Beast World Food Stall: Feeding My Cubs and Taming My Beast Husbands Chapter 247: The Task Platform is Missing
The one on top had a fish tail pattern. Yu An casually picked up another; this one was stamped with a cat’s paw.
Yu An was sure she had never seen anything like this before. She stored a few beads with different patterns in her space for safekeeping, then went to find the roster.
Fortunately, the roster’s location was quite conspicuous. In the vast storeroom, aside from a small amount of gold and silver and a large pile of blood-red beads, there was only a single, simple bookshelf.
The rosters were sorted chronologically. Yu An estimated the approximate ti period, quickly found a thick volu, and flipped through the pages, nas flashing through her mind.
Not here.
Not here.
Still not here.
However, Yu An unexpectedly saw a familiar na. She didn’t know the person, but she’d heard of them.
When she had previously discussed Beastn who died from trying new foods with Beast Father Ao Jin, there was a Beastman who had supposedly died from eating a passion fruit with this very na.
Because it was so unique, Yu An rembered the na clearly.
’To think, it wasn’t poisoning but a faked death. And after faking his death, he was brought here by the Beast God.’
She saw a red ’X’ drawn over the person’s na. Lu Lu had told her this ant the person was already dead.
When it was ti to turn to the last page, Yu An took a deep breath and nervously flipped it open.
She scanned the nas one by one, and at the very end, she saw two nas—Shen Zi and Mo Feng.
Yu An’s eyes lit up, but in the next second, she was filled with confusion.
There was no ’X’ over their nas, but there was a question mark written to the side. ’What does that an?’
She flipped through the other rosters and found that they seed to be the only two with question marks.
Yu An wanted to search for more clues, but just then, a guard’s voice ca from outside the door. "Rest assured, sir. Everything in the storeroom is as it should be."
"Very good. You must guard this place well. Don’t let anyone in... On second thought, I’ll go in and take a look around."
"Yes, sir. I’ll open the door for you right away."
Startled, Yu An quickly put the roster back in its place and scrambled into the tunnel.
The exit she had chosen was well-hidden, concealed by a pile of wooden crates, so it wouldn’t be easily discovered.
So, Yu An didn’t leave imdiately. Instead, she remained in the tunnel, planning to get a quick, stealthy look at the newcor.
’The guard was so deferential. This person must hold a high position in the training ground. I wonder what his relationship with the Beast God is.’
By the light of the Fluorite, Yu An saw the man’s profile.
He was rather handso, with the air of a young nobleman at first glance, but for so reason, Yu An couldn’t help but shiver.
Her instincts told her he was not a good person.
’But that makes sense,’ she thought. ’The higher-ups at the training ground must be the Beast God’s people. And anyone mixed up with the Beast God can’t be any good.’
Yu An saw the man pick up a blood-red bead and mutter, "...still not enough... I need more..."
She couldn’t hear clearly, only catching a few muffled words.
The man left soon after, taking more than a dozen blood-red beads with him.
After he was gone, Yu An filled in the dirt she had excavated for the tunnel, then returned the way she ca, leaving the training ground with Lu Lu under the cover of night.
Only after they were clear of the training ground did Yu An ask, "Lu Lu, you said a red ’X’ ans the person is dead. What about a question mark?"
She had taken a photo, which she now showed to Lu Lu. Lu Lu scratched its head with the tip of a vine. "I don’t know. I’ve never heard of that."
Yu An stroked her chin. "It definitely doesn’t an they’re dead, or they would have just used an ’X’. Oh well, no point in guessing. As long as they’re not dead, it’s good news."
It was already dark, and descending the mountain was unsafe, so she prepared to spend the night in her space.
While she was at it, she checked on the small tree, which had already grown a second fruit. She casually plucked the first, now-ripe fruit.
As the bright red fruit settled into her hand, a na suddenly flashed through Yu An’s mind—Nirvana Fruit.
"Nirvana Fruit? Is that the na of this fruit?"
’Then this tree must be the Nirvana Tree. Eating the fruit can bring soone back from the dead. The na is quite fitting.’
Yu An carefully stored the fruit away. She planned to find Han Li’s parents and give it to his biological father, Han Xiaoyun. She estimated it would allow his skeletal body to grow flesh and blood again.
The space hadn’t changed much. With the Cloud Beasts around, everything was kept in perfect order.
It was just that the accumulated vegetables, fruits, and grains had already filled several warehouses. She would need to find so ti to clear out her inventory.
Yu An had been traveling all day and was exhausted both ntally and physically. She headed straight for her room in the manor and collapsed into bed.
She slept dreamlessly until a Cloud Beast ca to wake her up.
"An’an, An’an, wake up! It’s the ti you set!"
Yu An groggily sat up, grabbing the Little Cloud Beast that had woken her and smothering it with kisses and cuddles.
The entire Cloud Beast turned red with shyness and bounced off to show off to its friends.
Yu An splashed her face with cold water. Once she was fully awake, she made a simple al in her space.
She could use the kitchenware from the food cart permanently, but she couldn’t just bring the whole cart out every ti she wanted to cook.
So, Yu An ca up with a solution: she broke the cart down into its parts. The kitchenware was placed in the kitchen, while the cart itself was parked in an open area of the space, ready to be reassembled for use when needed.
Rembering that the task platform hadn’t issued any new tasks in a long ti, Yu An went to check on it after her al.
The task platform was quiet. Because it was in a rather remote location, the Cloud Beasts sotis forgot to clean it. Seeing it covered in dust, Yu An found a cloth, intending to wipe it clean.
But as soon as she wiped it, the task platform suddenly... toppled over!
Yu An was stunned. "This..."
’Is this a setup?’
’Not sure. I’ll take a closer look.’
She set the task platform upright and found that it felt as light as a piece of paper, but the platform was clearly supposed to be made of stone!
Yu An imdiately summoned a Cloud Beast. After asking, she learned that no one had been near the task platform recently.
Ever since arriving in the Endless Land, the only person who had entered her space was Xiao Yu. But according to the Cloud Beast, Xiao Yu hadn’t co this way either.
They were worried Xiao Yu might trip if he ran around, so a Cloud Beast was always with him.
Yu An couldn’t figure it out for the life of her. "If no one touched it, don’t tell the task platform grew legs and ran off?"
’Not only did it run off, but it even left a double standing here? If that’s true, has it beco sentient?’
’But then again, it’s not impossible. After all, a platform that can issue tasks is already ’sentient’ in a way, isn’t it?’
Yu An instructed the Cloud Beasts to keep an eye on the task platform and notify her imdiately if anything seed strange. Then, she left her space and headed down the mountain to et up with Ao Si and the others.
The group headed straight for Winter City, where Han Li and his son were. At that very mont, Han Li was on the run, clutching his cub, Little Wolf.
"My boy, we’re in a real miserable spot! Not only are we trapped in this city, but now we’re being hunted down..."
A wave of sorrow washed over Han Li, and he clutched Little Wolf tighter as he sprinted forward.
Little Wolf was smothered in his embrace, barely able to breathe. He had a feeling the people chasing them ant no harm, but his Beast Father, Han Li, had said—
"Zaizai, you’re still too naive. If they don’t an us any harm, why are they chasing us?"
"Look at the mask the leader is wearing! It’s green-faced and long-fanged! You can tell just by looking that he’s no good!"
"No more talking, no more talking! Let’s run! They’re catching up again!"
