Suspended beneath the astralguard formation, the pope and Ten Paladins stared with wide-eyed disbelief at the Tian Jiu Cult's relentless, orderly pursuit. No matter how long they watched, the profound shock never left their faces.
"A miracle, it’s a miracle!" Even the pope was frenzied, blabbering uncontrollably.
"This insect is parable to a hundred million cosmic gods!" Mo Lingji exclaimed in amazement.
"A hundred million cosmic gods? It’s worth more than that! Its true value is immeasurable, and its tactical importance in war grows with the power of its master. In the hands of the Eightpart Pantheons, its potential is truly staggering. Not a soul can escape its watch!" said the pope.
"To think that such a marvel was born of the ancestor... Her power is supreme." Mo Lingji's gentle voice quivered.
After hearing this, Yin Chen no longer bothered with them. They were incapable of accepting the truth, which would have been more painful than death itself. But this didn't stop them from admiring Yin Chen. “Master Chen” was their new name for it.
"With Master Chen here, we don't have to worry about controlling the scene. Let’s get down there and make this quick!"
Upon the pope's mand, the paladins each embraced Yin Chen, as if infused with renewed vigor. They sealed their minds, acting solely as instruments of its will, going wherever it sent them, killing as it directed. Its plans were meticulous.
"What makes the insect so formidable isn’t their numbers, bat power, or special characteristics, but their unified consciousness. It possesses an unfathomable processing capability, allowing it to instantly devise the optimal strategy for every warrior and exploit individual unique strengths for the most advantageous oute!"
On the scattered battlefield, Yin Chen skillfully matched each warrior to their opponent so they achieved victory almost every time. Each insect spent a long time observing Grand Yue’s cosmic god army, keeping track of every individual's strength.
"I'm done using my brain. I'll just follow Master Chen!"
Shaking his head, the pope smiled bitterly as he joined the battle as though he were just another soldier. It wasn’t long into the fight when his transmission stone from Tianming lit up. Using Yin Chen for simple munication was overkill, and its stuttering made a transmission stone far more convenient.
Tianming appeared in the flickering light.
"I've taken down Grand Feng. Are you done?" he asked.
"We just entered the star so it might take a while," the pope said, somewhat shocked.
"Alright, I’ll handle Grand Meng next. Hurry up, or I’ll be done with two stars before you can even secure one." Tianming chuckled.
"Don't worry!" The pope took a deep breath. "With Master Chen here, it won't be a problem." Calling Yin Chen "Master Chen" proved just how shocked they were.
"Alright, we’ll talk later. I’m in a hurry to get there. Capturing fifty million cosmic-god essences has slowed the tomb," Tianming said.
"Fifty million?" The pope's eyelids twitched. He felt a subtle admiration for the young man. "Wait, I have another question." He added.
"Go ahead."
“Where do we send the captives? To Grand Jiang, Grand Lin, and Grand Chen? Will the kunlan primalwingers wele us?" the pope asked.
"Send them to my imperial star." Tianming had already made plans.
"The imperial star? Aren’t you worried about us?" The pope blurted in shock.
"What's there to worry about? How can you cause trouble in my territory?" Tianming smiled. "Wake up! The imperial star is the Primordial Sand’s most challenging battlefield and perhaps the site of the final battle."
Gritting his teeth, the pope said, "Fine, I’ll see you later."
After turning off the transmission stone, both sides continued to kill. Tianming headed for Grand Meng. Thanks to the warning from Grand Feng, they were prepared and didn’t resist Tianming. However, they didn't quite understand Yin Chen's ability to ferret them out.
Without additional forces, Grand Feng, Grand Yue, and Grand Meng were powerless against Tianming, even if their starlords returned. And at this point, Empress Xia couldn't possibly send reinforcements to them first.
With Tianming and the Tian Jiu Cult’s decisive attack, the three stars were destined to fall. Though the three starlords had expected their people to endure until the Eightpart Pantheons arrived, Yin Chen’s presence accelerated their defeat.
The three stars had fallen. While their homeland and formations remained, 150 million of their cosmic gods were captured. Almost all of them were eliminated. Just as the Tian Jiu Cult had taken Grand Yue, Tianming swiftly captured two stars, altogether leaving behind three "bare" stars in the vast darkness.
After capturing 100 million cosmic gods, Tianming turned to look at Great Meng.
"You could have lived like humans, but you chose to be dogs. You denied me the chance to show my strength and now you deserve to be the first cannon fodders of this war."
Tianming had done his utmost to help the three stars.
"If you weren't Ling'er's descendants, you’d be dead." He spared their lives solely because of Feiling.
Tianming led the Tian Jiu Cult’s astralships into the Sun for the first time.
"This world..." The sight of the fiery world left ninety million cosmic gods breathless, their eyes wide with yearning and awe.
Tianming had once again shocked them. At this moment, they finally realized the reason for his fearlessness in facing the Eightpart Pantheons.
