Ji Liang lowered his head and kissed her, asking in a husky voice, "Were you scared today?"

Si Shuo shook her head. "No. You were all there, so I wasn’t scared at all. I was just really angry."

Ji Liang pressed his forehead against hers. "Little Shushu, there are many injustices in the world. We can’t let every single one of them get to us."

"We have to take care of ourselves first. Only when we’re capable enough can we extend a hand to help others."

Si Shuo humd in agreent, hugging him tightly and chuckling softly. "I understand. I was powerless before, and even now, I’m still just an ordinary person. I have too much I want to protect. I’m not going to be a fool and stick my neck out."

"But I will urge the Beast God to act. As the Beast God, he can’t just pretend nothing has happened when the Winged Dragons provoke and disrespect him again and again."

"Anything involving the Female Saints is his responsibility!"

The sleepy Beast God: ’Heh. Don’t @ , thanks!’

Seeing that her mood was indeed stable and she didn’t seem upset, Ji Liang understood. His little female had missed him.

A thrill shot through him. How could he care about any of that now? He swept her into his arms and dashed toward a cave he had found.

The cave was dry and tidy, with a black snakeskin spread out on the ground. It was soft, cool, and breathable—the most comfortable of sumr mats. Needless to say, he had put in quite a bit of secret effort to be able to whisk his little female away, and now it was paying off at this crucial mont!

Si Shuo smiled, pressing her lips together. She pulled away from his embrace and pushed him down to sit on the stone bed. Pinning him in place, she leaned close to his ear and said, "I’ve been working on a Snake Dance for the past couple of days. How about you take a look for , Ji Liang?"

As she spoke, she blindfolded him. After changing her attire slightly, she chuckled softly and pulled the strip of cloth away.

The closer one’s life is to its end, the more one cherishes it, wishing they could stretch every second into a minute.

She had a wide range of hobbies and wanted to try everything. After all, her family wasn’t always there for her, but they gave her plenty of money to spend as she pleased.

She couldn’t perform vigorous dances, but she could manage so elegant and gentle classical dances with smaller movents. They not only cultivated her temperant but also allowed her to exercise within the limits her heart could bear.

Now, Si Shuo was wearing a modified qipao in a striking red and black. The dress hugged her curvaceous figure. Her snow-white hair was held up by a serpentine wooden hairpin, her long legs were fair and straight, and she held a red feathered fan that half-covered her face.

Ji Liang took one look, and his golden pupils turned into vertical slits. He began to hiss excitedly.

Si Shuo smiled, her lips pressed together, and began to hum "Jing Hong Yi Mian." Her entire aura changed. The sweet, well-behaved girl transford under the cool moonlight into a siren-like snake spirit that could pluck out a man’s heart and soul. She seed to be absorbing the moon’s essence as she took on this form, enchanting and bewitching him.

The qipao masterfully blended modesty and curves in a harmonious paradox. She swayed gracefully, alluring without being vulgar, bewitching without being garish. The sound of her humming was nonchalant.

Every expression, every movent, seed to dance upon his very heartstrings. ’So this is what it ans to be lost in a worldly dream,’ Ji Liang, whose cultural knowledge had been deepening lately, thought as a phrase popped into his mind: a living, breathing, fragrant beauty.

When the dance was over, Si Shuo used her fan to tilt Ji Liang’s chin up. "My, what a handso young man. I wonder, might I have the honor of spending a pleasant night with you?"

Ji Liang lunged forward to kiss her but was blocked by the red fan. His voice was husky and urgent. "Little Shushu, stop teasing . I can’t take it..."

Si Shuo let out a low laugh and whispered slowly by his ear, "This is just the beginning. It’s a Snake Dance, after all. There must be so... entanglent."

However, her next words were cut off as Ji Liang turned his head and captured her lips. "Little Shushu, this is enough for today. Let’s save the rest for next ti!"

Outside the cave, the night was as thick as ink. The chirping of insects and croaking of frogs played an ancient, unchanging symphony. The river gurgled, its surface rippling with the reflection of the bright moon, each wave breaking and reforming. The disturbance stirred up clouds of Fire Candle Insects, making them burst forth like fireworks...

Si Shuo wasn’t even awake yet when she heard the "Youyou" sounds of the two little ones, calling back and forth. She chuckled and turned on her side, pulling the child beside her into her arms. Without opening her eyes, she laughed softly, "Oh my, which little treasure have I caught in my arms?"

"Youyou!" The little ones were still small, but they carried the inherited mories of their parents. It was as if a veil was lifted a little more each day, and they understood more and more. They said their "youyou"s with great determination.

The baby slled milky and was soft to the touch. Si Shuo nudged Xuyou with her head. "Good morning, my little Youyou treasure!"

"You-you-you," Xuyou babbled, his toothless mouth breaking into a grin. He was laughing as he said two words: "Good morning." Then he added another: "Shuoshuo!"

Beside them, Xu Ye, who had been holding his Crystal Stone Bead Chain, went still. He turned his head and also grinned. "Shuoshuo, you-you-you, ye-ye!"

"It’s Mother, not Shuoshuo," Si Shuo said with a smile, tapping the tips of the two little ones’ noses.

"Youyou, Mo-ther~" Xuyou was quick to follow.

"Ti to get up and eat, Shuoshuo!" Xiao Cheng heard the noise and ca in carrying a basin, a smile on his face. But after he entered the inner room, his gaze paused on Si Shuo’s neck.

The sun was already high in the sky outside. Si Shuo chuckled softly and reached out her hand to him.

Xiao Cheng took her hand and pulled gently, sweeping her into his arms. He carried her princess-style to the outer room and stood waiting impatiently between the two rooms for her to finish washing up. The mont she was done, he kissed her with so urgency. "Three days left..."

Si Shuo, of course, understood what he was counting down to. She smiled, her lips pressed together. "It’s not three days. You still have Zhi Le, Zhi Qi, and Ji Liang ahead of you."

Xiao Cheng gave her a pitiful look. He was ranked sixth. Didn’t that an six days plus three days? He would have to wait nine more days?

"Shuoshuo... can’t we go in reverse order?" he pleaded. His own little female was right in front of him every day, yet all he could do was catch her scent.

Si Shuo shook her head. Just as he drooped his head in disappointnt, she whispered, "But I have a soft spot for you. What if I sneak you in line?"

Xiao Cheng imdiately perked up, nodding eagerly. His smile was dazzling as he whispered back, full of conviction, "Don’t you worry, Shuoshuo. I definitely won’t be any worse than the others!"

Si Shuo nearly choked. ’They’re competitive about this, too?’

Her face flushed slightly. ’It seems so,’ she thought. Every ti things got "intense," the males would always ask her who was better, and they always had their ways of making her give a satisfactory answer.

Ji Liang brought in the food: a stead fish, a bowl of stead egg with minced at, a dish of pickled vegetables, a fruit platter, a cob of corn, and a plate of fried rice!

Si Shuo had a good appetite these days and could eat all of it. Besides, she had the Spring Breeze Technique. Circulating it through her body a few tis each day was like using a Fat Burning Skill, keeping her in optimal condition.

By the ti she finished eating, Xu Chi had also returned from a patrol outside.

"What’s the situation outside?" Ji Liang asked, raising an eyebrow.

Xu Chi pressed his lips together. "The Beastn outside were likely hired by the Winged Dragon Clan with Flower Crystal Stones. They’re all Rogue Beasts working for Crystal Stones."

"They’re targeting the Female Saints. There are two or three Beastn guarding the entrance to every Female Saint’s ho. Anyone who goes out gets questioned, and then they follow them!"
