Qiao Sang’s expression grew solemn at the thought, and she imdiately said:
"Let’s go back."
"Xun Xun~"
Little Treasure Hunter’s eyes glead blue.
In the next mont, Qiao Sang appeared at her previous location, right within the blind spot of the surveillance caras.
The staff mber, seeing soone appear out of thin air, skipped a heartbeat and cautiously asked, "Miss Qiao, you..."
Before he could finish, Qiao Sang interrupted, saying:
"Spatial Lockdown."
"Xun Xun!"
Although Little Treasure Hunter hadn’t synchronized its Tactile Power with Yaobao to see the vision, upon hearing its Beast Tar’s command, it imdiately realized the thief they were looking for was hiding inside the warehouse.
It put on a serious expression, its eyes glowing blue once more.
A semi-transparent barrier instantaneously expanded and ford, enveloping the entire warehouse except for the area where Qiao Sang and the staff stood.
"Slowly shrink the area," Qiao Sang instructed. "Stop once you sense anything unusual."
"Xun Xun~"
Little Treasure Hunter obediently complied.
The semi-transparent barrier gradually shrank.
The staff seed to understand what was happening and didn’t dare to make a sound, worried they might disrupt the operation.
Suddenly, with a "Bang!", a shelf in the distance collapsed with a thunderous crash.
The staff and their crocodiliform Pet Beast jolted in shock, instinctively clinging to each other. However, they quickly realized their embarrassed actions, exchanged an awkward glance, then separated hurriedly, as if they’d never hugged.
The always-quiet Gangbao glanced at them briefly.
"Ignore that area, keep shrinking the periter," Qiao Sang said, unfazed.
The shelf had been intact for hours but chose this precise mont to topple. She reasonably suspected the Spectral-type Pet Beast had deliberately knocked it down, aiming to divert her attention.
There’s no need to care about that; as long as Little Treasure Hunter continued deploying Spatial Lockdown and reducing the range, the Spectral-type Pet Beast hidden within the warehouse surely couldn’t escape capture.
"Xun Xun..."
Little Treasure Hunter nodded and reduced the Spatial Lockdown area further.
"Grrrr!"
Just as the range shrank to one-tenth of the warehouse’s size, a pet beast roughly a ter tall appeared. Its entire body was nearly purple and gaseous. With a distressed expression, it aggressively ramd its head against the barrier, attempting to break free.
Seeing no reaction from the barrier, the beast opened its mouth and rapidly condensed a black Shadow Ball, unleashing it at the barrier.
Ripples spread across the barrier like water waves but soon subsided, restored to serenity without bearing a single mark.
Qiao Sang instantly recognized the beast as the one she’d seen through Yaobao’s synchronized Tactile Power.
"Bubble Ghost?!" The staff exclaid in shock.
So this pet beast was called Bubble Ghost... Qiao Sang filed this piece of information away and then turned to ask, "Oh, you recognize it?"
"Two months ago, we hired a warehouse sorter here, and his pet beast was Bubble Ghost," the staff explained hesitantly. "Could it be maybe this is a misunderstanding? Are you sure it was stealing?"
Qiao Sang glanced at the Bubble Ghost still repeatedly bashing against the barrier and said, "During the tifra you ntioned, the pet beast stealing the tools was indeed this one. Regardless of reasons or misunderstandings, my job is to capture the thief stealing equipnt and hand them over to the authorities."
At her words, the staff imdiately clamd up.
The barrier’s range continued shrinking. Bubble Ghost, realizing its attacks were futile, beca visibly agitated. Suddenly, it let out a maddened scream, "Grrrr!"
Before them, three black Shadow Balls materialized, hurtling angrily toward the lone shelf within the confined barrier.
"Ahhh!" The staffer howled in panic, "No!"
"Lubao," Qiao Sang calmly called.
Just as she spoke, the staffer and crocodiliform pet beast suddenly felt an icy chill sweep through the room, and they couldn’t help but shiver in unison.
The anticipated scene of the shelf collapsing, sending tools crashing everywhere, never happened.
The staff looked toward where Bubble Ghost was, only to find that the semi-transparent barrier had vanished without them realizing it. Bubble Ghost was now encased entirely in bluish ice, suspended mid-air, along with the three Shadow Balls it had unleashed.
The dim lighting of the surroundings contrasted starkly with the freezing blue ice enveloping Bubble Ghost and its Shadow Balls. The room exuded cold mist.
Due to the freezing effects, Bubble Ghost and the three Shadow Balls appeared almost as if frozen on another dinsional plane.
This... The staff stared at the scene, their expression blank and mind clouded, unable to process what had just happened.
At that mont, they were utterly baffled, incapable of comprehending the recent events.
As a Beast Tar, although their skill level wasn’t high and they hadn’t achieved anything notable, they had regularly watched regional tournants every year. Back in school, they’d paid decent attention to classes. While they had graduated for many years now, they still retained basic knowledge about such things.
