Last ti, Gu Ming had spent all his Achievent Points to successfully advance Cyan Treasure’s Breathing Technique to the Master Level.
At this stage, Cyan Treasure had completely mastered its Breathing Technique. It could now use its breathing to recover Mana and Physical Strength anyti, anywhere.
When Gu Ming said he had a way, everyone looked at him in unison.
Gu Ming said, "Cyan Treasure, use Storm Ball."
Gu Ming explained that this was the na of the Skill he and Cyan Treasure had agreed upon in the dream.
Although he had seen plenty of Skills like Wind Blade and Wind Ball in the real world, a technique like Cyan Treasure’s—which relied on its Breathing Technique to gather a massive amount of Spiritual Qi in its mouth—was virtually unheard of.
Other Pet Beasts either used a Wind Elent Talent Ability or a Wind Elent Skill to mobilize Mana and form a Wind Ball.
Gu Ming hadn’t found any Skill that was powered purely by a Breathing Technique through the sheer compression of Spiritual Qi.
The core of this technique was the Breathing Technique itself. Since Pet Beasts had only just begun learning Breathing Techniques, it was normal that he couldn’t find any similar skills.
All this was to say that this was a brand-new Skill.
Gu Ming had already nad it, but the Hall of the Great Dao hadn’t appeared. He rely sensed that the world itself had recorded the Skill’s na.
By now, Cyan Treasure had already been fighting the Ice Heart Fox for over ten minutes.
Over the course of this long battle, it had already accumulated a large amount of excess Spiritual Qi within its body.
At Gu Ming’s command, Cyan Treasure’s scales and muscles rippled as it gathered all the mottled Spiritual Qi into its mouth, compressing it fiercely.
Then, with a violent shake of its head, it spat out the Wind Ball, which rapidly expanded as it flew through the air.
Cyan Treasure itself was only a few centiters tall, but the Wind Ball grew like a snowball. As it flew, it mixed with Fire, Water, and Earth Spiritual Qi, taking on a brilliant, Five-Colored hue before smashing into the wall of icy mist.
Instantly, everyone heard a deafening BOOM.
A huge gap had been blasted open in the wall of icy mist.
It was an almost perfect replica of their battle in the dream.
The only difference was that the Wind Ball produced by the now Master Level Breathing Technique was much larger, blasting away nearly half of the icy mist wall.
Cyan Treasure used the sound of the explosion as cover to charge through the icy mist. It unleashed a Master Level Head Hamr on the still-dazed Ice Heart Fox, smashing into it viciously.
With a dull THUD, the Ice Heart Fox was sent flying. It landed far away, tumbling hard across the ground.
This ti, the distinct sound of a bone being dislocated could be heard from the Ice Heart Fox.
That’s right. The Head Hamr had definitely injured the Ice Heart Fox.
At this point in the fight, Teacher Zhang subconsciously shouted, "Cyan Treasure wins!"
Of course, he imdiately ca to his senses, rushed to the Ice Heart Fox’s side, and helped it up to check its injuries.
Seeing that the Ice Heart Fox’s right shoulder was slightly dislocated, he felt the area and called over his Spirit-Seeking Flower Fairy to prepare so dicine on the spot.
As rays of green, Low-star healing light shone down, the Ice Heart Fox’s condition improved slightly.
Teacher Zhang then set its dislocated bone and applied so dicinal herbs to the injury.
The battle was considered Cyan Treasure’s victory.
If a Pet Beast of the Sa-star Level had taken a hit from that Master Level Head Hamr, it would have suffered broken bones across half its body, at the very least.
In that case, a true Healing Pet Beast would have been needed. Thankfully, this was a Zero-star fighting a Two-star Pet Beast, so the Ice Heart Fox’s body was durable enough to withstand the blow, saving them from a hefty dical bill.
Teacher Zhang stared at Cyan Treasure as if it were so kind of little monster.
