The tranquility of the night ant rest for the people and their Pet Beasts in the military camp after a day of training.
However, for all the remaining combatants still on the battlefield, they couldn’t afford to let their guard down—not even a little bit. They had to be even more vigilant.
Because nightti was when most Pet Beasts were in their elent, and it marked the beginning of danger.
As night began to fall, the release of Hypnotic Mist was initiated across the battlefield.
Clearly, for any team hoping to survive such a night unscathed—especially those holed up on the fringes, just trying to accumulate Points—a chaotic battle was inevitable! And indeed, that was precisely what happened.
Across the dark battlefield, the olive-green Hypnotic Mist gradually spread like a fog.
On the fringes, other Beast Tar groups that had remained quiet until now also began to stir.
The flas of war were kindled. Beneath the cover of darkness, the battlefield beca just as chaotic, especially during the first half of the night.
This turmoil, however, seed to have little to do with the Forest Wolf Troop.
When the contest had first begun, the Forest Wolf Troop had imdiately advanced deep into enemy territory, alone.
Now, in this relatively central part of the battlefield—though not its absolute core—by the small lake, most enemies had still not ventured.
The Forest Wolf Troop remained quiet throughout the night. This didn’t an, however, that the other teams were equally still.
Particularly noteworthy were the Shadow Leopard Group and the Black Tiger Group, as both of their Evolutionary Bodies were relatively adept at nightti operations—especially the latter’s Netherworld Demon Tiger, a Pet Beast with the special Dark Elent Attribute.
They exploited the advantages of the night to the fullest.
From the first half of the night into the second, they managed to knock the Forest Wolf Troop from its first-place position, causing them to drop to third!
It was incredibly intense! Even the high-ranking officers within the Legion had never anticipated such a fierce outco!
「A day and a night passed.」
Su Ping awoke, and after freshening up, he returned to the live broadcast plaza for the battlefield. When he looked again, he was montarily stunned.
Early in the morning, the plaza was still packed with almost as many people as before. So were even eating breakfast while watching the unfolding events on the large screens, their eyes wide with a tension that seed to surpass even that of the teams shown.
Su Ping’s pupils contracted slightly as well.
Overnight, the Forest Wolf Troop had fallen to third place. But, astoundingly, only nine teams remained on the entire battlefield!
Only a day and a night had passed! In just that single day and night, the officially deployed Hypnotic Mist had only spread across the outer fifth of the periphery. Yet, only nine teams were left on the entire battlefield.
Furthermore, this count of nine teams was sowhat misleading. For example, groups like the Fla Wolf Group and the White Tiger Group only had one or two mbers left, barely clinging to survival.
Even powerful teams like the Shadow Leopard Group and the Black Tiger Group had suffered one or two losses.
This was enough to show just how intense the fighting had beco during that single night.
It was precisely because of this fierce fighting that when Su Ping arrived, many people turned their gazes towards him.
This was because, at that mont, the only team on the entire battlefield that remained completely intact—without a single injury or loss of mbers, having safely weathered the fiercest battles of the night—was the Forest Wolf Troop.
At this point, the Forest Wolf Troop was only a re one point behind the second-placed Shadow Leopard Group. Such a tiny gap was practically negligible.
The reason was simple: with all five of their mbers unhard, the Forest Wolf Troop earned slightly more survival Points every two hours than the other teams that had suffered losses.
So, even though other teams had eliminated more opponents, the gap between them and the Forest Wolf Troop hadn’t widened significantly under these conditions!
Su Ping smiled faintly. Looking at it this way, it seed the minimum expected outco for this contest was already a sure thing!
However, just as this thought surfaced, sothing unexpected occurred—an event that neither Su Ping nor the Forest Wolf Troop on the battlefield could have foreseen.
The ti reached 8:00 a.m. Exactly twenty-four hours had passed since the contest began.
The life-sign watches of nearly all Legion mbers on the battlefield flickered faintly. Then, a notification sound was heard, followed by a ssage:
[The contest has proceeded for one day and one night and has now entered a white-hot stage. Current detailed Point rankings and information are now public! Available for query at any ti.]
[1. Black Tiger Group: 81 Points (Elimination Points: 35, Survival Points: 46) Current Remaining mbers: 3]
[2. Shadow Leopard Group: 75 Points (Elimination Points: 23, Survival Points: 52) Current Remaining mbers: 4]
[3. Forest Wolf Troop: 74 Points (Elimination Points: 14, Survival Points: 60) Current Remaining mbers: 5]
[...]
A series of current rankings appeared before everyone’s eyes almost instantly.
In a valley at the center of the battlefield, a man standing beside several giant, pitch-black tigers cursed angrily, "Damn it! The Shadow Leopard Group, fine, whatever! But where the hell did this Forest Wolf Troop co from?"
"Sixty survival Points? Sixty! Did they actually get the maximum? Where the hell have those guys been hiding out?"
It wasn’t just the Black Tiger Group; other surviving teams scattered across various locations had all, more or less, suffered losses in their numbers during such a night.
