Beast World: A Fragile Beauty Blessed with Many Children Chapter 375 - 374: This One of Hers is a Little Silly
Si Shuo’s mood grew heavy for a mont, but she quickly shook it off. ’Our good days have only just begun. We should live in the mont. Why worry about such a distant future?’
They hadn’t been in line for long when several Flying Beasts in the uniforms of the City Lord Mansion’s guards landed before them. "Clan Leader Wei Jin, Vice Admiral Wei Ce, there you are! We’ll take you in first."
Wei Jin smiled, nodded his thanks, and climbed aboard with Song Ying, who was holding their pair of Iron eating Beast cubs.
Si Shuo’s family followed close behind. They swept past the long line of envious Beastn, carried by the Flying Beast Soldiers into the rear garden of the City Lord Mansion.
The garden included a large, enclosed area of low-lying shrubs. The chill of spring hadn’t yet passed, but a hundred flowers were in full bloom before them, as if celebrating the day’s joyous occasion.
"Wei Jin, you’re here!" A burly, good-natured man ca forward, smiling as he patted Wei Jin’s shoulder. He tilted his head, his gaze sweeping past Song Ying to land on the pair of Iron eating Beast cubs. A grin spread across his face. "Good, good, good. Your family is doing better and better. Your Father and Mother are with the Beast God now, so they can rest easy..."
He then patted Wei Ce’s shoulder. "And you, kid, you’re looking more robust than ever. Seems your little female is feeding you well..."
Hearing this, Si Shuo couldn’t help but cough lightly. ’The way he says that, you’d think I was actually raising livestock.’
The cubs all chid in with a smile, "Hello, Second Great-Grandpa!"
"Oh, hello there! Hello to all of you," Wei Jin’s second uncle said, smiling and nodding repeatedly. "Today is your Second Great-Grandma’s birthday banquet, so eat and play to your heart’s content, little ones. There’s a special play area for the cubs over there. Guards are watching, so you can go find so friends to play with."
The cubs turned to look at their Mother and Fathers. Si Shuo smiled and ruffled the hair of the two cubs beside her, then placed the pair of Snake Cubs from her hand onto Youyou’s head.
The little girl’s hair was done in twin buns, adorned with small bronze bells. She wore an outfit of fiery-red Beast Skins that made her delicate features look even more beautiful and her skin even fairer. With her lingering baby fat, the little one was utterly adorable.
"No troublemaking, and get along with your friends," Si Shuo instructed with a gentle laugh.
The cubs humd in agreent and skipped cheerfully toward an area with rockeries and fountains, with Zhi Qi and Gong You following behind them.
Seeing them leave, the two Iron eating Beasts in Wei Jin and Song Ying’s arms grew anxious. They started squirming and whimpering in their tiny voices, wanting to follow.
Song Ying smiled helplessly and said to Wei Jin, "Brother Jin, you go on and tend to your duties. I’ll take the cubs over to play for a while." She had brought two of her Beast Husbands with her today; after all, as a Clan Leader, Wei Jin couldn’t be expected to stay by her and the cubs’ side every mont.
Wei Jin smiled and nodded, whispering, "Yingying, call for if you need anything. Anything at all, big or small!"
Song Ying pursed her lips into a smile and patted him lightly. "I know. Now go on, Clan Leader Wei Jin, your duties await."
Once they left, Wei Ce turned to Si Shuo and declared, "Shuoshuo, you heard that, right? From now on, no matter what happens, you have to rember to call for . For , everything counts, big or small!"
Wei Jin narrowed his eyes and clenched a fist. "You little brat, you’re asking for a beating, aren’t you? Haven’t been spanked in three days and you’re already trying to tear the roof down? I’m keeping a tally. Just wait until we get back, I’ll tan your hide with a broom handle!"
Wei Ce just grunted and squeezed closer to Si Shuo. "Shuoshuo, I’m so scaaared..." he whined mockingly.
Dark lines ford on Si Shuo’s face. ’This kid really is asking for a beating. He even dares to make fun of his own father!’
The garden was full of flowers and plants. Wei Ce went straight to picking them, filling a whole basket. He practically decimated an entire patch, and even tucked a stalk behind his own ear.
