Soldier Serum with reduced side effects and weakened effect. When he acquired them, he left a copy for imdiately."
As for the current Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury, Captain Arica had a slightly complex feeling.
There was so trust, but not complete trust; it was a soldier’s sixth sense.
This sense appeared very suddenly, especially when facing Nick Fury, sotis on and off. That was one reason why Captain Arica tried not to interact with him.
The reason for this situation, of course, was a pit that Nick Fury dug for himself.
He worked with aliens, occasionally having them impersonate him to hold the fort in S.H.I.E.L.D.
For a seasoned battlefield veteran like Captain Arica, a reinforced Super Soldier, his detection skills were incredibly acute.
Even a slight off vibe could trigger his vigilance.
"Looks like Little Nick had his eye on for a long ti."
Peggy Carter had long since retired. Most of her old friends in life had passed away.
Now there were few she held dear: her young niece, Tony Stark, and Steve Rogers.

Peggy Carter smiled faintly, watching as Steve took out two syringes and injected them into her arm.
As the liquid flowed into her veins, a cool and warm sensation spread throughout her body.
The once withered vitality was reactivated at that mont, and the cells, which had grown old, began to rejuvenate under the potion’s stimulation.
"It’s a pretty good feeling. My body has regained vitality and power."
The originally aged visage began to slowly rejuvenate under the restoration of the Life Span Potion.
If she looked in her nineties before, now she appeared only in her sixties.
This wasn’t enough; as the weakened version of the Super Soldier Serum took effect, further changes occurred in Peggy Carter’s body.
The once desiccated body gradually regained fullness and seductive curves, and even the old skin tightened, with even her graying hair gradually returning to a golden hue under the Super Soldier Serum’s alteration.
Her appearance had changed from over sixty to looking in her forties.
Though she still appeared sowhat mature, it looked far more pleasing than the elderly appearance.
At least, Captain Arica found the now thoroughly ripened Peggy Carter to be sowhat enthralling.
Just then, a video call from Nick Fury was projected directly in front of Captain Arica.
"Steve, you really managed to persuade Ms. Peggy Carter. I now formally invite you and Ms. Carter to join the Avenger Initiative.
I need your strength to investigate the situation inside S.H.I.E.L.D. and also to tackle so external supernatural forces."
How could the sly Nick Fury allow Captain Arica to run amok?
Even before Captain Arica had awakened, Fury had secretly arranged for a tracker to be installed inside him.
And among the various high-tech gadgets provided to Captain Arica, there were naturally so communication tools.
For example, the current video projection equipnt was secretly installed on the watch given to Captain Arica.
"You had people monitoring us?"
"No, Ms. Peggy Carter is one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D. We’ve had people from S.H.I.E.L.D. around her for protection. They just didn’t intervene when you entered her room."
Nick Fury shalessly deceived.
"Also, Captain, you should take a look at these intelligence reports. I need your help to clean out all those issues within S.H.I.E.L.D.!"
So gathered intelligence data was displayed directly via video projection in front of Captain Arica and Carter.
"It seems S.H.I.E.L.D. already had big problems before Little Nick took over, and I have reason to believe that Alexander Pierce is definitely one of those in the know."
Feeling the strength within her, which far exceeded her physical pri, Peggy Carter’s eyes flashed with an extrely cold light.
S.H.I.E.L.D. was her creation, and now with major issues arising within, she had a duty to eliminate these rats!
"Steve, let’s go. Before dealing with those rats, let’s first check out that Titan Giant Beast, the Octopus Brother."
Carter’s expression was solemn, especially after seeing the intelligence on the Titan Giant Beast, particularly the images of the Octopus Brother enjoying a lavish feast.
She wasn’t seeing it for the first ti; she had known about the Emperor Organization decades ago.
What worried her more was whether this Octopus Brother would awaken another dormant Titan Giant Beast!
If the two of them were to pair up, it was uncertain whether they’d fight to the death or join forces and turn the place into a no-man’s land.
She knew that the Emperor Organization back then had several known slumbering spots for Titan Giant Beasts.
Among them, a few were located within Arica’s borders; if they awakened together, it would surely cause imnse disaster for humanity!
