Two and a half months later, within Fang Qingyuan’s Immortal Mansion Space, two ferocious-looking Rock Lizards were tearing at each other on an open patch of Black Land.
These two Rock Lizards were enormous, each the size of a heavy war chariot. The commotion from their brutal struggle caused the Bee Queen, deep in a sweet dream within the Purple Bamboo Forest, to subconsciously shuffle deeper inside.
Fang Qingyuan’s soul stood to the side, coldly watching the life-and-death struggle. The victor would receive a delicious al, while the loser would beco tonight’s delicious al.
A quarter of an hour later, the Rock Lizard with shimring silver-white scales was killed by the other, whose body was suffused with the Spiritual Light of the earth elent. The victorious Rock Lizard imdiately opened its great maw and roared, then attempted to gnaw on the corpse of its opponent on the ground. However, Fang Qingyuan struck out with a Soul Daoist Technique, hitting the Rock Lizard hard on the head and bringing it to heel.
After Fang Qingyuan had carved off the choicest parts from the dead Rock Lizard, he tossed the remaining carcass to the victor. Then, he deactivated the Array and left the Immortal Mansion with his fresh ingredients.
Arriving in the sprawling kitchen, Fang Qingyuan began to prepare the al. The flesh and blood of the dead Rock Lizard were saturated with a dense tal Spiritual Power, which would give it a sowhat spicy flavor when eaten.
In the days he had been waiting for Situ Jingyu’s arrival, Fang Qingyuan had rarely stepped outside his new residence. He had entrusted Wu Mi with purchasing various low-level spirit beasts for him to experint with the sacrificial effects in the Immortal Mansion, improving his culinary skills in the process.
Just as different environnts nurture different life, the Spirit Beasts living around Black Sand City were quite different from those in the Southern Border. As a disciple of the Beast Taming Sect, Fang Qingyuan was naturally interested in studying the local Spirit Beasts. Of course, the main reason was that Fang Qingyuan wanted to find a Spirit Beast that could increase the Five Elents Spiritual Power within his Immortal Mansion.
As for getting to try delicious new flavors, that was just a side benefit. Ever since Fang Qingyuan had raised all his Five Elents Spirit Roots to the high-grade, raising them even a little further required a trendous cost. If he still hoped to brute-force it with massive quantities of Low-Tier Spiritual Materials as he had before, it would take an eternity.
For now, Fang Qingyuan decided to experint with many different types of Spirit Beasts. Perhaps one of them would et his expectations.
Once the spicy Rock Lizard at stew was ready, Jinbao lazily sauntered over. It hadn’t moved much these past few days and had grown increasingly indolent.
Although Fang Qingyuan had reached the stage of Fasting and could go a month without food, he still subconsciously cooked familiar dishes from his past life—partly to satisfy his own cravings, and partly to deepen the bond with his Companion Beast, Jinbao.
Jinbao had to eat every day. As a Spirit Beast, it naturally didn’t share the human notion that eating was a chore. For Jinbao, it was pure enjoynt.
Unfortunately, when Fang Qingyuan was busy, he would just placate it with so stored beast pellets. Now that he finally had so free ti, he naturally wanted to cook sothing good for Jinbao each day to reward it.
Jinbao gnawed on the Rock Lizard at, completely imrsed in the joy of a hearty al. The at was especially to its liking, as it contained traces of tal Spiritual Power.
While Jinbao feasted with gusto, Fang Qingyuan stopped after just a few bites. He raised an eyebrow, sensing through the Triple Array Formation that soone had arrived outside his residence.
It was Situ Jingyu!
Delight instantly appeared on Fang Qingyuan’s face. He opened the Array and went outside, saying to Situ Jingyu:
"Senior Sister Situ, was your journey smooth?"
Situ Jingyu looked the sa as before. She clapped Fang Qingyuan on the shoulder and said heartily:
"I rushed over as soon as I got your letter. My master was worried and didn’t want to co, but he’s getting old and can’t beat anymore, so he eventually agreed."
Fang Qingyuan’s expression turned a bit awkward. ’So Situ Jingyu "fought" her way to an agreent with her master, huh? Very much the Beast Taming Sect’s style.’
"You must be tired from your long journey, Senior Sister. I just made so stewed Rock Lizard at. Care to try so?"
At the ntion of food, Situ Jingyu’s spirits lifted considerably. After being cooped up on a Flying Boat for over a month, her body could take it, but her mind was not as sharp as before. In the face of a delicious al, however, Situ Jingyu regained her usual vigor.
"Then I’ll gladly accept your hospitality, Junior Brother. Oh, right, to get here on that Tier Three Spiritual Boat, I spent the last of my Spirit Stones on the ticket. From now on, you’ll have to house and feed ."
Situ Jingyu said this casually, but Fang Qingyuan was taken aback. He rembered giving her a paynt of thirty Top-grade Spirit Stones. ’How could Situ Jingyu have spent it all already?’
Facing Fang Qingyuan’s confusion, Situ Jingyu said proudly:
"Those thirty Top-grade Spirit Stones? I spent them all in just a few months. They all went toward buying Body Refining Herbs. Haven’t you noticed, Junior Brother? I’ve gotten a little taller."
Prompted by Situ Jingyu, Fang Qingyuan finally noticed that her fra did seem a bit taller and more imposing than two years ago. However, in Fang Qingyuan’s mind, Situ Jingyu had always cut such a figure, so he hadn’t noticed the change at first.
"Congratulations then, Senior Sister. I wonder, what level has your cultivation reached now? Could you handle a Mid-stage Foundation Establishnt Cultivator?"
Situ Jingyu smiled confidently. She held out her palm and clenched it into a fist, creating a sonic boom. She then said:
