Chapter 383: Chapter 143: Xing Yun Swings the Club_3

Because it would make him feel very shameful.

But there was a question he still wanted to ask.

“Instructor, what exactly is the purpose of the Guardian Beast Co-operation Preparatory Camp?”

“bat missions are one thing, but the content of the final assessment mission, if carried out by experienced bat personnel, could be done much better, without any loss of life. Why let the bat teams of the preparatory camp carry it out? We have no experience and will only hold the instructors back.”

“bat missions are something every batant will undertake,” Xing Yun spoke calmly, “regardless of which bat direction one is from, no one can do without the most basic team bat. In fact, many bat personnel fight like this day after day, year after year—this is the foundation of the Yan Huang Alliance’s resistance against the beasts.”

“As for the final assessment mission, each of your teams has a distinctly different objective. However, in reality, it covers all the bat directions of the border frontline.” Xing Yun paused slightly in his speech.

“Penetrating the Mutant Beast Nest to carry out extermination is the daily task of the Pioneer bat Camp.”

“Investigating the Mutant Beast Nest to provide a basis for extermination is the daily task of the Outpost bat Camp.”

“Rushing to support different areas of the border frontline, helping teams in crisis, is the daily task of the Roaming bat Camp.”

“Treating wounded batants, ensuring logistics, assisting batants in exchanging various materials, is the daily task of the Support bat Camp.”

“Cleaning up the battlefield after a surge of mutant beasts, collecting various supernatural resources from their bodies, recovering the bodies of teammates, is the daily task of the Cleaning bat Camp.”

“And to mand teammates in battle, plan strategically, is the daily task of the mand Headquarters.”

Xing Yun looked calmly at Lin Su, “In both the bat campaigns and final assessment missions, what you’ve undergone enpasses everything on the border frontline.”

“You are young and lack experience, but everyone has e from there.”

“You’re asking about the significance of the Guardian Beast Co-operation Preparatory Camp?” Xing Yun’s voice became slightly deeper, “You’ve already passed the assessment of the Prep Camp, so it’s not inappropriate to tell you.”

“The emergence of the Guardian Beast Co-operation Prep Camp is for the day when, should the border frontlines fall, people will be able to step up in times of crisis. Then, you won’t need to pay with lives to make up for the lack of experience and will be able to use what you’ve learned in the prep camp to quickly establish various bat units and form a new border frontline.”

“A wildfire can’t burn everything; the spring breeze will bring rebirth.”

“The sacrifice now is to save more in the future.”

“Do you understand?”

“How is that possible?!” Lin Su’s pupils shrunk suddenly, as if a heavy hammer struck his heart, “With Guardian Beast Co-operation in bat, Beast Tamers of the same rank can crush mutant beasts. The twelve mand Chiefs can fend off Dark Qilin, which can’t make a move. How could the border frontline possibly fall?”

“Nothing is impossible,” Xing Yun, sat back down on the ground, took a hefty swig of liquor, and spoke calmly, “What if one day, a second immortal being appears in the Dark Demon Immortal Country?”

“What?!” Lin Su exclaimed loudly.

“More than forty years ago, three immortal mutant beasts emerged in just a few years.” Xing Yun’s voice trailed off as his gaze drifted towards the horizon, filled with a hint of confusion, “Do you really think… that after more than forty years, there are only three immortal mutant beasts on Blue Star?”

“Not every immortal mutant beast gathers forces and establishes an Immortal Country right after a breakthrough. Maybe right beneath the ground we stand on, or somewhere else hidden, there exists a mutant beast that has quietly achieved immortality?” Xing Yun stated with implication.

Lin Su clenched his fists suddenly.

This question from Xing Yun was something he had never considered before.

Textbooks and other sources told him that there are three immortal mutant beasts on Blue Star, which have established three Great Immortal Countries and have been at war with humans for a long time.

But are there really only these three immortal mutant beasts?

The current three immortal mutant beasts already put enormous pressure on the various safety alliances, keeping them constantly on the brink of survival.

If another immortal being were to appear…

The balance maintained for forty years could be shattered, possibly leading to a plete collapse on the human side.

Those potential immortal mutant beasts that might exist but have not struck out at humanity might not hold much enmity towards humans or may have their own agendas, so they choose to wait and see for the time being.

But these are all potential threats to the Yan Huang Alliance.

He was wrong.

Terribly wrong.

He thought that with the Guardian Beast Co-operation, the Yan Huang Alliance could already suppress the Dark Demon Immortal Country. All that was needed was more powerful figures like the twelve mand Chiefs or the emergence of a legendary Beast Tamer, and then they might have a chance to win.

But the reality is, should any other immortal mutant beast appear against the Yan Huang Alliance, this hard-won situation could easily be ruined.

The Yan Huang Alliance has never known peace.

Standing there frozen, not knowing how much time had passed, Lin Su was startled by a faint sound of air breaking.

He lifted his head and saw that Instructor Xing had at some point stood up again, his Black Cloud Stick in hand, swinging it in the alleys between the gravestones.

It was a set of stick techniques Lin Su had never seen Xing Yun perform before.

Having practiced martial arts for so long, he had the ability to judge the quality of a set of weapon techniques.

Just by watching for a moment, Lin Su knew it was a set of flashy but impractical techniques.

In the eyes of outsiders, it would probably seem impressive, but pared to Xing Yun’s original stick techniques, it was far inferior.

Yet Xing Yun swung it with exceptional seriousness.

The slightly inebriated man unleashed his stick with the aid of alcohol, no longer steady, but showing off and deliberately practicing amidst the gravestones.

The techniques were erratic, yet precisely weaving through the gaps between the tombstones without disturbing the resting souls of his rades, as if teasing them playfully.

Lin Su rubbed his eyes gently.

He saw it.

He saw countless illusory figures casually seated around, watching Xing Yun show off the flashy stick techniques, cheering loudly for every flick of the stick, clapping, and hollering in approval.

Tears streamed down Lin Su’s cheeks.

He didn’t even know why he was crying.

His fists slowly clenched tighter and tighter.

The past and the present were you.

The future is me.

It is us.