Seeing Si Shuo frequently glance at Wei Ce, Xiao Cheng also picked a vibrant, rose-red flower and tucked it behind his ear. "Do you like how this looks?"
’Definitely not. All he needs is a fake mole next to his nose and he could pass for a professional matchmaker.’
Si Shuo’s mouth twitched. She glanced to her side at the ruggedly handso Zhi Le and the indolent, dangerously cool Ji Liang. ’Now *that’s* how a man is supposed to look.’
’If Xiao Cheng wants to win my favor, he needs to find a better way. Just because I glance at sothing a few tis doesn’t an I like it!’
Xiao Cheng always left her at a loss for whether to laugh or cry. ’Foxes are supposed to be clever, but hers seed to have a touch of dorkiness mixed in with his smarts.’
Si Shuo rose onto her tiptoes and plucked the flower from behind his ear. "Xiao Cheng, I just had a great idea for these flowers. Let’s make a floral hairpin for Lady Mu Qiong later. Will you help make one?"
Xiao Cheng’s eyes lit up, and he nodded eagerly. "Of course!"
The two of them sat on a nearby rock and began sorting through the flowers in the basket. Following Si Shuo’s instructions, Xiao Cheng trimd the excess leaves and stems.
Since it was Lady Mu Qiong’s auspicious and festive birthday, Si Shuo chose red and gold as the main colors, accented with pink, pale yellow, and green leaves. The resulting floral hairpin was beautiful, elegant, and incredibly eye-catching.
The tradition of floral hairpins held an irresistible beauty. It was the kind of thing that, once seen, was never forgotten, leaving one with a sense of regret if they never had the chance to own one.
It wasn’t just Xiao Cheng weaving; Zhi Le, Ji Liang, and Wei Ce also watched and learned earnestly. ’The males in this Beast World are so capable,’ Si Shuo reflected. ’It’s completely different from my old world, where so many n only knew how to make money, leaving all the housework and child-rearing to their wives and the grandparents. So didn’t even contribute to household expenses.’
’That phenonon of "widowed-by-marriage" made so many people terrified of getting married. The saying "marriage is the death of romance" really wasn’t just an empty phrase.’
’But here in the Beast World Continent, what male couldn’t hunt for his female and cubs, protect them from harm, and then co ho to cook als, sew clothes, build a ho, and raise the children?’
’Even though they were beginners, the floral hairpins they wove, both in color combination and shape, were in no way inferior to her own. It seed her daily lessons had paid off; all of her Beast Husbands had a good eye for beauty.’
’Of course, with a few exceptions.’
Xiao Cheng wove one for her in shades of pink and purple. It complented Si Shuo’s fair and lovely complexion, making her look like a flower in peak bloom, embodying the very pinnacle of beauty.
Si Shuo only had one head, so she wore the one Xiao Cheng had made for her. The hairpins made by Zhi Le and the others were sent over to the little cubs.
The beautiful floral hairpins made the cubs the object of everyone’s envy. Other children soon lined up, offering snacks in exchange for a chance to wear one and show off.
Soon, the Beastn from Guangshou City and the nearby Beast Cities who had received invitations had all but arrived. The birthday banquet officially began. Lady Mu Qiong appeared, wearing a red, cross-collared, waist-cinched cotton dress wrapped in Beast Skins. Beautiful shells and gemstones adorned her neck, and her hair was intricately braided with colorful ropes. Even her face was painted with bright colors. Her attire was a vibrant spectacle, and one could see how much importance she placed on this banquet. She reminded Si Shuo of the Witch Doctors she had seen.
Everyone smiled and congratulated her in unison: "Wishing Lady Mu Qiong a happy birthday and good health..."
At first, people called out their own congratulations, but the voices gradually rged into a single, powerful chant. The sheer force of the Blessing filled everyone’s heart with warmth and joy.
Lady Mu Qiong smiled and nodded. "Thank you, everyone. Your presence at my birthday banquet is the best gift I could ask for. Please, eat and drink to your heart’s content today. If our hospitality is lacking in any way, I ask for your forgiveness..."
After these brief pleasantries, the guests began to co forward one by one to present their birthday gifts. While they were nominally birthday presents, on an occasion like this, they were also a display of the wealth, connections, and standing of the families and clans they represented.
Each gift was more precious and astonishing than the last...
