"Niu Fenjin, how is Li Qian’s training coming along?" Chu Xiran asked, looking at the approaching man with the yellow hair. She wasted no ti, getting straight to the point.
’If I make small talk with him, who knows what kind of nonsense he’ll start spouting. It’s better not to waste ti.’
Upon hearing this, Niu Fenjin let out an emotional sigh. "Li Qian is every bit the one-in-a-million cultivation genius you said he was. Even with Arrays, his Talent is on a level an ordinary person could never reach."
"It’s only been about two weeks, and he’s already more or less mastered the Frostfire Array. He can’t set one up himself yet, but he has no problem activating and running it."
"At this rate, I estimate he’ll be ready to graduate in about a week, tops."
Of course, "graduating" in this context didn’t an mastering all of Niu Fenjin’s knowledge of Arrays. In truth, that wasn’t necessary.
Li Qian had no intention of becoming an Array Master.
He was only learning about Arrays for the sake of cultivation. Therefore, for this phase of his training, all he needed was to be able to set up and skillfully use the Frostfire Array.
And that was the standard Niu Fenjin had set for his "graduation."
’He’s already close to graduating? That’s incredibly fast...’ Chu Xiran couldn’t help but marvel at the news.
"Hey handso, could you take us to see Li Qian?" Xue Huaiyu interjected while Niu Fenjin and Chu Xiran were speaking.
Niu Fenjin turned his head to look at Xue Huaiyu and was suddenly taken aback.
Just a mont ago, his attention had been entirely on Chu Xiran, so he hadn’t really noticed. But now, getting a good look, he saw this woman was an absolute bombshell.
Voluptuous and mature, with a captivating charm.
In terms of her sheer, destructive power over n—the kind that could inspire criminal thoughts—she was definitely a league above Chu Xiran and Zhu Bingqing.
As he watched Xue Huaiyu’s beautiful eyes sweep over him, Niu Fenjin felt a little light-headed.
He agreed without thinking. "Of course."
Chu Xiran frowned almost imperceptibly. "Shouldn’t we send soone to let Li Qian know we’re coming? It seems a bit rude to just show up unannounced."
"No problem," Niu Fenjin said, puffing out his chest with confidence. "I was just with him. He’s testing the activation and use of the Frostfire Array."
With that, he turned and began to lead the way.
Chu Xiran looked as if she wanted to say sothing but held her tongue. In the end, she simply followed in silence.
Zhou Chubin and Xue Huaiyu followed as well. The latter would occasionally exchange a few words with Niu Fenjin, making him so giddy he could barely walk straight.
Knowing full well what kind of person Niu Fenjin was, Chu Xiran didn’t let it bother her.
’Besides, if he shifts his attention to Xue Huaiyu, that would be a good thing for .’
’I have absolutely no feelings for him whatsoever.’
’I would never even consider such an unreliable man.’
...
anwhile, in a clearing not far from the Central Pond, Li Qian was frowning in deep thought.
He took out a shovel he had prepared earlier and, within the Frostfire Array, dug a pit about a ter long, a ter wide, and half a ter deep.
The Frostfire Array was, in essence, a Combined Array—a fusion of a Frost Array and a Blazing Fire Array.
When Niu Fenjin had set it up, he had first laid down one Array, then the second, and finally, linked the two together.
And the point where the two Arrays were linked was the most critical location for their fusion.
The pit Li Qian had just dug was in this exact spot.
This was also the most suitable position for the Koi Carp’s evolution.
Looking at the Array that Niu Fenjin had already laid out on the ground, Li Qian didn’t hesitate. He used his Spiritual Power to simultaneously connect to the Frost Array on the left and the Blazing Fire Array on the right.
As his Spiritual Power seeped in, the Fire Energy Stone and Ice Energy Stone embedded within their respective Arrays reacted instantly.
A crimson beam of Energy shot out from one side, and a blue-white beam from the other. Both beams spread rapidly, following the patterns of the Array etched into the ground.
Finally, the beams of Energy converged at the overlapping point between the two Arrays.
Although he had already activated it successfully several tis, Li Qian was extrely cautious with every practice attempt.
This ti was no exception.
The two beams of Energy converged, forming a new, light-brown beam that circled the overlapping area of the two Arrays.
Seeing this, Li Qian once again connected to the Energy Stones within the Array, deactivated it, and then hurried over to the Central Pond.
He ran back and forth several tis with a bucket, filling the pit between the two Arrays with water. Then, without further hesitation, Li Qian recalled Xiaoliu into its Beast Taming Ball.
Carrying it over to the pit between the two Arrays, Li Qian released Xiaoliu into the water. He looked at his Pet Beast, his gaze firm, and said, "Xiaoliu, are you ready?"
"BLUB BLUB BLUB..."
Xiaoliu blew bubbles in the small pit, its fish eyes filled with anticipation.
Li Qian took a vial of Blood Orchid Potion from his Space Crystal Pendant. He looked at Xiaoliu and continued to lay out the grand promise. "If you can complete this evolution, I will imdiately form a contract with you, making you my second Pet Beast. In the future, if you continue to evolve, there’s even a chance you could beco an Ice and Fire Giant Dragon."
In truth, this wasn’t just an empty promise.
Li Qian was confident he could help Xiaoliu evolve into a Saint Spirit Level Ice and Fire Giant Dragon.
He even held out hope for researching the subsequent Evolutionary Forms for his Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragon.
With the Golden Finger Pet Beast Research System, anything was possible.