He hadn’t expected Cyan Treasure’s Breathing Technique to have advanced so far. As an expert, he could imdiately deduce how Cyan Treasure had produced that Wind Ball.
"Gu Ming, you never stop coming up with Innovative Skills, do you?"
"It’s a bit of a sha, though. There are plenty of Innovative Skills at this level."
Teacher Zhang offered a complint before tempering it, not wanting Gu Ming to get a big head.
The old man, however, was extrely interested in this kind of innovation.
"As expected of my grandson’s Pet Beast! Excellent, excellent!" the old man said, chuckling happily.
"Alright, all of you go get so rest. Be up early tomorrow. I’m going to teach you military combat techniques for Pet Beasts."
Gu Ming wanted to say sothing more, but the old man waved his hand dismissively. He was firm about sending them away, and Gu Ming didn’t get a chance to ask his questions.
Gu Ming carried his Pet Beast back to his bedroom to rest, but he couldn’t fall asleep. Sothing was still bothering him, so he went and knocked on Teacher Zhang’s door.
"Teacher Zhang, could you let your Spirit-Seeking Flower Fairy out? I’m still a little worried about that Black and White Ape."
"No need to worry. I’ve already sent it out on patrol. If you’re that concerned, you can have Cyan Treasure join the patrol too."
Hearing this, Gu Ming realized that Teacher Zhang was more thorough than he had thought.
’Then he probably wasn’t deliberately lying earlier during training when he said he didn’t see anything.’
anwhile, in another room, Mr. Gu was personally instructing the Black and White Long-Ard Ape on its "performance" for the next day. Mrs. Gu’s Hidden Mist Butterfly stood guard at the door, creating an Illusion.
That’s right, this was part of the Gu Family’s plan.
They couldn’t just reveal themselves and directly guide Gu Ming’s Pet Beast. The old man might get away with it, but it was impossible for the two of them.
Besides, when it ca to a Pet Beast’s combat, it was naturally best to have another Pet Beast provide personal guidance.
Therefore, they chose to have Mr. Gu’s Pet Beast—a Five-star Pet Beast—act as a combat instructor.
Since Gu Ming didn’t recognize it, Mr. Gu planned to have it disguise itself as a wild Spirit Beast from the forest and give Cyan Treasure so combat training.
It would be a training battle—fighting and instructing at the sa ti—disguised as the playful antics of an ape.
...
Gu Ming was completely unaware of all this.
As he lay in bed, a thought suddenly struck him. ’Grandpa’s Pet Beast is actually a Fire Elent Pet Beast.’
’Also, the map of the future looks very different from how things are now.’
’What happened in the future?’
’I have a feeling it wasn’t as simple as just the Demon War.’
’And then there are the so-called Hidden Sects. Right now, the Pet Beast community shops are theoretically state-run, but thirty-so years in the future, will they beco Hidden Sects?’
’Is there a connection sowhere?’
’Or maybe it’s just an error in the system’s knowledge.’
Gu Ming mulled over these various thoughts until morning ca.
The mont he woke up, he heard the sound of hurried footsteps outside.
"This is bad! A wild Spirit Beast is attacking!"
Gu Ming recognized Mrs. Gu’s voice. He shot out of bed and ran outside.
Cyan Treasure was no longer by his side. Through his Pet Beast Contract, he could sense that it was fighting outside.
Sure enough, when Gu Ming reached the corridor, he saw a Black and White Ape fighting his two Pet Beasts, Cyan Treasure and Mouse Treasure, just beyond the courtyard at the edge of the woods. It was an intense, close-quarters fight, with the sound of solid blows—BAM! BAM!—echoing from the brawl.
The Ice Heart Fox had even joined the fight.
Seeing the worried looks on everyone’s faces, Gu Ming couldn’t help but feel anxious himself.
But when he saw that the old man was also on the scene, a thought suddenly struck him. ’Could this be Grandpa’s Pet Beast?’
